This is my 2nd favorite hymn. Guide Me O Thou Great Jehovah is my favorite. The great Dr. Momma LouDella Evans Reid taught me how to direct hymns. My minister of music of Christian Valley M.B. Church of Gary, In., the late Madam Eunice Lawrence, taught me how to appreciate hymns.
I miss you Loudella, when I was youger at the church u were nice and kind to me , you let me direct one sunday morning on youth day, (the Lords Prayer) thank you, I have never forgotten that moment
It is well with my soul and it shall rest, rule, and abide in my soul henceforth now and forevermore in Jesus' Name and all the children of the Living God said, Amen!
Oh, this is so wisely gorgeous and deep, like a mighty, dark and fertile river, or some fantastic home run - way, way over the wall! I will forever be in awe of this performance - and in awe of our astonishingly loving, just and powerful God and all the faithful, very gifted people who made this song spring to such vibrant and amazing life! Hearty thanks for posting it!
As a child my home church "Naomi AME Zion" in Brooklyn New York, performed a beautiful arrangement of this song under the direction of Allan Jarvis. I have searched and searched for a recording of this particular arrangement. It is such a powerful song and I am so sorry there is not a recording of it to date. This arrangement is as close to what I remember it sounding like. I am so thankful to the Fellowship choir, for uploading this. Please don't make fun of the voices, each is unique and soul stirring in it's own way. A lot of lives have been saved and comforted by this.
