I thought there was too much talking in the video. But obviously this comment section was NOT listening to anything she said. Literally watch the video and she answers all 3 questions every single person here keeps asking.
Step one is to clean them. Like I say in the video the only directions that the kiwi thing says is to have clean dry shoes. There are hundreds of ways to clean white canvas shoes just use your preferred method or whatever one you feel comfortable with. If the stain is still there then use this stuff.
You’re welcome! I made the video because I too had tried to figure out / find videos but no one really explained anything 😐 I don’t think this is the greatest video out there but it’s more helpful I think than the others!
Yes we know the basic obvious step of dabbing it and applying it to the main white areas of the shoe, but what about dabbing the white sole part of a shoe and white cleaner got onto the color part of the shoe and accidentally dried? It dried like paint and has me think this cleaner is no cleaner but rather a thick weak solution slightly transparent paint (until more is applied it obviously becomes thicker with fuller color).
Question, is this like paint? Is it painting the shoe or simply cleaning it? If it is like paint, are you able to tell there has been something put over it? Or is it invisible?
I guess it’s kind of like paint? It definitely works and I wouldn’t say it looks like paint when it’s on / dried. I usually try and clean my shoes and get them as white as I can and then found this product and wanted to try it out because they weren’t as white as I wanted them to be (since they’re old and whatnot)
For 12 straight hours I’ve been working on cleaning my brothers converse and there’s just some stubborn stains that just won’t come out for the life of me. Do you think this will cover them up and how long did this last before you had to reapply it?
Everyone this is literally paint I DO NOT recommend using this. I’m a sneaker restorer and I recommend using OxiClean Whiting Detergent and Blue Tide and the sun to whiten mesh and canvas. Other methods you can use is Blue Tide with White bright and the sun. Or Blue tide and vinegar and the sun
I agree with you :) however this stuff works to cover up any yellowing from over bleaching! I always clean my white shoes with detergent or the smallest amount of bleach but after 3-4 years they refused to get all the way white again!
The Pharaoh I used what google said (peroxide and baking soda) to clean my white vans and it turned yellow what should I use to get rid of the yellow??! I’m so mad 😠 Because it said it wouldn’t turn yellow
Thank you for this comment. It literally is paint. I just wasted so much time trying to restore a pair of shoes. On the front of the bottle is says "whitener" but in the instructions it says "polish" 🤦♀️
I tried it on some white and blue Converse. My shoes had turned a yellowish color, I tried putting them in the washer but that didn’t help. The Kiwi whitener took some of the yellowish color away but it’s still visible.
I just bought this Kiwi whitener like literally today and tried them on one of my white Vans..... clearly it does not make it white. My white Vans are now a creamy and yellow Vans.... if you don’t believe me try it out for yourself 🤣
I did this and my vans look yellow!! When it dries will it look better??? I just had a mental breakdown because I just bought them with my own money and I feel like I’ve ruined them.
Just use a pure white non gel base tooth paste and mix it half cup of water, then use a used toothbrush and let your shoe dries and you are good to go.
Okay now I know some where there is a serious generation gap in knowledge.. My dear its white polish and you are putting way too much polish on it for canvas .. I wash then then use a damp cloth or spong to spread it and thin the Polish out so its not caked on. Also use gloves. Already know young people stopped polishing shoes because you guys wear a lot of plastic shoes and low quality shoes that last very long...
I’m sitting here saying, “It’s shoe polish sweetie, it’s shoe polish.” Kiwi just replaced the word ‘polish’ with ‘whitener’ I’d been looking all over for white shoe polish for my favorite, most comfortable tennis shoes and couldn’t find any. One day I was at the Base Exchange and just knew that they’d have some. I saw the Kiwi Whitener and figured I’d try it. Of course the instructions are micro-printed, so I searched for instructions and ran across this video. I immediately chuckled when I saw that it’s the polish I’ve been looking for the whole time. New era, new name, same stuff.
Sorry to say this. But you looks more confusing and this video makes no sense. Work on realism, practicality & a basic script for your video demonstration.
Cream is typically a yellowed-out white, so this might not be the best choice. Whitening products almost always aim for a pearl-white color, almost to the point of blueness.
