Every athlete is non humble since high school. I'm talking every single one. .. u ever met mlb player? U ever met an NFL athlete? None of them are actually humble
His speech was pointless & cringey NOBODY thought LeBron was retiring & He's broken multiple records of most loses in the finals, missed 3s, missed free throws, etc. The Goat? 😂😂😂
He really needs the feeling of love and being #1. Probably goes back to when he was a little kid. People who watched Jordan, and Kobe will never think he's the GOAT. His finals record ruined it.
@@jeffreywilliams6386 funny because I remember they posted a segment on RU-vid of Dan wondering why so many people don’t like lebron. Seems like even he can’t defend him anymore
@@jefferybrockman3252Who gives af about politics? Conservatives that complain about him are just as big of, if not more hypocritical. He wasn’t well liked by a lot prior to 2017, because of reasons like the top comment mentioned. Not to mention his fanboys too & the media
I've been saying since "the Decision" that people don't hate on LeBron because of jealousy or race or any of the stuff his delusional fans think. It'd because of moves like "the Decision" , coming to press conference with a cast after you averaged 30 in the series, calling yourself the GOAT, and shit like this right here.
@@datsapaddlin obviously KD. What other player got hate for joining a team the fans/media thought he shouldn't have. joined. Seriously. Barkley called that man a failure. Two time champ. Two time finals MVP. Regular season MVP. Scoring title. Multiple first second and third team selections but he's an ABJECT FAILURE because he joined the warriors?
Lebron not show up? C'mon lebron will never pass up the opportunity to be in front of a camera and microphone. "lucky for you guys that day isn't today " please lebron couldn't live without the spotlight. Lebron is an all time great player but let's not act like the NBA started with lebron and can't go on without him. Lebron needs the NBA more than the NBA needs lebron. Lebron acts like he's the first player to win 4 championships. He's not even the only player in his ERA to win 4 titles and some could argue Steph curry is more beloved than lebron .
Did anybody sincerely believe that LeBron was going to retire? Did anyone honestly believe this guy was going to pass up a year long farewell tour where everyone would further grovel and fawn at his greatness all season long, by just abruptly walking away from the game? Dude is one of the biggest attention w**res is sports history. No way a guy like that just fades away into the sunset with little notice.
Since Kobe had a whole farewell tour is he an attention whore too? Since your a lebron hater ima guess your answers no right ? Anything lebron does gets hated on lol.
Not to offend any Caucasian sensibilities but he never said he was going to retire. The media manipulated your weak emotions with their own fabricated narratives because they make it a priority to prey on your envy, insecurities and animosity. LeBron has never breached a contract so retirement was never an option and never something he said he was doing.
@@Hoops24 if you REALLY wanted Lebron gone his name wouldnt be in yall's mouth DAILY (yours included) ... Lebron's the only reason yall get attention .. 😂
Are you kidding Lebron? You have been cheating the game for a long time already because you have been unable to contribute to the game on defense for years. Walking back on D to save energy is cheating the game as you say. By your own standard, you should have already been retired for quite a while!
I think you're being kind. Teaming up with other all-stars, jumping from team to team always trying to stack the deck in your favor, flopping and "allegedly" using substances that aren't legal.
Not many will agree with me on this, but, for me, hes ruined NBA. I hate the whole super team and stars going from team to team to team. I was a big Lakers fan, but I didn't want LeBron in LA. I have watched maybe half a game collectively since LeBron came to LA. Sadly, maybe I wasn't a diehard Lalers fan, but I'm just an LA fan, and I stopped watching basketball altogether since his arrival.
@@JumboJuneauI agree with you, he’s basically the amalgamation of everything people don’t like about todays game. He load manages, brings politics into sports, flops a lot, has no consistent hustle or effort on defense, has jumpstarted the culture of leaving your teams and to top it off he made it normal to have awesome stats, lose and convince people it should be respected. These are all facts
Lbj scripting everything about himself. First was using her daughter and wife. Then like he need espy to let us know he wouldn't retire. And the worst when he broke the news while being sweept. Ridiculous
LeBron being LeBron. I cannot wait until he retires and we can stop pandering to him. He's already tricked most of you into thinking he's somehow #2 all time... Excited for victor Giannis and Joker running the league
I'm a HUGE LeBron fan and defender, but man that speech was tough to watch not going to lie. Just take the high road my man, you are literally accepting an award for becoming the all-time leading scorer, we all know you are great we don't need you to remind us.
