This is my truck I have mentioned. My old channel has several videos with this on it. One of these days I intend to get them edited better and upload them here. Follow me on Instagram: / rage_fueled
My grandad had one with long bed Manuel trans and he loved that thing . Drove it forever . I remember the gas lineage was amazing . We don’t need evs we’ve had fuel economy vehicles for a very long time . Just not good for big oil shareholders . Thanks for sharing . Good memories
man that is one sweet truck glad you got it running cool now. just need install grill, bed looks great might be hard to carry anything didnt see sides or tie down points. BTW my highschool car ran better the less we worked on it ha ha a bit of a learning curve for a young man tinkering with car ahh the good ol days!
Jeff Y thank you sir. I had the grill sitting in the garage. Didn’t want to break it haha it has tie points under the side rails and I carry some short chains with hooks and tie straps. Unfortunately the engine locked up 2 years ago so it’s been sitting at our shop. We have a running parts truck that I’m going to pull the engine from. My dad has had a lot of health issues the past couple years so it has not been a priority.
I have the most bitter sweet feelings for it. It has always given me problems. My dad has 3 of these. They all run flawlessly albeit look rough. Mine looks good but runs like trash. In fact, something let loose on it a few months ago and the engine locked up. I need to swap in another engine. I will be sticking with the stock C223 engine.
Had a 82 myself, 2.2 Diesel with a automatic transmission. Top speed was 55 "60" if you pushed it hard & took 3 weeks to get it up to that speed. But I do miss the little truck, definitely a conversation anywhere I went.
@@RageFueled This was last week on the way to a diesel shop so I had to get on the loop. There was a semi and long line of cars behind me because the speed limit is 75 and everyone wants to go 80+. The luv was putting out a decent amount of smoke so the semi backed off, making the whole line of cars behind him as well. Not a good truck for my city's speed limits and aggressive drivers. Bought it a month ago it was featured on barnfinds, article is "Nicest One Left? 1982 Chevrolet Luv" if you want to see what it looks like.
Looking to purchase one of these from the original family that bought it new. It’s a 81 4wd with the 2.2 Diesel with the turbo. They recently replaced the old 4spd with a 5spd. The truck has 129,000 miles on it with no rust. He’s asking 7k for it…. Is that too much? I tired kbb and they don’t do vehicles that old. And let me tell you…. This is a grandpa owned Isuzu.
I would spend that on it if the frame has no cancer rust. If they’d take 6-6.5 all day long. Only question is rust. But yes. That’s top shelf. 4wd and turbo diesel. Other than possible rust, the year is risky. That’s before they upgraded rods. Don’t ever host more than stock or the rods will scatter like geese.
Spencer G it was an internally collapsed lower radiator hose luckily. The inner ply pulled loose from the outer and collapsed restricting flow into the water pump.
