I honestly cannot understand how a team can go from not qualifying for the World Cup in 2018, to winning Euro 2020 and then failing to qualify for another World Cup right after. It's just weird.
Complacency? They don’t have a bad squad but the players never seem to have the same urgency other teams do. Same reason why France crashes out. Plus Italy’s depth isn’t anywhere near what Germany, France, Spain or even England have. Spain and England got very unlucky to lose their matches, especially Spain. If they didn’t have to rely on Morata they’d have put that semi-final to bed easy.
let’s be honest most of the teams in euro 2021 were shit anyway - overhyped declining france - nonexistent croatia - slow recovering germany - poorly managed england
The world cup curse is a myth imo. Spain had a golden generation, Germany had an aging squad, and overall Italy as a whole declined after Inter won the treble in 2010. And Brazil only failed to finish in top 4 in 2010 and 2018 each time losing in the QF to Holland and Belgium respectively. France '98 won Euro '00 but had a horror '02 world cup but made the final in '06.
@@hzmo0 France wins it 1998-2002 come out of the group stage,Brazil didn't come out of the group stage because they already did prior to 2006,italy wins 2006 comes out of the group stage 2010,Spain wins it comes out 2014,Germany win it comes out 2018 that is a curse
@@hzmo0 A France team with prime Makele, Vieira, and Zidane is knocked out in the group stage of 2002 by Senegal and Denmark, which by the way I think we will see a repeat of in 2022 with even the same countries possibly. Brazil dodges the curse but doesn't make it to semi-finals, even though they had prime Kaka, Ronaldinho and Ronaldo Italy 2010 was not as good as 2006 but still they shouldn't have finished bottom of the group with Slovakia, New Zealand and Paraguay. Not to mention their lacklustre performance in 2014, failing to qualify for 2018 and 22 and humiliating defeat from Spain in 2012. Spain 2014 can be forgiven as they were in a pretty tough group but still, they were still heavy favorites before the tournament. Not to mention that they did pretty poor in Euro 2016 Germany 2018 were probably the least likely to fail out of all the aforementioned, but they failed still. They were out of the group stage even with a very strong squad and you see some poor performances by Germany up until the point were Hansi Flick took over. As you can see the key to breaking the world cup curse is switching your manager.
Bringing the daily Mourinho news to the Irish guy As club football will enter its last phase this weekend. It's a good moment to do a quick recap on Mourinho's season at Roma and the many changes he is bringing to the club. First of all. Much like his 2 previous clubs. Mourinho inherited a mess. Roma had a bad season last season. Not winning any trophies which they haven't done since 2008 actually. Not getting top 4. Not even getting top 6. Finishing 30 points behind the champions and 16 points behind top 4. To top it all off they got humiliated by an average man united in the Europa league. Mourinho arrived with the objective of getting roma back to the top within 3 years. One of the first changes Mourinho did was to bring a Premier League DNA to the club. Bringing Rui Patricio from Wolves. Tammy abraham from Chelsea Maitland-niles from Arsenal and giving Smalling and Mickitarian confidence to carry on. As far as Formation. Mourinho's most used system is a 3 5 2 with Tammy abraham and Zaniolo up front. The untouchables of the club are very much in the midfield with the captain Peligrini who is having a great season and mickhitarian who at this point is a roma DNA player. Another interesting factor is that Mourinho heavily promotes the youth. He took Felix from the academy as well as zalewski who is playing almost regularly and who is having a great progression. Of course the biggest Jose success so far is bringing Tammy abraham. 23 goals so far this season and outside of the stats he is bringing a lot to the way the team plays. And lastly results. Like at every club Jose managed. He always had the mourinho effect upon his arrival. Mourinho won the first 7 games of the season and Roma was top of the league for the first few weeks. Then they had a couple of bad months with constant injuries and players as well as Jose himself getting suspended often and losses came against most of the top Italian clubs as well as Roma B team getting humiliated against Bodo Glint in the group phase of the conference league. During that time Mourinho received support from the biggest legend of Italian football Francesco Totti who urged Roma to fully back Mourinho as well as the Roma fans who treat mourinho almost as a Godlike figure Roma now are much better. Currently Unbeaten in over 10 games. The only teams that have beaten roma in the league in 2022 are juventus and Ac Milan. They are joint 5th with atalanta and while 8 points away from top 4 might be a bit too much to get CL football. Roma seems to be much closer to the top spots than last season. Recently Roma qualified for the quater final of the conference league and beat Atalanta as well as football lesson in a 3-0 win against Lazio in the derby. Jose is slowly getting his 2nd season effect prepared
@@S.H.E.A To be honest I write those in the morning during breakfast as I do the research for the jose topic of the day. Then I just save it in my phone ready to be pasted when he posts 😂
My colleague moved from Italy to the U.K. when he was 2, and up until we lost in the final, he was an England fan, but suddenly now he has the Italian flag in his bio after we lost. I’m sure he’ll change it again soon.