@undead < you too WEAK to defend Lebron ... you said you was a Lebron defender 😂🤣 you aint no HUGE lebron fan either, the only thing huge is "your own ego" (you aint fooling nobody)
For such an incredible career that man has led , such achievement such legacy and such accumulated wealth to be this petty, narcissistic and contrived is kinda sad. Dude has daddy issues , no one was there to say well done son
*@Derpfriar* 👎 Lebron's mom has said: "well done son" Lebron's entire life .. Gloria has 2 brothers, Lebron's uncle Terry and his Uncle Curt, lebron has mention many times the valuable lessons his 2 uncles instilled 1 example: they'd always gave Lebron money and would tell Lebron save most of it (lebron's a penny pinchers to this day) apparently "well done Lebron" was often said. another MALE role model of Lebron's, was Frank Walker (and his wife pam) who helped Lebron get thru elementary school while Gloria worked TWO jobs. Frank was the one who introduced Lebron to basketball & football .. well done Lebron was said OFTEN because Lebron did well, OFTEN .. (in "both" sports "and" school) another MALE role model from the Akron church community, Dru Joyce form a basketball team and recruited Lebron to play on the team with his son .. WE ALL know how WELL DONE that was ..."and" how OFTEN well done was said to lebron ..
Look it dont take a top psychologist to know that this man is looking for affirmation from someone that is clearly not giving it to him and I can only think of 3 prime suspects. 1. God 2. MJ 3. His dad. If its not Daddy , its MJ but my moneys on Daddy
“Can I play without cheating this game?” He’s been disrespecting the game since he formed the Miami super team, flopping, whining about fouls and calling himself the GOAT. Please retire so someone can restore dignity back to the game.
@@calwatch1496 bunch of participation award winners. One guy I was arguing with was giving Bron flowers because he made it to the WCF this year. WTF?? Since when is coming nowhere near the chip an accomplishment.
Yes when LeBron took that Cavs team to the Finals was impressive BUT my favorite player AI took a possibly worse 76ers team to the Finals and Stole a game from the Kobe & Shaq Lakers while LeBron's Cavs got swept. IMO AI's was more impressive.
Exactly! That’s the greatest false narrative being regurgitated of Alltime. Nobody else would’ve taken that team to the finals. Biggest lie ever told ‼️😂
Nobody would've taken that team to the finals lmaooo Lebron lead damn near every series in every major static lol. That's scoring, passing, rebounding. AI didn't do that, he didn't lead both teams in pts, assists, rebounds anything smh y'all sound insane lol
As impressive as it was for both players to drag those teams to a finals, lets be honest, the Eastern conference as a whole in BOTH of those post seasons was about as terrible as any other season maybe ever. It was a for gone conclusion that whoever was coming out of the east would basically be food for whoever came out of the West. If either the 01 Sixers or the 07 Cavs were in the WC, they likely wouldn't of made it past the 2nd round, and that's being generous.
@@Riles3152you must have not watched the 2001 season, the east was brutal & AI had to get through two 7 game series with multiple injuries to get to the finals.
@@justarandominternetdude2579 I know man, but I was willing to cut him some slack. This shit is getting to be a bit much tho. When he said “lucky for y’all I’m not retiring” I was like wtf.
I knew LeBron wasn't going to retire and everyone that knows his history knows he would never retire without having a Farwell tour with the media talking about him every 5 seconds for that entire season this is also why a lot of fans dislike him because he's always begging for attention
Lebron so badly wants everyone to claim he's the GOAT. Thats why he feels the need to say it himself and say he doesnt get respect. He will never surpass Jordan. He has one of the greatest careers, but his losing record in the finals alone will not let him be the GOAT. He just needs to except it.
