Please don’t feel like things are moving slowly. This channel is absolutely the best. Keep it up. When your mind and body are sore and tired, take a break. There is no shame in taking breaks .
Janey, I’m surprised this wasn’t the first project that you planted once your house was painted. It’s going to be amazingly. You should take your time to do it right and to spend time with your beautiful girls, never apologize for that!😊
Monrovia has a star jasmine, Madison Star Jasmine, that is zone 7-10. Which I’m very excited about! I live in zone 7! I’ve been curious about espalier for awhile now so I’m thrilled that you are showing how to set it up! I can’t wait to see yours grow!
Janey, You added more you to the house! So nice having Jason helping. What a great guy! I can see your home becoming a peaceful, blooming garden home of your dreams. Thank you for sharing your journey with us ❣️
This looks like a completely different house than the one you purchased. The colors are beautiful and the porch looks amazing, I mean it looks so good! The espalier already looks great and when you get to finish arranging the jasmine vines it will look marvelous. You should be very proud of how much you have done in such a short time. I know that you will get your gorgeous garden even better than the last, everything is going to be exceptional 🔥👏🏼🙌🏻😊
Oh Janey! The back deck looks awesome! I love the espellier. Your vision and hard work (Jason's too) is really showing. Love everything you have done. 💖💖💖🌻🌻🌻🌲🌲🌲
Gardening will always be there....your children grow up so fast, and it's important that you are there for them! The espalier is coming out so nice. We will wait with anticipation to see the finished project. The transformation of your new home is amazing!
Hi Janey🌺 . Well done . The star jasmine plants looks so beautiful their view will be amazing . Janey add other star jasmine near the bergola. I will make like this beautiful espalier. Have awonderful day 🌻🌺🌻
Thank you for the step by step directions. I'm in central MN so going with an English Ivy. I bought all of the items I need to begin putting the espalier up and will plant in the spring. You do not need to apologize for not finishing your project! Soccer is important!!
Oh I absolutely love Star Jasmine & this effort already looks amazing! I say take your time arranging the vines - that will be so satisfying at this point of your project!😎❣️
Well, thank you for igniting my plant passion. Yesterday I went to Green Acres in Roseville for the first time, and THEN we went to a second one. I now am the proud owner of MANY plants. I will be trying to do an espalayay (sp?) I have a hard time digging so I also ordered an auger for my drill. Wish me luck
I can’t thank you enough for all your videos. I am a beginner and your videos are so inspirational and have helped keep me motivated. I love what you have done with your new house. I look forward to watching your videos everyday, please don’t ever stop making them. Question, I’m in SoCal zone 9a, I have a south facing wall that desperately needs something on it. After watching this video I’m strongly considering an Espalier. The wall gets super hot during summer, any suggestions you have for what plant to use for my Espalier would be greatly appreciated. Also, I’m in my garden everyday multiple times a day, I love gardening and not afraid of maintenance.
I garden in zone 7 b and I have had star Jasmine for 6 years or more. It froze last year. Thought it died. Cut it back to the ground. And it's back. I have it growing on a Gazebo. It is beautiful and smells wonderful! Plan on doing this on my fence this year.
What a difference that painting the deck made, I love watching everything come together. We moved in our cabin 4 years ago and we started with a blank slate too.I feel your pain but love your progress. When we first moved in ours kids that are grown wondered what we were thinking, now they love it.
I enjoy so much every little thing you do and look forward to seeing this all come to fruition...I think this is definitely my favorite channel with my morning tea! So uplifting and inspirational!🌿 than you for taking us along your journey!
Not finishing makes you relatable Janey!! I love your mom priorities! I always had two or three garden projects going. I was a teacher at the kids school, I led choirs & had so much going on but like you I dropped everything when it was time for my kids…their sports… their activities-I always put them first. And now with a 38 and a 35 year old who are really kind, loving, well adjusted people I know it was worth it and will be for you too!!♥️
It's going to be beautiful!! I'm totally doing this on my house today!! I thought it always looked to intimidating. But easy peasy...I'm so EXCITED!! THANK YOU!!
