I haven't heard anyone mention that AR had the same injury on the same shoulder in HS. I'm wondering if that's part of the move to do surgery. Clean up the old injury/scar tissue and fix new damage

Not only Andrew luck but RG3 was having a great career until he injured his knee and then came back to fast and reinjured his knee and then came back too fast. He completely blew his knee out and ended his career. The now Washington commanders were a rushing him back and pressuring him to come back before his body was ready.

Part of me thinks he has no intention of coming back this yr and just wants to keep morale up for the team (or maybe it's an ego thing idk) Would be really dumb for him to play this yr, shouldn't even be walking on it, regardless of him being able to, only increases reinjury likelihood.

Don't let Shefty tell you what does and doesn't need surgery. As someone who is currently in residency and wants to go into Sports Med I can tell you that the treatment for a Grade III AC joint sprain is "controversial" and a case-to-case scenario for who needs surgery and who does not. That's probably why he's seen so many specialists because even the specialists don't agree. Grade II no surgery Grade IV surgery - Grade III is a weird grey area.

While I've never been AR levels of in shape... I got the same kind of injury my Senior year of high-school doing tackle drills at practice. The doc told me it's just how you hit the ground. Basically I hit and my right shoulder got driven into the ground. I felt something and when I went to get up my arm didn't work. Took about 3 months to heal. The worst was learning to wipe left handed.

As a Colts fan, I'm very worried about AR's health long-term, but I think it's wild that Pat is already assuming the dude is just a quitter because of some report he might elect to have surgery. Just weird for a former -player to talk like that about another player choosing to have surgery. He even cites the bad locker-room from last year as if AR is going to get surgery because of culture issue, it's bizarre.

Yeah Pat’s been pretty greasy about how he talks about players. Frankly I think the Colts may be dodging a bullet. I’m a Gator fan and I’ve watched Richardson for a few years now. He’s NOT that good. Does he have a cannon, Yes, he can throw a mile. The problem is he’s not consistent And he gets rattled easily. I honestly don’t see him lasting long in the NFL. Running QBs typically don’t last long unless they can adjust to the pocket which few do.
@adamcupp9869
@adamcupp9869 8 месяцев назад
Agreed 100%. He's exciting to watch, but his style of play just isn't conducive with a long-term career in the NFL. The outlook is already looking petty bleak. A concussion and possible shoulder surgery and he's not even halfway through his first NFL season. I'm really rooting for the kid, but unfortunately I just don't see him being the guy. Really hope I'm wrong though.
@codyb.3015
@codyb.3015 8 месяцев назад
"dodging a bullet" because they now have a 4th overall who may not be able to play long-term. WILD take. In the short time he played, he was clearly better than most QBs. I don't care how he played with your garbage Florida team that had literally nobody to throw the ball to and dropped passes more than any other team. AR was exceeding expectations before the injuries, but you clearly didn't watch any of his games, bitter UF fan blaming the wrong person for your collapsing program.

AR LEFT 3 OUT OF 4 GAMES, NOT 4 OF 5 BECAUSE HE NEVER EVEN PLAYED 5 GAMES. He left Week 1 vs. Jacksonville with a bruised knee. He left Week 2 vs. Houston with a concussion. He didn't dress for Week 3 vs. Baltimore because he was in the concussion protocol. Week 4 vs. Rams he played the entire game and took the team to OT. Week 5 vs. Tennessee he got the sprained shoulder and never returned to the game. Before Week 6 vs. Jacksonville he was placed on IR where he will remain until he is cleared to play again. In total AR played roughly 11-12 quarters of football this season.

Yeah this seems really odd to me. I sprained my AC joint while lifting and I just took a month off from the gym and just did shoulder mobility exercises and rest and I was back in the gym 6 weeks later with full ROM and no pain. Surgery seems way overkill to me for an AC sprain.
