Shopping at the local fav grocery, I bagged my stuff, got home & went over the receipt. The roasts purchased were on sale but charged reg (higher) price, another item was charged twice, & small mangos chrg’d at the larger one’s price. The total over charged was over $38. I went back to the store, met with the manager, she credited my $38 overcharge and refunded the charges for both roasts! Compliments of the store. I was amazed, thank you HEB! Keep a close eye on prices when checking out!

Dan, I’m 78 years old. I remember getting haircuts as a child in 1960 for $1.50. In the day, dollars were “Silver Certificates”. You could take the “Certificate@ to any bank and trade it for silver quarters. That $1.50 haircut represented about 1.2 ounces of pure silver. At today’s silver spot price that would be $36.00 in fiat US Federal Reserve “Debt Notes”. Does getting a haircut take any more labor than it did in 1960? I think not. Ask yourself, “why has the US debased our once precious metal backed Dollar for this now almost worthless derivative debt note system?”.

I remember a nurse at my former doctor’s office told me that they were reluctant to switch all their files to digital because of this issue. She said they would rather pay the fine instead because it’s less of a headache. I work for a Fortune 500 healthcare provider and they were hacked a few years ago so I know the threat is real.🧐

My car broke down and I need it for work. They sat on it for 3 days. I had to call them on the 3rd day and ask about the status. They said a bad battery and now they will proceed. They charged me $650 for a new battery. He says its the best battery he could find. Of course it is because it is also the most expensive. It sat there for 3 days and then labor was like $400 for one hour. They think that they are now Gods. There is no negotiation about the battery I will get. It is going to be the most expensive one. Period. I'm done with the automobile industry. I'm also entirely done with the human interaction industry. Bunch of snakes.

Friend works for a Ford Dealership. Hasn't been able to do ANYTHING for the past 4 days. They are not expecting it to be fixed for at least a month. The company is now talking about layoffs. Also, we get daily notices in the mail saying our information was "compromised" by one company or another. I mean, it is so bad that I got two in one day. They're like credit card offers now...in the trash they go. Oh, you got my personal information: who doesn't? I'm waiting for the day that the government gets hacked.

I'm fortunate. I live on the Kansas side of the Kanssas City metro. My favorite BBQ is owned by a brother & sister and staffed, mainly, by multiple generations of family members. They do a great job of offering top grade food and maintaining their prices ..., AND they offer discounts for cash! As for the quality of the food, it is good enough for the BBQ Council of Kansas City to dine there, monthly. The council may dine elsewhere, too, but Smoketown BBQ is on a recurring, monthly circuit.

I make my own bread, rolls, hot dog and hamburger buns - and they are more delicious than any in a store. I grow all my own herbs and tomatoes, garlic, and onions in containers. I am now looking into grown a half dozen lettuces in pots as well. I cannot grow anything in the ground or build raised garden beds due to living in HOA. And yes, we have tattle tales all over the neighborhood. But at least I have my garden in 5 gallon and 2 gallon pots. I make everything on my own except milk, creamer, chicken and tuna. I am hoping to grow radishes and bell peppers as well. One day I would love to buy some acreage and do all my own gardening the right way. I dont even know if I can or will retire as it is toooo far away. It is just one day at a time. Looking to move out of the country at some point and NEVER EVER coming back.

I'm in an older neighborhood. No HOA. Bought new in 90. Our lot is only half acre. We back up to woods. People are shocked when they get beyond the privacy fence. Big gardens chickens solar water catchment. You can do so much in the right place. The neighborhood walkers have no idea that all our bushes and flowers feed us too. For 1k you can do a shallow well in the yard too. Comes in a kit. Good luck to you and I pray that your "right place" will present itself.

Dan, love your channel… it’s always a balance that companies have to make when it comes to cybersecurity and performing all other functions. Historically it’s been difficult to get funding and also board level support. Now it’s much easier since these attacks are so commonplace. These projects take time but I agree that there needs to be a greater sense of urgency, for all companies regardless of whether they are private or government…

So as an individual, if you are NOT currently seeking credit from somewhere, you must call all credit agencies and freeze your credit. If this is done, it will help resolve issues with scammers most of the time. Other things to do is to own assets not in your name. Business names should be fairly genetic with holding company's companies fronting businesses you own. Move money out of those business accounts whenever possible to shelter funds. It's a headache to an extent but creates a way to shelter liability and funds.....

United health has one phone number with many lines attached. If you receive a call from them it usually comes from a secondary line. My phone identifys it as UNKNOWN CALLER. There are many businesses that have this problem. Banks, my investment rep, the Doctors ofc. Fixing the problem is probably a simple job, perhaps repetitive. Obviously the IT department doesn’t know what they are doing, or doesn’t care. Responsibility for knowing how the equipment worked was removed in the late 90’s, early 2000’s.

I had a call yesterday from supposed agent of UnitedHealth Care. I asked her why she was calling She said she was calling to verify information, then proceeded to ask for the name of the subscriber. I told this person that UHC has all of the information on file and that it is strange that she was calling at 4 in the afternoon on Saturday. I said I was going to hang up and call the main office on Monday and verify the call. She hung up. Never give out any information to anyone who might be a scammer. Life is hard enough without dealing with identity theft 😮

9:39 everyone should be a waiter at least once in their life so they can learn how to not get ripped off. I was a waiter and I’m not going out myself, but let’s just say there are some very concerning things that they can do to completely steal from you and the company they work for. For instance, if you pay with cash, all the waiter has to do is delete some of the items when they go turn in the final ticket and just pocket that cash that you paid with. And that’s just scratching the surface.

@nikosolikos I never said it never happened. Just pointing out it's easy to figure out. I worked at a restaurant where the drawer kept coming up short and it didn't take long to figure out it was one girl in particular who kept swiping money for her drug habit. Cooks do keep inventory of stuff so it's not hard to find out how there's a bunch of $35 steaks unaccounted for and the cash isn't adding up. They will find out who's doing it.

For the last 6-8 months. The judicial system in Kansas has been doing everything by had for the same reason. All permits and licenses are done with hard copies now. Also Accession Hospitals are still doing the same thing. Months and they are still not back to normal.

8:58 coming from Texas barbecue has always been expensive. It’s not a cheap meal, but if they know what they’re doing it’s worth it. Usually the best values if you get a sandwich. But also, yeah, I went to a restaurant one time that served me chicken fried steak on a paper plate with plastic utensils. NEVER WENT BACK!

Barbeque joints were out of control in pricing 20 years ago. This was supposed to be the best deal when dining out. I watched meal prices hit $20 over 20 years ago. I stopped eating that greasy food when it was no longer a good deal. Crappy, fatty food burnt meat and sugar basted to hide it all. No thanks.

I went to visit my sister in north Anaheim after spending the early afternoon removing a headliner and moonroof from a 1998 Lincoln Mark VIII at the Stanton Pick Your Part. She recommended I stop at Harry's Cafe on Katella and Dale. The bill for two single burgers and one order of fries came to $16.61. When I looked at the receipt, the price was $17.27, so they added 66c to the tab because I used my debit card. There is no notice anywhere about the extra charge, just a note stating "there are different prices for cash and card purchases, PAY CASH". No note about the 4% surcharge and the cashiers don't speak English anyway. I will NEVER return there. Even my dogs did not like the leftovers. GREEDY RIPOFF RESTAURANT!!! I should have spent the fuel to go to In N Out Burger 4 miles away.
