Great song penned by David Foster and Carole Bayer Sager! Foster plays keyboards ! Synths Programmed by Steve Porcaro ! Wah wah watson guitar ! John Robinson drums and Louis Johnson bass! Quincy Jones production! Patti Austin sounds so similar to Micheal! Brilliant song!
Yeah that was a woman singing duo with him. Patti Austin Some other songs that you want to hear are some from the J5/Jacksons too such as Time Waits For No One, Destiny, Push Me Aeay, Rockin Robin, and so much more. Solo MJ listen to Lady In My Life, For All Time, Someone Put Your Handout, Butterflies, Heaven Can Wait, Speechless, On The Line, Whatever Happens, Gone Too Soon, Who Is It. If you want to hear MJ rap listen to 2000 Watts and. Shout.
It’s the phenomenal Patti Austin, never knew this duet, I understand how this must have come about, if Quincy J., was behind this track, she is the god daughter of him. You should listen to Patti Austin doing a duet with the late James Ingram.
You’ll find quite a few songs throughout his discography that have other artists featured but not official listed as a feature like we’re used to seeing. I’ve always found it interesting because he did it specifically with Paul McCartney but no one else that I’ve noticed. He also featured on other people’s songs without being credited and if anyone knows why he chose to do it that way, I’d love to know. To me it’s always a cool surprise though.
I think he chose to that because like On I always feel like someone is watching me, He did it for the surprise aspect. But he credits them for lyrics etc..!
Hi, I’m going through your whole playlist and just thought I’d let you know in case no one else has mentioned it, the layered sound MJ used that you asked about-he called it ‘The wall of sound’. 😊
@@SephPlays yeah it’s a pretty accurate way of describing how all the layers are built up like bricks in a wall imo. If you’re interested in how he does it, a man on here called Chris Leipe or something examines all the multitracks individually and there’s some surprising stuff in them. Thanks for making such great videos-it’s like experiencing being a new fan again through you!
Ohh definitely! Only thing thats gonna stop me from listening to all his songs in chronological order is copyright 🛑 Hopefully i never have that problem haha
Its a duet but As you go more into Mikes other music he definitely can sing notes like Women especially in Smooth Criminal, Speed Demon etc.. He was counted as a high tenor who mostly sings in Falsetto! Which you will definitely see on Thriller, and Bad etc...