I just don't understand why there would be a guy like him to need to be the 1 best in history. Even if he is, so what? Giving him extra money for that? Is he making more money than MJ? MJ got his own brand, Lebron got some media companies. Best in history is totally an open ended question. This guy got too much time on his hands. He should start practicing for next season so that he won't got time to worry about this nonsense
I remembered when rumors were running about MJs first retirement. There was a strong buzz in Chicago and the world for that matter. Everyday we hoped wasn't the day. LeBron actually thought he can replicate that. Too damn funny. 😂
Lebron is one of the greatest of all time but my issue with his speech was that there was 0 humility when he said “you’re going to respect me” and then did that crown motion at the end. It was very cringy and dan is right, he doesn’t need to be needy. If he accepts the award, says thank you to everybody and walks off it means a lot more. And Then his wife introducing him as the Goat was just weird too. Just feels like everything he does is so scripted and not genuine
Loves to control the narrative. Deep down he knows if he didn’t make that move to the Heat his career would have been a lot less decorated. In their first season together and By natural selection Wade was the best player in the finals, could you have imagine the Heat ended up winning that series and Wade gets FMVP? LeBron tanked that finals for a reason because he wanted to be the mvp if Miami wins that championship. That could have changed the course of history. He’s lucky d Wade is one of the most unselfish players to ever play the game and voluntarily took a backseat the following years to get LeBron going. It was a pivotal turning point in his career
@@PheTECWhat player doesn’t like to control the narrative? Don’t you pick the narrative for him you prefer? You think he choked on purpose to the Mavs? So you’re giving him an extra ring, in your eyes he has 5. He went to the Heat because the Cavs owner was horrible, Pat Riley knows how to build a championship.
LeBron has an inferiority complex because deep down he knows hes not embraced as a ruthless killer/winner like MJ or Kobe were regarded. But you know what LeBron? Its Ok. You're a great great player and getting caught up in something you're not is just a waste of your time. You dont have to be the greatest. All these rankings are stupid anyway. Bill, MJ, Kareem etc let's just say the Great Players Club. And you're in. 🎉
he knows he'll never be considered as good as jordan. he knew it the minute he lost to the mavs in the finals, but he created a new narrative that he's the goat after beating the warriors 1 time in 4 tries, and breaking the scoring record.
Deep down ??? So even though you have NEVER met Lebron even once …. In your delusional mind you feel you know what’s happening “deep down” 😂😂 and then u state the name MJ and Kobe , even though bron was one of the last ppl to speak to Kobe before he passed bcuz he passed him on the all time scoring lists. Kobe nor MJ would ever RESPECT YOU. First time Kobe met MJ he told him he would whoop his ass in 1 on 1, and the only thing Lebron said was an acceptance speech
LeBron has and will live his entire life and career in the shadow of MJ. Demanding respect goes over like a fart in church and will be shown the same consideration I'm sure.
Lebron already passed mj. It’s old head weirdos like you that group up to hate on lebron for end of season interviews and espy speeches lmao talk basketball not awards shows/interviews dissecting his every word like you a professional psychiatrist.. He has the most minutes played in nba history and y’all clowning him for thinking about retirement??? Not to mention he played for months with an injury. Be serious y’all some hypocrites
If that's true- then the entire NBA will live in Jordan's shadow. Actually those two men came out of two different vaginas. No man lives in any man's shadow... That's a silly basic take. He's his own man is what I'm trying to tell u. Who shadow do u live in? Who's shadow does Eric snow live in ? Get it ¿ He's just a man. ... Just like Jordan . Who's had an amazing career
@drainly1191 there’s tons of channels on youtube with whole subscriber bases of people who don’t have lebron top 10…and i never said anything about hating or disliking anybody
Exactly! If he was the Goat like MJ really is he wouldn’t have to beg for respect and shamelessly have his wife call him the Goat at an award show! LESPN is exposed again! 😂
To sum it up: “ A Lion never has to tell you it’s a Lion - bc you already know what it’s capable of. “ I guess he showed/proved to us that he is NOT a lion - he constantly has to tell us how great he is is!!!
What are you talking about? A lion has to constantly roar to remind the other animals he's around and that he's king of the jungle otherwise they kind of start to forget a little bit.
