It sure is hideous on-going weather conditions you're both battling Joanna but IMHO you are winning against the rotten conditions and winning handsomely. You've got the start of a wonderful flock of quality new lambs and a future income stream all because of yours and Nicks unrelenting determination to win through. Even with the continuing insidious weather, dogs and everything else you've had to contend with (and still are) you've got that next generation of livestock despite everything that's even now still being thrown at you. True farming grit and endurance. Great work Joanna.
I really feel so sorry that you are having such terrible weather my father was a hill shepherd and he always said that mild sunny days made for great lambing days and wet and cold made it very hard work hope it improves soon.
Hi Joanna, Bit of everything happening weather wise for April, Great news the lambing is continuing without any major upsets. There are some nice looking lambs this year...😃👍🏻
You and Nick have done heroes work! This is an exceptionally difficult year according to all the farmers, but you are using all the training your dad left you and WINNING! Live lambs are always a success!
Hi Jo Oh my word what atrocious weather we’re having especially where you are Poor little lambs but they liked there overnight hotel stay Very good idea Hope all the expectant mothers are now with their lambs Take care Love Kim x x
Hi Kim , yeah I can’t believe it’s still So miserable it feels like it’s been going on forever !! We did have a nicer weekend of weather but it’s so short lived, it’s rained most of today and cold!!
Excellent giving emergency shelter to the Ewes & Twins/Triplets in all the Hail Sleet & Intense Rain we've all been experiencing & Truly excellent of the Ewes & Lambs in the field with the Sunrise. Storm & Lightening/Thunder Standing water making Lambing season a challenge for you Joanna & Nick sailing through the Weather Shitstorm !!!! Constipation in the Lamb so nice seeing how you care for them Best Wishes xx
Joanna between the weather and the dogs you and Nick are both showing your metal. Your dad is giving his buddies a wink and a nod up above saying "that's my girl " !!! Cheers
That was some dreadful weather, let’s hope it’s finished now. We really need some dry warm days, and those lambs are growing up and putting on weight quickly, well done 🐑
Hello Joanna and Nick, Well ,you know that when it rains it pours. Nick is a man of few words seems like. Thanks for Sharing. 😊 ps. Those gates are Great.
Horrendous is the only way you can describe lambing this year. You are both doing a really good job looking after the girls and their offspring. Take care xx
Until i watched some of these channels on raising sheep, i had no idea how much grit was needed to make this a success. When a new problem asises, You and Nick are on it. But this one today is shocking with the hail, wind and new lambs. But, i have no doubt that you will save the day. Your Dad taught you well. That hardiness that people of the Dales are famous for sure shows through here. Bravo. You can do do it.
Hello Joanna Nick , wow , you looked like you were in yhe artic in one scene . This is ruff and you captured it on film how ruff it is . And your up high and its not draining . You both look like like your hanging in there . Last scene very spectacular . Keep dry and warm . Glad you have a shed to bring them in ehen you can. Thankyou for the 🐑🐏🐑🐏🐑 lambing series . Geez! Joanna and Nick you've had so much to contend with re for farmers the heavy, yucky weather. But, Wow! A beautiful sky to finish with. All the best for the coming summer 😊😊
What a day for you both and the Ewes and Lambs. Glad ur wrapped up warm . Gave you some rosy cheeks Joanna. Lol We had a morning of high winds and driving rain. Live on a slight hill and a 5ft wide river going down the road. Some beautifull Lambs you have. Keep ur chins up both, will be better soon. 😊😊
Hello from Nova Scotia Canada your not alone we had crazy weather right across canada.can not predict the weather last couple years.keep muddling through
Hello iv just myself finished lambing around 200 ewes outside in cumbria over the past 3 weeks or so and as you have experienced yourselves its been a nerve testing time worrying about the lambs in the weather...iv never had so many sheep inside ...maybe by next Yr il have forgotten about how bad it was as quite frankly i spent days saying...never again..🙈
We have lambed inside because of the weather and because the fields are too wet. It feels like it's never going to dry up. Weather must be worse for you on high ground. Thanks for the video. All the best.
You’ve definitely had it worse than us but we’ve the hills to protect us a bit. It’s definitely April showers on steroids this year🤦♂ I’d have pulled the ewes and lambs in as well, think you’d have had problems if you hadn’t 👌. I remember a good 10yrs ago the neighbour turned his ewes and lambs out. It was horrible weather like this. I remember seeing dirty brown/black soil covers lambs out😔 he brought them in best he could but had cattle calfing as well 🤦♂
I'd gladly trade you a week of your weather for ours in the central U.S. of late. It's been nice, sunny, rather windy, that's the worst part if you can call a warm wind bad, but it's just too much dry. You did seem a lot happier this video with a few nicer moments with some sun...and no dogs this one. :)
Over summer could you reorganise your shed spaces to give more space to bring the sheep, especially triplets, indoors for lambing. they would eat less and a lot less work for you two.
Can’t you gather as farmers and press the council to post signs stating the law of dogs must be on a leash. If not they will be fined a great sum to hinder breaking the law? Photograph them and then follow them to their car and photograph their license number to turn them in.
That weather is relentless, very hard on the mind and body and I can see you take those little positives and use them to offset this crap weather. I see some farmers sprinkle lime onto the indoor bedding is it something you do or would consider for disease control?
@@nickj5488 and guess what the minute Dubai happened the weather took up over here in Ireland, clear blue skies ,it's like they afraid of being found out. U never know
Hi 👋 this year I haven’t assisted as many lambing’s and where I have, I have focused on doing the job rather than setting up to film , and a lot of the time I am working on my own so no one to film what I do. When my hands are working I cannot be filming. In addition RU-vid censors content that shows lambing scenes that have the lady parts of blood etc on them , so there is no incentive to show this because it gets my content demonetised and the very small amount I make Through RU-vid ( around 60 Per week, helps me to survive !!)
