Theo tokos literally means "God bearer", but translated to English is Mother of God.

Theotokos means "Birthgiver of God."

Master Blackthorne "God Bearer" would be more fitting and easy on the ears

@@tamerofhorses2200 In some languages, they literally say God-Birther. Some languages use all versions: God-bearer, God-birther and Mother of God.

@@joosuaraave7176 Yes, but I generally meant "Godbearer" sounds more fitting for English, regardless of how other languages translate the term "theotokos"