@@pn2360 That's more for Clubs tbf most International Fans are Plastic based on Club Definition as most can't go to games as the FA say you have to be a member and go to a game within 2 years. But I guess he could be called Fake/Nationless
What's funny is that when Mcclaren was a consultant in israel, he was in charge in one of the league games because maccabi coach back then jordi cruyff was suspended, and it was an away match against a lower table team from my city asheklon. Maccabi had a 2-0 lead and in the last minutes of the game, Ashkelon scored two goals in 3 minutes and Maccabi also managed to miss a penalty in stoppage time. In that same season ashkelon had relegated and now they've been relegated to the fourth division 😂
im a english fan but i feel really sorry for the italian fans, just imagine missing out on the world cup twice in a row, 8 years. coming from a footballing nation thats won 4 world cups and 2 euros, haven't won a world cup knock out game since 2006. wow man just wow
@@nasreenhussain5565 Immobile by name immobile by nature. May be good in Serie A but wouldn't survive a season in the Premier League, well maybe at Norwich.
@@nasreenhussain5565 He's Alan Smith(the OG big nosed Arsenal one), good enough for league football but not for anything more. I'm Arsenal BTW and when I say league football I don't mean the current Premier League, Knocker or Immobile would not succeed here today.
He said that there has been 250 billion seconds since Luis Suarez bit Georgio Chiellini. That equivalents to 7922 years. Stunning maths from The Irish Guy
Marcello Lippi was renowned as a great coach, as he won practically everything with Juventus in the '90s and 2000s, and went on to win the World Cup in 2006. Then, he was called back to coach the Azzurri for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, and, after that failed expedition, he only found coaching gigs in China. Now, truth be told, he was already 62 in 2010, so his age may have also been a factor (same thing with Capello. His England tenure ended when he was 66)
I don’t get Irish guy predicting Macedonia. They were NEVER going to beat us at the Dragao. 50 thousand Portuguese supporters getting behind the team, with all the abundance of attacking options we have. It was an impossible task for them to do it just was never going to happen ever. It was so easy as well for us. Honestly no joke actually felt it was so easy that we had a bit of compassion for them and didn’t want to go too hard on them. It was nervy at the start but it was a professional display from Portugal, very comfortable and easy win. I felt if we really wanted to humiliate them further it could have been 5-6-7 but we definitely pumped the breaks in that game after we knew the game was in the bag. We definitely went at second gear and if we wanted to we could have been embarrassed them even more. They beat Italy with a freak goal at the end after Italy had 36 shots how can you expect them to go and beat us?
Hi, it's Ronaldo here, I cannot stop crying, not making it to the world cup finals is difficult. I just wanted to say the Irish Guy's predictions are 100% correct, never doubt him.
I'm Australian and I still haven't forgiven Italy for cheating against us so bad in the 2006 round of 16 and knocking us out of our best ever performance at a world cup so I'm right with the Brits enjoying this one :D
People can recover from international management Ranieri from Greece to winning the league with Leicester, Hodgson, went back to the level he was at before the England job with palace
I‘m German and a spurs fan. But I‘m actually always against my national team. But I‘m not for England at every tournament, so luckily I don’t have that pain. Many English Fans alone are a reason why they don’t deserve to win the World Cup.
11:14 “mcclaren got England’s second best points record in euro qualifying” but we played 12 games in qualifying when we usually play 8 and occasionally 10. Of course he got more points, he played 4 more games than usual!
I'm Italian, but hell no. That'd be a dumb decision, just because we're trash doesn't mean we deserve to qualify to the World Cup if we cannot go past the playoffs
Off topic here, but I would love to see the Irish guy do a vid reacting to his round of 16 predictions. I’m a Real Madrid fan and he talked so much shit about Madrid in his predictions video, so it would be nice to see him react to it. Also please make a champions league quarterfinal predictions.
Irish Signiorino, Mancini was too loyal to the players who popped the prosecco last summer. Some of those players were already gassed when qualifications started. He didn't even call up Scamacca - vergonia! At least my home country Canada is going to the World Cup.
Just looked at your channel views, so glad to see you are doing so well! almost getting the same amount as you would on HITC, and alot more than HITC gets now lmao
