You weirdos are steadfast on making 4c hair appear complicating, a hassle and unruly. Every negative thing you self hating specimens can associate with 4c hair, you do not hesitate to do so. This doesn’t sound like a standard 4c detangling process at all and maybe if you washed and detangled your hair more often, you wouldn’t think that this is the standard 4c detangling process.
Standing in the shower and getting your hair completely drenched will pull down your hairs and make it easier to deal with. Another protip will be to make bigger twists on each section you detangle to avoid re-tangling. Washing your hair is while they are in the large also reduces tangling.
detangling while the water is running through doesn't work for me, my hair feels much weaker and may come out in chunks, besides her hair doesn't always do that it's because of the style she made
I learnt this lesson early in my natural hair journey. Fortunately, my hair was just growing out from a TWA at the time so the detangling wasn't as bad as you experienced and mine was so stressful so I cant imagine your stress wow!
It's good you had hair to spare because it's so thick & beautiful but I feel you on the detangling process I'm trying to get it down to a science myself because my hair has very small curls that love to grab on each other and twirl around each other especially when it doesn't have enough moisture in it...
The coils were gorgeous!! Just a tip from someone who’s hair mats up for any reason, try using glossers, if all else fails. My hair has been saved by Lusters Pink Glosser many times.
I usually don’t like finger coils but your coils were pretty but yeah doing styles like this makes the hair want to merge together after a few days. We live and we learn. I had did a cute flexi rod set and looked up people’s experiences and they said that wash is going to be hell. I thought to myself I hope this doesn’t happen to me. Wash day came and it was freaking nightmare. I only kept it for a week. My set was so smooth and damn near flawless too. I will never do another flexi rod set in my hair unless it’s straight or I comb my hair out prior to washing. With a wash and go, wash day go by smoothly and I don’t have all that tangling and knotting. But for many a wash and go is a nightmare 💯
Your hair looks so amazing!!I did finger coils too once & only once just because of the detangling afterwards. It was so beautiful & a nightmare all in one. I drenched my hair in african pride detangler to help make detangling easier💕
Loved the coils on you 😍😍😍 I always have to warn people about the dangers of finger coils! They’re beautiful but 🤯🤬🔥 Hell to take out! Thank goodness I figured it out when my hair was short cuz this type 4!
I feel you there. That happened to me the first time i did coils, so i made sure i was moisturing every single day and if they need 're-coiling' to look neater i did that to make sure they dont loc
The finger coils looked AMAZING, I’m kind of a bored natural cause all I do are wash n goes 😂 twist outs, braid outs, and finger coils don’t give me great results so I just gave up lol
Girl, I am jealous! I didn't get the thick Native American hair like my mom had. I got my dad's crappy thin Irish hair that laughs at the sight of curlers
Yeah... That's why I don't do tiny curls or twits out on my 4c. The first and last time I did it, was micro twits. It was gorgeous for a week. ❤️🔥 Then it started to unravel. It took me all night to detangle it, with the help of my mom whom always hurt me when she does my hair. But I had no choice ! 😭😭 And unraveled, and tangle or not, strands were keeping curling on themselves, a real n.i.g.h.t.m.a.r.e !!! In my opinion, you don't need to use that technique to enhance your curls. You don't need it with that type of curls. They are not loose, or big enough. Curly hair is a spectrum. Gonna need to ajust it yo your curls type, and the way your hair is that specific day.
Girl yesss I tried finger coils YEARS ago back when everybody was trying all kinds of natural styles. I thought detangling would be similar to when I detangled a twist out. Why did NOBODYYYY mention that this cute style would lead to the worst detangling experience of my life?! 😭
Sometimes using the excess product in your hair and letting your hair just run under the shower head pulls the strands down….. sometimes I use the excess product in my hair to pre detangling before applying my shampoo.. so much slip right before all the product rinses out
I felt like this Monday on the second half of a faux loc takedown. Sheesh. I haven’t washed my hair yet. That’s a problem for another day. Saturday, to be exact.
I did this last week I did cry but I was in the shower detangling so it don't count 😅 I lost my detangling comb so it was me and a wig brush fighting four our lives. I do have a bath mat so I legit almost lost my life 😭😭 God got me and I too am smiling again. But I'll never do that sht again 😂😂
I have 3c 4a and the only brush that truly helps cut down my detangling and breakage is a denman brush ..I know I’m probably butchering the name but the slip is amazing starting from Bottom to top it’s too fast .my arms no longer burn😂
I got really down during the pandemic, so I let my hair go for months without doing anything to it! Then I combed out the dead hair in May of last year, it took about ten days, and was good for a few months with maintenance then something came over me and I let it go again now I have to another comb out! Hopefully, this time, I'll keep it up!
Nah baby you need to use that African Pride pre shampoo! That's the only reason I got back into my hair care routine..I kept it in an Afro all the time bc I got tired of doing it 😭
They where beautiful tho. I didn't know you had to comb them out. I thought they came out as you washed your hair. Thank you for letting me know. I won't be putting them in my hair.
Detangling for me is usually 🥹 then I worry about clogging my shower drain everywhere I live 😮💨 So glad you succeeded 🎉 Baby hair always on point, too 😁
