It Meant Nothing: "Rangers Won a Meaningless Game" 

Evan’s toddler son probably handled the Islander loss with more maturity than he did. The guy watches 12 Islander games a year and is throwing a fit like a child. If the Islanders had won, he’d be shouting about how they exposed the Rangers as frauds on national TV in front of 80 thousand people. He’s more upset about a fanbase he hates being happy than actually losing the game.

It meant nothing because you lost. If you won, you’d be yelling about how the Rangers embarrassed themselves.

It’s “never” a meaningless game when the New York Rangers and Islanders play each other.

NY sports have been in the toilet for a long time and haven't seen a championship in over a decade. I wish these guys would put more respect on the Rangers - who have at least been a consistent playoff contender and have made a Stanley Cup final in recent memory - considering all the wasted airtime that gets allocated on this station to loser underachievers like the Jets/Giants/Yanks/Mets. Several of those team I actually root for so I'm not even being a biased hater. If this was a Mets win over the Yankees, Evan would've been doing cartwheels in the studio the entire show.

It’s just another game, obviously. However it is made much bigger. And your team blew an easy win. As a comeback, for an actual contender who played a horrible game. To know you can make that comeback is huge. Islanders blow, it’s not the 80s anymore.

Yeah it meant everything lol. This game had the potential to destroy the Islanders season. They blew a 3 goal lead and a 2 goal lead in the third in front of 80,000 people. Not saying it will, but that is an absolutely crushing loss, and to say it was meaningless is just ignorant I’m sorry. And this guy also called Dobson a schmuck, the guy has 53 assists and three in the game, he pretty much drives the teams whole offense, yeah he turned it over there but even McDavid has made bad turnovers, it happens. Not to mention my Dad went to the game and said on the bus ride home all the islanders fans wanted to kill themselves. It was an extremely meaningful game, every outdoor game is.
