Samantha your story sounds so much like mine, growing up & vacationing in Wildwood. You are such a beautiful person inside and out with a beautiful soul I wish you nothing but the best. You have said everything about the life of addiction so clear for those who have their opinions about it. I hope that people watch this and open up their eyes bc as you said don’t judge a book by it’s cover and knowing ppl who once lived wealthy and those who lived the streets, it doesn’t matter, addiction has no label on who becomes addicted. There are no restrictions such as how you speak or your educational development or even your faith on whether you can get well from the illness of addiction. You only need to want and believe someone or something greater than you can help you in dark corners.The other rooms are full of others who know how and want to walk with you to get well together.

The thing peeps forget when they say things like "get out before it's too late" is that in the next 30/40 mins she will be injecting or smoking a substance that could kill her in another 10mins, she is already too late cos she is playing russian roulette with her life or limbs 4-5 times a day. People who grow up with an abusive alcoholic parent or parents, see it as normal because they don't have anything to compare it with. I know. It crushes your spirit. Not that growing up in an alcoholic family is void of any good memories but, when it's all you know, it seems normal at the time no matter how stressful it might be. A lot of times kids get left to fend for themselves due to all the focus being around the addictive parent or abusive parent. It may seem normal at the time. You don't get the right guidance as a kid. It's not the kids' fault. They dealt with life with the tools that they were given. That being said, I feel that she can get out of this someday. I have faith she can do it. I pray for her.

I don't know why but it always rips me up when I see young girls like this. I have no tolerance what so ever for the people selling this crap. None. They are mass murders preying on people that are in bad situations, come from a very bad past or have mental issues. Put them down like the killers they are. Nothing but pure rage inside me when I see the suffering caused.

Where is the money to help the people from failed policies.

I like your favorite color, Samantha…a mix of blue and green. I like a mix of green and yellow. My favorite is sort of a middle-to-dark shade. I don’t think there’s a name for it but I call it bottle green. 💙💚💛 I quit using opiates, and I know you can, too! I hope you get into detox when you want to! Detox is definitely key. MAT helped me. Whatever helps you, I hope you find it!

Samantha, f you ever read this just remember the pain that you felt when your father left and you’ve never seen him since. Now, put yourself in your daughter’s shoes. What if you OD? Your daughters will feel the same pain and wonder why you chose drugs over them. I am in no way trying to shame you. You are a very smart, reflective, intelligent woman who oh I know would see what I am talking about if you really feel those feelings and empathize with the 12 year old Samantha and you littles. Look up the story of Layne Staley and his relationship with his father. His father also disappeared from the family when Layne was 8 - Layne’s father left due to addiction… However when Layne became famous as a lead singer of Alice In Chains in the early 90s around the Seattle area, his father came back “clean” Let’s just say the cycle continued, and now, Lane is no longer with this world. He was too good for drugs, and so are you you’re better than this. Remember that.
