What I love about this channel is that it doesn't feel like a soul-less tech journalist site, it feels like Linus just loves to learn about this industry and we're just along for the ride. I really hope that this change helps him have more time and energy to enjoy this journey through the new technologies, and his family. Love you man, keep doing the good work.
What I love about this is that linus still owns the company, all he did was shift the responsibilities and duties of running the business to someone else so he can focus on projects and innovations that excite him. Genius move if you ask me

This is gonna drive Linus nuts. Despite how laid back he seems I know he's a control freak - he has to be. It will take him a while to distance his mind from it I suspect. There will be decisions made he doesn't like. If I were him - I would have a list of projects and focus on them until I got used to it. Just my take.
The CEO linus got isn't some random corporate shmuck. Its his old boss from NCIX who has stayed friends with him since. Linus has spoken highly of him for years and has said that him and Yvonne will still be the heads of the company. There's always going to be change in life, but this change I'm certainly excited for because Linus will be able to return to the tech nerd he is rather then the CEO he has had to be for the company. I so liked the faces that Luke made when Linus was talking about himself being clumsy at times. I honestly started lol with the face that seemed the cat is coming out of the bag any second.
Okay that first point about Linus not realising the change was so close is very relatable lol I have a good degree of weird brain stuff and one of the big things is the future basically not existing. I moved countries a while back and people kept asking if I was excited, nervous, if it felt "real" yet etc. starting about 3 weeks before and I was like... No, none of those, at best I start noticing things coming up maybe the day before, usually the day of, until then it's all in this nebulous "future" space that is totally not real and doesn't really enter my thoughts. Just amusing to hear about someone else getting that vibe
A message to Linus I've been watching you bust your butt off making content and continuing toward your insanely ambitious goals since 2011. Your work ethic in general is inspiring to the highest degree, and I wish nothing but the best for you.
More companies need to distance the relationship between owner and CEO. It definitely shouldn't be the same person, at a certain company size. If the CEO is just as at risk of falling as the rest of the employees they're naturally more inclined to not just be profit-focused. Props to Linus for making a difficult change, genuinely hope it works out for LMG

Sounds like LTT is going through some "growth pains", but change is inevitable, and the growth that we have seen seems to have been quite positive for the on-line community, and I will enjoy seeing the organization and site move forward in a positive direction.
I don't see how LTT will continue to grow. The business model of tech youtuber is close to fully saturated already, and the labs is also a small-mid enterprise. LTT has already identified that they're in the awkward spot of being too big to save a lot on costs (they have so many people), but having a business model that will currently never grow to use the many people efficiently. i.e., LTT net profit percentage would be higher if they scaled back OR heavily diversified (more than the labs).

I knew going into that desk PC build that it was a old video(believe i heard it on the WAN show before I watched it) but i can definitely say you seemed happier and more energetic in that video and ones moving forward then you did in past ones. Only you could say what changed but i will say that *something* changed because its obviously not just me thats noticing it. Just wanted to mention since ive seen you say this before. The audience may just not realize what change caused this and are attributing it to the CEO change.

17:12 I thought the reason for the crappy video/audio quality from Linus in the 4060 video was meant to be a clever play from Nvidia's minimal effort on the 4060. So minimal effort graphics card, minimal effort video. I thought it was a clever editor's choice rather than anything else.
To this day I trust Linus and LTT. Even in this big decisions I am absolutly confident and I trust the decisions made by Linus. He knows best. Look at LTT now! It's an amazing group, directed with respect and humanity. It's special to me. Thank you Linus, you really did a great job.

Hmm, could you imagine if other companies ran in such a way that CEOs didn't get enriched by choices that boosted company revenue? (particularly those who get bonuses for short-term gains, encouraging risky choices that hurt the company in the long run). But i guess like in politics, if you did that you would have a hard time getting people willing to do the job. Even if it paid well, if they couldn't milk it for more money not many people would put up with the responsibilities.
What makes you think that Terren doesn't have a performance bonus clause in his contact? Just the line about him not being incentivized to nickel and dime? Because I guarantee that if he (and Luke) put together some magical solution that grows Floatplane to the point where it's pulling in more revenue than RU-vid*, he's getting some serious perks, if only at his next contract negotiation. *Erm, bad example, since RU-vid, to my knowledge, has never actually made a profit.
given that LMG isn't publicly traded, there won't be the issue of making bad choices that cause temporary spikes in stock prices at the cost of long term stability
as long as you don't have a big ceo bonus based on "efficiencies" he's gonna run the company for the people. otherwise he'll do it for the bonus, like any other CEO
I hadn’t thought about it before, but Linus has mentioned having ADHD, and it is common for people with ADHD to drop things more than others. Sometimes it can even look like going out of your way to drop something on purpose, and I think this is because without ADHD you might have been able to pay attention to that on top of the other things you’re paying attention to, but for some reason in that moment you end up prioritizing paying attention to other things. Normally I don’t like reading into people in comments like this, but I feel like this case is fine because it’s something he said publicly that he has and a trait that he obviously does whether due to ADHD or not, especially since he was even saying he thinks the problem is from having too many things to pay attention to during video shoots.

finally a step in the right direction next up on the road to retirement linus steps down as a lmg host and after that linus steps down as chief vision officer(cvo) and than hopefully lmg has second uptide period as big as never before new hosts and talent steer the ship in the right direction again
its funny how people think you guys roll out videos in order of competition heck you can roll out a video tomorrow when there was snow on the ground and it wouldn't even phase me, I know some RU-vidrs I watch have a back log of videos from 3 or 4 months ago that are queued up just because of how much stuff they push out in a day and they only do biweekly uploads.
That basically how most RU-vidrs that have a set schedule do their video. Daily/weekly uploads on top of their personal projects would not be sustainable otherwise.
I do not know about the reason of not having an younger CEO means no new ideas, or even lack of capability or desire in fact they may have different approach and may lack experience but could seek more modern approach especially in tech space and social media platforms and people already in company may know more behind the scenes and can be more motivated due to them being invested in their jobs already. Being experience does not mean better results, how many companies have we seen have experience CEOs and done terrible decisions in the past?
The main issue would be that it becomes far too corporatized. This could be great for the company’s longevity, but terrible for the company’s spirit and culture.

I feel like I'm listening to the Linus Monologue show more and more, Luke seems to have to justify every contribution to the conversation and gets shut down repeatedly throughout various conversations. I would love to see a timer for how long Linus is talking vs Luke throughout the shows, just to prove a point Still good content overall
LMG is my go-to source for tech reviews and tech entertainment. I am eagerly awaiting the reviews that will be released as a result of the expensive testing equipment that LMG has recently purchased. No other review channel has purchased an environmental chamber for computers or an EMC chamber.

11:25 The only responsibility a CEO has is to make sure that the company's profitability grows. There's no guarantee he's going to help the employees nor does he have the obligation to do so. Those employee concerns are very much valid and if Linus was worried about what would happen if a union formed while he was CEO, he's going to be doubly worried when this new one comes in and changes everything that prevented such a union from being created in the first place. Linus, you're too /good/ to be CEO.
The only real responsibility a CEO has is *to make the owners and investors happy* which _usually_ takes the form of maximizing profitability, but in the case of some endowment-funded nonprofits can be, "Divest this money as fast as you can so as to do the greatest good."