That’s the thing.. manufactures attention.. and then when Malone makes a joke about retiring, and other people bring the Lakers up because the media won’t quit talking about them, the rebuttals are always “he lives rent free in your head.” 😂 Like no he’s the one manufacturing all of this attention like that one guy said
@@5IvanDrago5 not really... they grew up poor and didn't have a lot but Larrys dad was around until he was ready to start college when he unfortunately took his own life. @@5IvanDrago5 it’s also well documented that Bird watched his dad put a swollen foot into a boot daily and go work to put food on the table. He may have been a drunk who ended up killing himself but the work ethic was instilled by example
The most decorated? LeBron? How? in 2007, he played against two teams in the playoffs that didn't have a winning record. That 2007 run is severely overrated.
Why does everything have to be done the way certain older players did things? Lebron's his own main living in this current world with social media, 24 hr. news, the internet, cell phones, he's just giving his fans what they want and providing entertainment clips for the media. He's the GOAT and I have no problem with what he did.
If I were Lebron’s son then I’d definitely be the odd one out in the family because I would have told my him “No dad you don’t need this” and to my family “no I do not want to stand up there for this cringy shit”
People should respect the things Lebron has accomplished in his career but saying "You will respect me" is a false assumption. Respecting you as a person is separate from respecting your accomplishments. Apparently he doesn't realize that those are two different concepts.
@@yungking1985 I can't think of one, but if we go way back the list would be long. I remember, when I was a kid, 60's/70's, Ali took a lot of heat for "I Am the Greatest". But over time, he became beloved. Maybe because Ali had a sense of comedy with Howard Cosell. I don't know if that is a fair comparison, but it popped in my head as I started to respond. Thanks man.
@@cliffpeebles9705 absolutely not a good comparison, Ali was in a individual combat sport hyping himself up for fight promotion purposes and also playing mind games with his opponents. Ali’s greatest act took on a life of its own and nobody could argue it because he beat Sonny and was on top of the world as the champ. With Lebron it feels so forced and desperate, LBJ knows he’s not honestly viewed on the MJ level and darn sure not largely view as superior to MJ. And yes Ali as handsome, intelligent, witty, charismatic etc. Lebron is just corny/cringy.
@@yungking1985 I'm with you. I think it could be argued that boxing faded when Ali retired. Now maybe MMA had something to do with that, but Ali WAS boxing. I can't think of another example of a player being the sport. Foreman created excitement, Duran and Hagler, some others, but nothing like Ali.
Remember how Kobe gave himself a nickname 15 years into his career or when he had a press conference to admit he cheated on his wife while being accused of rape, or how he thru Shaq under the bus, or that summer when he had a tantrum and went on every radio station around to blast everybody in the organization for the team losing while taking no responsibility himself?
At least everyone can see now that LeBron's completely delusional + he's so oblivious, he can't see that "staying" actually helps all of the other teams, with "legit" chances at winning a championship next season
Something that could have easily been a post on Twitter, Instagram, etc. But decided to make an awards ceremony celebrating other athletes all about himself. The respect line warrants a double-barreled middle finger. You don't demand it, you earn it.
He set it up perfectly. He got it out there after the playoffs so people will talk then at the big stage, he'll tell everyone he's not retiring. This dude should sign up with the WWE.😂
@@larrybaxter7771 so THAT's what angers you 🤣 you gotta tell people to move on? why havent yall moved on BEFORE NOW .. nothing Lebron does or says should draw your attention YET you're HERE on a Lebron topic 🤣
The problem isn’t the host. I’ve never seen such an entitled and uptight group of ppl. Unlike singers and actors, many of these athletes have been pedestaled since elementary school and don’t know how to not take themselves too seriously
Someone needs to tell Lebron that true “greatness” is not designed, planned out nor orchestrated. Real greatness comes from the combination of extraordinary accomplishments combined with the recognition from others. Lebron has an amateur team handling him; they might be rich, but for such a great player with a clean record, the amount of hate he gets is the work of having an incompetent management team.
If LeBron could learn how to pronounce "ask" instead of saying "axe" there might be hope for all the young people that pay attention to him. Think bigger LeBron. Dream bigger.
