Being falsely accused of being drunk REALLY pisses me off. I totally get the thinking, *"Well I wasn't but I guess I will now since that's what you think of me".* Really hard not to give in to that feeling.

Hey. Totally understand. Try to remember, as hard as it is, that sometimes people are going to use that excuse. June 21 I'll have 19 years and some people still use that as an excuse to ignore their own problems. NEVER, EVER LOOSE YOUR GRATITUDE! NEVER ALLOW ANYONE TO TAKE AWAY YOUR JOY OR.SELF RESPECT. A lot of my fear about drinking again is because I imagine drinking like I used to (2 days benders) with my new sober body that hasn't had a drink for a year and 7 months...I have no doubt when I'm hungover it'll be the worst hangover I've ever had, plus the worst DT's I've ever had. I've convinced myself that I'll have a stroke or at least a seizure. When I was hungover from drinking 20+ years I used to have crushing anxiety...could you imagine having that anxiety after a year and 7 months sober? I'd have a psychological breakdown, I'd be paranoid I was going to have a heart attack. And the shame of having relapsed? My gosh, not even worth thinking about. Still very strong in my sobriety and I love your videos.

Wow thanks for the generous comments Slayer, and thanks to your followers too who came over to my channel to say hello. You've built a really good community in your comments. That point you made in the second half of this video, about how people suspecting you of drinking can make you want to drink, that's so real. Hey Slayer, you’re such a kind soul, thank you for the shout out. You’re totally right , I could see myself hanging out with you. It’s so strange how we can connect without knowing each other IRL. I appreciate you uploading this video and seeing you just share your perspective. It’s authentic and raw. I completely get it, work and life gets busy. You do you, we’ll be here. Even a post just hearing you’re good is appreciated 😃. One of the things that really stands out that you said is how counting days of sobriety is tough and it’s such a struggle. Like I’m again on day 7, my journey didn’t start off with quitting altogether but I have been asking myself the tough questions. It’s only going to get worse. Well today I’m sober, I hope it gets easier…one day at a time. If it just weren’t the first thing that pops into my head ugh. Anyways hope you got some rest and you had a great day. See ya ✌️.

Hey Mic!! I just have to apologize bc I think I misremembered some info in the last comment I sent you. I had said that you hadn't come from a place of alcohol addiction, and idk if I was wrong with that comment. Bc there was one time where you asked me about how long I'd had my sobriety, and I thought you had said that you didn't suffer from aud, but were just looking to cut down. I bring this to up bc I hope I didn't offend you in assuming that you weren't struggling with addiction. I just relayed in a comment to Slayer that I think that if someone threw the bunch of us into a room together we'd never shut up. I def see you guys as friends and would never want to minimize anything you're going through! Hope you're having a great day! And 6 days is bada$$ haha

@@amandaflaherty7528good morning friend, your memory serves you well 😊 I remember reading one of your post and wondered if you were early in your sobriety to find you had several years under year belt. Again Congratulations, it’s a huge accomplishment. This has been a year of reflection for me as I didn’t think I had an issue. Well it all started with dry Jan I did that back in 2023 too no biggie. Well I couldn’t stop thinking about drinking poison again so few days into feb there I was drinking fast and to excess. March same thing, here comes April…more drinking. Why can’t I stop finding reasons to drink? You’re right on, for me this started with let’s cut down, I need to press reset. So do I suffer with AUD? I now believe that I do because I check many of the boxes. Do I believe I’ll have enough self-control to be able to drink again, probably but I want to make a conscious effort to feel safe again. Maybe it never happens for me and I’ll have to give it up. Which I’m ok with the health issues alone is reason enough to never touch it again. You and many others have helped me peel back the onion to see that our journeys may look different but the struggle is the same. Thank you friend for being so open and allowing me to do the same. Happy to hear your siblings are in town and you have some time off. Have a great Friday and enjoy it to the fullest. 💜 💜

Yo my homie Thank you so much for the shout out always sharing your videos with the right people and I know that no matter what you put out it's very honest and very raw and that's what gravitated me to your channel but first popped up along my stream it was a God send You are a God send My friend to so many people I love seeing your numbers going up the people in the comments are going up and you are building something brick by brick and it's amazing to see I'm so proud of you. The thing that I really like about this video was when you were mentioning about counting your days That is one thing that I stayed away from after some failures as I would write down a day and then I would fail so on and so forth and I just stopped because it just makes you conscious of that and my alcoholic brain messes with me and the more I'm conscious of it the more I think about it and the less I think about it the stronger I am. To each their own whatever works for you do it but this is what works for me I've tried it the other way but I just can't do it no more feel me homie? So I'm just living one day at a time making my kids interest my interests and living for my family. So happy you decided to upload this video every time you say something it carries weight Even if you think you're rambling on or getting off base you're still on point man Don't ever quit Just keep going Love you slay! Oh btw If you want to do and sit down or whatever I'll do it even though I really don't want to lol because of the fear of public speaking but I believe most people have that unlike you you have a gift to just sit there and talk and spill your guts and be 100% comfortable with it man I admire that so much You're really really good dude and also Good job cleaning up the language man You're doing a great job You've repented of that and you even bleed yourself out that's so funny because when you get caught up into talking about something and you get passionate about it it just comes out and it's so funny how you just edited that out anyway I'll stop rambling now enjoy your day in Colorado It's a little cold here in Wisconsin but it's getting warmer lol Love you brother❤❤

Regarding the number of days in recovery. Absolutely, in the early days its better to just concentrate on recovery. I only mention mine to give people hope. Having said that, between 1986 and 1996 I was in and out of rehabs. It wasn't until.2095 I finally made the decision. Hey Slayer!! Just got here!! My sibling came home for the weekend, and I'm on spring break (work in a preschool), so I've been hanging out with the fam. So I'm late to everything! Have to go on LD's channel, too, but I saw your video was up and needed to give it a look!! I appreciate you so much for thinking about us! I agree, we are cut from the same cloth! I think we'd all never be able to shut up if we were thrown in a room together haha also, I appreciate this video so much. I love what you said, that you'd never be able to achieve 20 years sobriety without 2 days sobriety. What a fantastic way of looking at things! It's also true that we need to always be vigilant. We'll always have to be vigilant when it comes to our health. But I think I scared myself so much when I came out of it that that feels like a good trade off. I hope that you and everyone in this awesome community has a great day!! ❤🙏😁

Amanda!!!! I love seeing your comments, they always bring a smile to my face. We do care so much, this disease can be extremely lonely. We need to help our fellow brothers and sisters. Much love Amanda, have a fantastic day!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

@Slayer-7373 I couldn't agree more, Slayer!! And the feeling is mutual. I really appreciate everything you share with all of us. It's inspiring to see the level of care and love you share with anyone who needs it. This world in general can be such a lonely place, but add in addiction, and it can feel so much more lonely. It really makes my day to share my time with all of you, and I look forward to continuing this journey together! 😁
