Encompassing over 1,000,000 acres, the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness is in peril from a proposed toxic copper mine on the park’s boundary. Patagonia ambassador Nathaniel Riverhorse Nakadate paddles through the northern Minnesota wilderness to give voice to a silent, pristine place.

Riverhorse Nakadate was my Creative Writing Teacher about a decade ago…he was legendary! Even the most stressed and uptight students had absolutely respect and admiration for him.

Thank you to Patagonia for bringing attention to the beauty of the unbridled wilderness that is the BWCA, and what Polymet Mining is trying to do. This film brought me to tears, knowing that people in this world would destroy something so majestic, simply for monetary gain.

Watching this was like a salve for the soul. The importance of protecting the Boundary Waters cannot be understated. I have been fortunate enough to experience the Boundary Waters in all of its beauty on two long trips - it's a sacred place, and one worth far more to the world than a thousand mines could ever make in a lifetime of revenue.

The BWCA is the crown jewel of my home state, Minnesota. If you have never been, put it on your list for must visit places. It's one of "Nat Geo's 50 places of a lifetime" for a reason. This place is medicine to the soul. HUGE thanks to Patagonia for bringing light to what's going on in terms of Mining efforts!

Beautiful film. Truly breathtaking. And what a heartfelt narration! You could really hear his weathered soul, and the depths of his serenity in that natural environment. I find it hard sometimes, to come to terms with the fact that so few seem to value the natural world, so few recognise the power of nature to heal us, and connect us with our roots as individuals and as a species. We need nature, its coarseness, its unforgiving, unsympathetic exterior humbles us, keeps the hubris of mankind in check.

Beautifully filmed. Been to the Boundary Waters and Quetico a dozen times and look forward to many more trips to nourish the soul. The thought of it being polluted just breaks my heart. If you feel the same please align with “Save the Boundary Waters” and/or “Boundary Waters Action Fund” to stop the mining

I was lucky enough to be able to experience the boundary waters around age 13 on a week long canoe trip. The experience has never left me, it truly is the most amazing wildness I have ever explored. I hope it can remain as wild and pristine as it was when I explored it many years ago.

As a Fly angler myself nature seeking has been a way of life for myself and partner. BUT, not at this level. knowing is key, seeing is the way. Absolutely spell bounding. Committed to learn and do more about this Mining project. #ItsAllHomeWater.