He’s worth a billion dollars and has a beautiful wife and family while you work an hourly job, don’t have a passport and have yellow teeth. I think he’s doing just fine.
For all his success he still has the mind of a child.. the need to be loved by everyone at all times. And when he doesnt get it he forces it on people.. by telling everyone how great he is, demanding respect, telling people they will miss him. Its tantrums of a child.
Because it doesn't need defending. He had the stage, the mic, and the platform and he used it...don't whine about it because he's the lion and decided to roar. That's what GOAT's do!
Well, I guess I gave Lebron too much benefit of the doubt. I thought if he was going to announce retirement or not he would do it quietly. BUT NOPE, he had to do it in front of an audience of his 'peers' like most of them really care and on camera for the world to see. He truly has learned nothing from "The Decision" and every other "attention grabbing" tactic he has done. He REALLY believes he is the "GOAT" and he thinks he deserves to be treated like it.
Lebron has always been very insecure. This is just evidence of it. He can enjoy this news cycle he created of the entire sports world making fun of how stupid he looked.
Thank you for calling out Lebron aka 4th QTR Sue Storm's BS. Ego is an understatement with Lebron and he has to be the most inauthentic superstar athlete EVER. And his line about not cheating the game was so cringe. Why does one have to defend that if there isn't a kernel of truth there?
LeBron has always been cringe Like he’s always got something to prove It’s almost an act of desperation for acceptance. I think he’ll always be butt hurt about being second fiddle to the real 🐐 MJ. That’s why he’ll always do stupid shit like “the decision” n selfish stuff like last night.
One thing u missing. People all over the world talk bad about him like he's not even good. I have heard men call him sorry. As if he's not even top 30 ever. So it's like he's standing up for himself
No one thought he was going to retire. Most people who watch the NBA knew exactly why he pulled that little stunt. We’ve seen it before when he gets eliminated or when he isn’t getting enough attention. And most goats don’t need to constantly tell everyone they are the goat. That’s always been his problem.
ESPN has been a trainwreck, _at the very least_ since descending on LeBron's high school basketball court and declaring him the "next best NBA player of all time." They _had_ to make it happen after that proclamation. Then they, not LeBron, gave us "The Decision," which was a colossal flop. Since then, ESPN has steadily ridden the guy's jock. Regardless of how much he travels. Ignoring the fact that, while he is currently the all-time leading scorer, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar only took a handful of three-pointers in his career, and that was at the end of his career, and he did so when the game was in "garbage time," as the late, great Chick Hearn memorably put it. Dan is correct. And Dan _would know._ Because he was a pioneer in the development of ESPN. That is, _before_ they turned into the acrid tire fire that they are today.
It was very self-centered, and if you follow Lebron's career, he does that time for time. It is like he doesn't feel accepted enough, so he needs to build this mantra around himself "Goat" "King," "Not Retired," etc. Instead of giving a plain and simple speech he gave a fucking The Decision vol.2. He's a team player, but he loves to brag about himself quite a lot. I'm not wrong. I agree with Dan.
_"The day i cant give everything on the floor is the day im done. _*_LUCKY FOR YOU GUYS_*_ today is not that day!!"_ (waits for thunderous applause and standing ovation....) _chirp. chirp._
That's some bullshit. If he'd walk up and say, hey yo, thanks. I feel so blessed to play hoops and for my fsmily and fans. Thanks again. Peace! Nooooobody'd be clownin him as the arrogant, grandiose mf he is. That's what's up. Get an ear
No, the weirdos are the ones staying on Lebron's jock for every single thing he does and lashing out against those who don't buy his bullshit hook, line and sinker. And who says it's that serious? They were laughing through the whole segment. YOU are the weirdo who sounds butthurt about it.
Crazy to hear people realize what we been saying forever! I hated Kobe and I thought he was a hog but Lebron made me appreciate him so much! He should have kept his mouth shut and balled. He is not the goat and he hurts his own image on the court time after time.
Its amazing yall say LeBron shouldn't do something yet the sports media has been living off of LeBron for the past 20yrs. As Jay Z said in a verse we'll see what happens when he is gone.