This was exactly the tutorial I needed! I’ve always admired your espalier and now I know how to do it lol thank you so much for sharing I’ll tag you on IG once I install mine!
That is going to look so fabulous, especially on the light colored wall. This may sound silly to you, but I'm going to throw it out there. You mentioned how you like to scoot soil in the hole with your foot. I totally get that. I've done it for years. Here lies the issue. Now at 65, my knee hurts. A lot! Hindsight and all, but I "could" have been more mindful of how I handled things over the years. I really dont want you to struggle with knee pain later in life. Scooting dirt with the foot at a sideways angle, I am told, is not good for the knees. Just a FYI from my orthopedic doctor.
It's going to be gorgeous 😍...I live in Portland Oregon zone 7 and I have 2 potted star jasmine that have lasted at least 10 years in the pots! Also have one on the back fence (in ground). This last winter I thought the frost took my potted jasmine but I fed them and they came back! They are tough plants. You are going to love them.
Can't wait to see it all finished. It's going to be beautiful. Paint looks fabulous! Have you considered eventually moving the Hoselink to the side of the house? Enjoying all your videos.
I have 5 Firethorn (Pyracantha) shrubs along a purpose built wood support (like a fence) about 25’ long. White flowers in spring, orange berries in fall. Planted 2020 and just coming into its own. It’s along the driveway and gets a lot of comments. Great for someone who likes to prune. 😊 Espalier is not necessarily meant just for vining plants. The idea is you select branches to grow in the direction you need and prune away all others. Many shrubs and trees are used for classic espalier.
Thanks for another great video and I always enjoy coming by and seeing what you were going to share today. Hugs and kisses from grandma, Sandy, and Debbie.
Janey there is actually an eye hook bit that you can get for your drill. Maybe you can get one before your next espalier. This turned out so beautifully!!! I always look forward to your videos❤
Wow, things are coming along. The back deck looks great. I would take out the front deck and replace it with a ground level patio. That would also solve your multiple level problems. I would get rid of the propane tank and just use electric for cooking. I have gas in my NY home and electric in Florida and I like electric stoves better now. An electric cook top gives you another flat surface in the kitchen to use.
Your espalier at your old house inspired me to do one of my own and I finally picked up the plants yesterday… went with a Confederate Jasmine and can’t wait to see it take shape!
Wow Janey! Your new home is really looking more and more beautiful everytime I look at your new vlog. That espalier is a gorgeous addition to that wall. 🌿Take your time, the Jasmine won't go anywhere. Enjoy your soccer! Have a wonderful day. - Evita😊
Gosh now we have wait til Monday to see the end result 😊 I know you're super excited to finish, as we are to see it. Yes priorities, my 12 yr old grandson plays soccer, just had a game last night. I hope your girls win every game 😊🤞 You guys have a wonderful weekend.
The deck is so much more beautiful!!! I think you're awfully industrious to tackle the espalier. It's such a lot of work but that's why you're so successful and popular! It's definitely what that wall needed. Great job!
That soil looks tough! You should invest in a broad fork if you haven't done so already. It's great for breaking up and aerating compacted clay soil. And it's pretty fun to use!
You are doing great… it’s good you’ll take your time and that’s the part. You really enjoy making it pretty. You’ll be refreshed on a new day and enjoy the whole process. Thank you for keeping it real and teaching us.
You have accomplished sooooo much! I am in awe of you. Go to soccer. They grow up way too fast. Each day deserves to be treasured and enjoyed! Happy family weekend.
At least you got the hard part done, and now you can just have fun "painting" the wall with the jasmine. Can't wait to see it next week. Have a great weekend!
Thank you for explaining about the star jasmine sleep, creep, leap because i have a star jasmine and i was thinking man its taking forever to grow now i know ❤️ thanks again
