@@FunnierIrishPerson no, you should only drive as fast as you can while still having control over the kart. As the dude in the vid said, it is safety first. And the purpose of karting rather is learning to race, not crashing all the time.
@@marcgonzalez9920 you are clearly not a karting driver. Braking hard and steering causes a spin out. You can’t deny it mate sorry. Are you meaning engine braking?
@@marcgonzalez9920 You're wrong actually. The karts have great traction, I know from experience. When you brake while turning, the back of the kart shifts outward and the front shifts inward. Center of gravity is much more different in a go kart than a real racing car.
Good on you for posting that, even though you clearly were at fault. Hopefully it shows what can happen when you drive like this. And to those saying the track conditions were bad, even if that is the case, you should always take conditions into account when you're driving.
I wish they would kick people out who can't control their kart more often. Every time I go to the track there's at least two people that are just slamming into everyone and every wall and try to crash you when you try to pass.
Rental karts usually have a good handling cause they don't have a very powerful engine. All you need is just lift the throttle to slow down enough to complete a curve. When I was a kid, our instructor basic teach was "let the kart flow, ride smoothly". This guy kept spinning because he was braking too hard. If you have to brake, just tap it.
To be fair to the lad, I think he took it in, he wasn't stupid about it and agreed with the bloke, he just didn't really seem to have the skills or understand really
Yeah they slicked the floor a little too much but you kept turning the steering constantly and kept overturning the corner so I see why you crashed twice.
Don't know why people are complaining about the track conditions cause I've drive on these tracks before and only span out once cause someone rear ended me in a corner
It’s the drivers fault and the floor is way too slick. Drivers fault for accelerating inside the turn when you have two people in front of you and crashing into them. Floor is way too slick. Like he couldn’t even make a turn without sliding all over the place but I mean I guess slow down at that point but still
He was trying to get on the power in the middle of the corner which upset the car. I’ve driven asphalt and spun because of that, the track doesn’t have to be slick to spin you from accelerating in a corner.
For those people complaining about the grip, I just raced in a go kart race on Wednesday, a bit of the track was very wet with water, what did I do when I hit the water, got loose, but saved it everytime, only once did I spin out and that was when I hit some water that still was on the track, everyone in my race had control of their kart in the wet, why can’t this guy have control on this circuit??
Its hard to say why he was spinning out, he was taking the corners quick, probably too quick for the go kart's grip, if he was braking that would cause it to spin out. But if he didnt brake, which i don't think he did, its highly likely that there is poor grip and allot of oversteer for what is a very glossy floor. If it was tarmac, you would be cornering like that no problem.
Looks way to slick. Though I guess he kept spinning after stamping on the brakes. You don’t need to brake much. Just turn in the go kart will go where point, just need to get right speed etc
First rule is to drive slower to get a feel for the car and track first. Clearly this idiot has zero talent, three modes, stationary, foot to floor, hard braking.
LMAO Jeez some people. I'd think that after the first slide that'd have been an indication enough to change your style. Karting is NONE CONTACT, which someone in all likelihood may have pointed out to you. Two points of contact with a second, causing to a deserved hard smash. Some of these open events are no go events solely down to people like you as they can't figure out the simple methodology of driving smooth and fast or take it way too seriously and fight harder than they do than at Round 23 of the FIA F1 World Championship. Stay at home if you're not capable of sharing a kart track with members of the public safely.
When to one in london which was just a circular track, but slippery as ice. Got the hang of it quickly, just drift the kart feather the throttle no brakes. Joke for endurance racing, 00s of laps
I mean it’s his fault, the first crash he just accelerated in the hairpin into people the second one he just went on the power way to early and spun and so did the guy behind. It doesn’t matter if the floors are slippery he would have spun doing that if they weren’t. Also if you’re racing you have to adapt to track conditions, you don’t just blaze into a corner if you can’t control the kart and expect it to go beautifully.
Bad driving skills. He’s going to fast into corners for a grippy circuit so if it is slippery he should be going even slower. Even if the track is slippery he has to adapt, and if he can’t he had to just slow down. He’s also accelerating in the middle of a corner which will make karts spin no matter what surface you have.
He’s gotta slow down then, he’s going way to fast into corners for normal conditions let alone slippery ones. If he can’t control it because it’s slippery maybe he should go slow.
