IT'S FINALLY HAPPENING! 

Me and my best friend watched you guys religiously. When he got diagnosed with stage four colon cancer you were a bright spot in his bleak outlook. Well he passed last September and I’ve found it incredibly hard to watch you guys due to bringing up hard memories of better times. This is seriously the first video I’ve watched since last year and so much has happened and changed. I’m so happy for you guys and all you’ve done. From your properties growing to your family growing. Thanks for being there for my friend and giving him a smile on his face when he was in so much pain. God bless.

You both are a true testament to the power of family. And both parents in the home. I love your sarcasm, and the way that you can tease with each other and do so in front of your children. The example you sent for them and the way you love each other in front of them.

Sonotubes would have come in handy for your gate posts. Could have set them in place, back filled and then placed the post and cement in place.

Spencer seems so at home on the mountain, as do you! Beau seemed a little bit impatient with wanting to go! Those two are both so cute! The transformation of the property is nothing short of amazing. I can only imagine the feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction for you two. Kenz and Spenser, I have always loved your sense of humor and it was rich in this vlog. Nice job of editing all the random scenes and aerials into this. The kids are growing and so is Kenzie, in a good way of course 😉. I like Spensers sense of adventure (go pro on the cutter) and willingness to go outside the lines, he an I are a lot alike in that way. Your road building reminded me of the road my dad had to improve on our 40 acres in 1957 from the highway to the old cabin, about a 1/2 mile. This was during the summer and a dirt road was good enough. That fall my parents were able to purchase a 8' x 40' mobile home to house two adults and five kids. It was placed about 300 from the highway. Part of the property had high quality "dg" (decomposed granite). As we were pretty poor, we could not afford having a dump truck get loaded with dg (up the hill near the old cabin) and placed upon our access drive to the trailer. So we took our 56' chevy truck up the hill many times and loaded dg with shovels into the back of the pickup. Needless to say this loading by hand lasted a few years to build the base of our driveway maybe 4 to 6 inches. Needless to say, during the winter, us four boys got to shovel snow so our car could get close to the trailer. By about 1964, my dad (plasterer by trade) built a 3 bed home next to the trailer. The double car garage became the 4th bedroom, reserved for the oldest boy among 7 kids. Access was what made your land usuable. Kid memories.

Gate post looks good. Great idea to pour a low spread footing and then cover the remainder of the exposed post up to the grade with a sonotube and more concrete to to encapsulate it and prevent corrosion. Keep the dream moving forward!

How can 19 minutes go by so fast! With momma bear and her cubs it seems like the wrong Season for the little ones. But, maybe Texas is different then the PNW. Loved seeing the wildlife! ❤

Frickin Awesome!!! Love the fall colors! Lots of wild life there, and it looked like a bear cub. Bears can mean trouble, but bear cubs can mean extra trouble. Be extra vigilant when out hiking because if you get between a momma bear and her cub, she will most definitely attack. I grew up in Yosemite where there are lots of bears, and seen first hand how ferocious a mama bear can be when anyone gets between the mama and baby bear. Love you guys to the moon and back!

Should make easier bush cut in spring with gravel and crush down. Beautiful area and would be hard to leave. Black Bears tend to coexist well unless hungry. I learned early in my adult life that if you are going to install a gate post dig a square hole not a round hole because once the hinges start to get tight a gate post in a round hole will turn the post instead of the gate hinges

I think what I love seeing is the great lives your dogs have! The great outdoors, plenty of exercise and traveling with you.. I often wonder where they sleep though, I mean at the first home you built.. I've not seen them inside since the house was completed, I don't imagine that space can accommodate them as well.. I wish we were younger and more physically fit to build a container home and now being in the mountains and out of Texas. You just put the cherry on top!!! I can't wait to see what you have planned!! Honestly, I'd pour a whole yard of concrete if not more including inside the post to handle that much weight, and add a 45 degree brace the same size welded to it and the bottom in the same concrete block to keep it from sagging.
