I did this to my 2015 F150 5.0 a few months back and I love it. It barks when you want it to and is quiet enough on the highway that the wife can nap. Nice and quiet in the cab too.

If you left the 2 1/2 section in there will be no performance gains just louder. The stock muf is very lo restrictive , it is straight through with two side chambers to reduce the sound. The way to go is to 3 inch all the way from the collector ( 3 inch ) delete resonater and 3 inch muffler. Then you get sound and performance gain. I have done this on both of my f 150s and it works well !

My main objective was not to gain performance. I was after the sound and got just what I wanted. I left the resonator in place, as I didn't want the truck too loud. I didn't want an annoying loud exhaust with a daily driver. But, your input is good information and I'm sure some will find it useful. Thank you for watching and commenting.

Trade it in for a V8, hahaha.. Mah, man.. I'm a Ford person through and through. It's an aquired taste for sound, and it's hard to put v6 exhaust note vs v8 exhaust note. If you like the v6 sound over v8 don't let anyone persuade you otherwise. I'm sure you can find something to make you happy @brandoncaspar5508

The front (y-pipe) side of the flange is 3in. The back (resonator) side is 2.5in. It's better to get a 3in resonator delete pipe and go 3in all the way back from the flange - 3in muffler, 3in tailpipe. Forget that tiny 2.5in pipe.

I just cut the muffler and tailpipe off at the resonator and put a turn-down tip at the end. No ugly exhaust sticking out. Good sound for about 10.00 and lost about 15 pounds of weight!

@@BackyardBMX73 Not too bad at all. It's pretty tame until I romp on it otherwise just a good medium type sound kinda like a turbo muffler. I pointed the turn-about 45 degrees out so it doesn't kick up a lot of dust...all food. Also painted the exhaust with hi-temp black!

Nice! I thought about doing that with mine but, thought it would be too loud!! I bought the Roush cat back system! Your way was differently cheaper! Put it in sport or tow mode and listen to how it downshifts when you slow down!!

Nice, definitely a lot louder. Just need to find a cheap sct tuner and call up Tuning by OZ for a omega tune. Best all around truck tune with flex fuel activated. Put any fuel in a drive just like the factory! ✌🏽🇨🇦

I bought a 2019 f-150 that came with a resonator delete, and a MBRP muffler installed. It's pretty damn loud, maybe too loud, for now I'm enjoying it but but I wonder if this is better?

My suggestion would be a WWP exhaust. I have a video of mine and love it. No resonator and it sounds great. Deeper tone and just a clean sound.

They make stainless steel daul exhaust kits that are very nice. Carbon steel pipe will fail pretty quick and it dont stand up at all to road chemicals. Stainless steel should be mandatory for exhaust pipes

We're able to get the sound that I'm looking for for a hundred dollars!! I was thinking about putting a k&N 57 cold air intake on as well how do you think that'll turn out?

Welcome! Yeah man, the muffler delete is the best $100 I've ever spent on exhaust lol. People say a cold air doesn't really help much, but I did install a K&N filter in the stock air box. Seemed to pick up just a tad better fuel mileage which is a plus in my book.

One reason why the F150 is rated so much lower than the Mustang is the manifolds, the Mustang uses basically shorty headers from the factory. Get some Mustang manifolds, or Ford Racing headers and it'll gain a lot of power and have a mean sound. That'll pair nicely with a tune.

I don't believe I have. But, I've seen people say that it's a bit obnoxious and some didn't like it. If obnoxious is your cup of tea, by all means get rid of that thing lol. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

It would sound similar but maybe a little louder. I would at least have the exhaust piped out from underneath the trunk. You may get some drone in the cabin if you don't.

There's no accounting for taste, I guess. IMO, the high-pitched, untuned blat-blat-blat of muffler deletes will never sound good. Throw on a Bassani street muffler and you have music.
