Todd just saw me pack my suitcase so he knows I have to leave on another business trip. HE hates it when I have to go. Todd is never left alone, he always has my wife and the other kitties with him. I try to comfort him and tell him why I have to leave.
Todd is a 7-year-old neutered male cat at the time of this video. Todd and his dad have been learning to communicate with each other since May of 2022 with the help of recordable buttons. We aim to let Todd express himself and tell me his wants and needs. Currently, Todd has 56 words on his soundboard. This channel is dedicated to Todd learning to “talk”. I was going to post this was how I understood Todd as well… then he reinforced how happy he is when you’re there, upstairs, near him and having cuddled him….. what a sweet, loving and smart furman … it’s both heartwarming and also very difficult knowing they miss us so… does your wife connect with him as much as you do?

As someone who has owned both I can truly say that not all cats are as affectionate as Todd, many are a lot more like Glamour and so if a person has never owned an affectionate cat they just will never "get it" as finding a not so affectionate dog is WAY HARDER to do. But I'll admit when you do get the affection of a cat you darn sure know it's because they love you and not because of an inborn instinct to please. But regardless thank goodness we have ppl who love each or both because there's no shortage of dogs and cats who need us. Everyone PLEASE have your pets spayed or neutered!!

Through the 33 years I have been married ALL of our cats have BEEN AFFECTIONATE if not to me then to my hubby. We each have had a few cats who have chosen just one of us and the others who have chosen both of us.

@@American_coutureI agree, every cat is unique, just as every dog is. Dogs generally are loyal and want to please you more. Cats on the other hand, know they don't have to and you'll love them anyway. Some cats are lap cats, others are more aloof and express their love in other ways.

All my cats were affectionate as well... some had a favorite family member, some were cuddlier than the others, but all of them definitely capable of feeling and showing affection. One of them looked like Glamour. I miss them dearly...

I disliked travel when I had my (late) cat as well. I’m side sleeper, and she always slept on my hip. The first night I was home from a trip, she would somehow always wrangle me into sleeping flat on my back, and I would wake up to her sleeping on my chest, her face in my face, motor going full blast. I miss her still, more than 15 years later. ♥️

"Dad go outside hunt food" is a really great explanation! I have found myself telling my cats and dogs that I have to go so that we have food and warm safe house. . . but my furry friends are less likely to understand the explanation!

Cats understand a lot. My daughter had surgery last year and because the surgery was on her neck she could not let the cat sleep with her the night before. she told him She was sick and had go to the "people vet" and he could not sleep with her. He stayed downstairs on the ottoman that night. Normally he follows her upstairs. After she came home, she had to sleep in the recliner as she could not lay flat, and he stayed by her side in the floor. He was worried about her "ouch" she had. Her incision was big.

My cat is fascinated with Todd too! There are some cats he particularly likes, but Todd's the first one he's "talked" to/about- he sometimes says "mreh!" in excitement while he's watching. Does your kitty like all cat videos, or does she have favourites as well?

Yesterday was the first time she was interested. What is funny is my cat Duchess looks a lot like Glamour.

Seeing your little Todlet reminds me of how much I miss my cat who passed several years ago 😢 I still can't bring myself to get another cat, like I was replacing him.. Beautiful ❤️ Little man. Just shows they know what's going on and what you say. I know my cat knew what I was always on about and I used to tell him things I never told anyone else. He was my best furry friend.

Think of it this way: instead of replacing him, you are honoring him by saving the life of another kitty that needs a safe, happy home. I've lost a few cats in my life, because my family always had them, and we took in many strays. After one of my all-time favorites passed, I'm convinced that he advised the Cat Distribution System to send me this scared, thin little kitten that I've now had for 14 years. Your cat would want you to have that kind of love again! 🩶🐈‍⬛️🐈

You had better be a superhero who has to go from time to time to save the world or adjust the sun's settings or something, because I just can't conceive of anything else that could be more important that keeping Todd content! Saw the surgeon today. Gotta get a CT scan to make sure he can get it all. It isn't going to be a picnic but I am completely confident I've got the best guy because he was the best guy last time. People say surgeons are (whatever) but you know, this guy is really NICE. You all be healthy! and have a safe trip Todd's Dad! Return covered in glory, even if you can't tell anybody how heroic you were.
