Great list, though an alternative squad would be almost as good as this one. I appreciated especially the inclusion of players from other eras, bias towards current times is all too often unbearable

Good overall choice in my opinion. I totally appreciate you included the greatest players of Azzurri's early years, like Meazza and Piola, also mentioning Combi, who was Italy's captain in 1934 World Cup. I only disagree on one thing: Bruno Conti should definitely be in the team. He is the second greatest winger of all time (the greatest one was Brazil's Garrincha, of course). Conti won the FIFA best player award in 1982 World Cup, and Pelé said he had been "the most Brazilian player" in the tournament (and 1982 Brazil was one of the best teams ever seen in history!) Good work anyway!

I love this series but honestly, I think you romanticize past players a little much. The likes of Cannavaro, Del Piero, Inzhaghi etc. are probably at least on par with if not better than many players you used in the video, not to mention far more appealing to modern-day viewers of the series. Keep it up though :)

My Italian Dream Team (1-3-2-3-1): Buffon - Baresi - Maldini, Cannavaro, Nesta - Pirlo, Gattuso - Del Piero, Baggio, Totti - Vieri Bench: GK Peruzzi, Zenga - Bergomi, Panucci, Costacurta, Ferrara, Vierchowod, Tassotti, Zambrotta - Donadoni, Ambrosini, Albertini, Lombardi, Dino Baggio, Di Biagio, Di Livio, Conte, De Rossi - Zola, Signori, Vialli, Ravanelli, Casiraghi, Mancini and Inzaghi (I didnt want to include players that I didnt see them play, like Zoff or Scirea.) Explanation of choices = In my selection, every player selected is based on their prime best peak perfomance. Not average perfomance over the years. Vieri for example had a poor average perfomance, but when he was at his peak, he was a Beast of a Goal Machine. Hard Decisions = Zola and Signori against Del Piero and Totti. All honesty, Zola and Signori are maybe forgotten, but they wear just as amazing as Del Piero and Totti. All 4 of them are actually very close, talent wise. Especially Zola! It breaks my heart to bench him. Vieri or Inzaghi.... Well, like in their lifetime, Inzaghi would come as a substitute for Vieri and be at the right spot every time. It would also depend against which opponent my imaginary Italian dream team faces. Ravanelli had also many similarity's with Vieri. But Vialli, might be the most talented Forward of all my forwards... (Including Vieri) . Mancini and Casiraghi are of course 2nd choices, but too good not to mention. My Tactics. Baresi as a sweeper, like he usually did, liked to storm often forwards or defend almost at midfield, helping Gattuso to control the defensive midfield. Why no left or right backs? Maldini would cover the left side and Cannavaro the right. Anyway with that defense and Buffon at his Peak, nothing could break through this defense. And lets not forget who Gattuso was. Pirlo serving this offense, would have a blast of a lifetime with Del Piero on the left and Totti on the right side of Baggio. With Vieri on top.... This Italy (depending on Baresi, if he joins the defensive line or not) could transform into a 442 (with Baggio behind Vieri in front) or 424 or even 334 (with Baresi in Midfield) Well, I hope you enjoyed this reading. You can’t make a squad without cannavaro, totti and Rossi. Best to choose players according to position. Maldini is a better defender and better going forward than your left back. He also plays naturally at left back so use he there and add cannavaro. Post war players are more skillful and had tougher competition so for me Rossi in the middle needed as a balance with totti behind baggio

Gaetano Scirea was Italy's greatest central defender of all time....a case could be made that he was the best of all time from a pure defensive point of you.....throw in Baresi with him...Buffon as the goalie?
