Sounded like a bird singing at first/ the squeaky hose 😂 so nice your fam is around - am looking forward to this series!! Thank you! It must have been soooo hard to hide all this!!! Adore the pinafore, fabric looks very good 👌and not tired of seeing your modules and if / how they’d work together with these new clothes from the book as you see fit!!
Morning Whitney, this book looks very interesting, so versatile. I would love to see it paired with your WFHM. Thank you and looking forward to the rest of your makes from the book. Val. ❤️🇨🇦🇬🇧
Good morning Whitney and the Mornington looks wonderful on you, both versions. But I think my favorite is the camel colored one, as I love the lining that you put inside. You will always have a piece of your mentor Joyce close to your heart as the fabric came from her. I can't wait to see the rest of the collection and I am going to pre-order the book today. Have sewing and thank you so much for all your wonderful tips and tricks you have taught me as you have made me a better sewer.
Like that you’re showing winterised versions! Love it as a pinafore. Also thank you for showing what it looks like with the tie to the back. Most of the time that looks more flattering on me. 💕
I vote yes for the look book! Can’t wait for the book to arrive! Seeing what you have made makes me even more excited to start making the payer system from the book. Thank you for your wonderful and helpful videos! 😄
What a nice pattern!! I do love the idea of wearing it as a jumper-I know nowadays they are calling them a pinafore. :+) I also do love the tie feature, and it is so nice to have some patterns that are made up in a snap!! Cannot wait to get my book!! Wish it had been released in October!! Thank you again-and have a fabulous day!
I got the email from Kennis about the book but wasn't sure if I needed another sewing book. However I was stoked to see you're doing a video each day to show the patterns off. I've already mentally picked fabric from my stash for the dress - just need to buy the book now although it doesn't release here in the UK until 1st Jan. sad times but that means I can have it as a birthday present instead LOL.
G'day Miss Whitney!😊 I think showing all the modules with these new Sew Beautiful numbers is a great idea. Because it helps people understand sustainability. Like, the more you think through your sewing choices, the more choices you will actually have in the end in your wardrobe- with MUCH LESS clothes sewn! And therefore, much less fabric made and wasted and all the horrifying damage it does to the environment. Fabric making is one of the top 3??( or something bad like that) polluting services in the world. And in countries where there's no regulations.....it's beyond utterly devastating. But anyway... I'd love to get Kennis's book, but my only book will be Sewing Jeans by Johanna Lundstrom. Books are extremely expensive in Australia for everyone, (even the basics start at 30-35 Aus $), but especially expensive if you're on a pension! I have all the denim fabric already from a couple of years ago when it was end of bolt sale, so bought a whole heap of denim, knowing I would eventually learn more and get better at my sewing! I'm gonna watch your jeans videos😄- great timing, but I'm like you, it seems to stick in my mind through tactile book reading and touching. (Think that's also dyslexia.) I love the cover dress of Sew Beautiful, so I love❤️ the light blue one you made! Really suits you! Have a great day.😄
I loved this video. I'd love to see the clothes with your wardrobe module. The dresses look good on you, and are unique. This book on your Amazon store account is only available in paperback and PDF. Do you know where we can find a hard copy.
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! Those are the two available copies of the book. I probably shouldn’t have called it hard copy as it’s not actually hard, I was just trying to differentiate between the digital copy. Sorry for the confusion on that!
My understanding is you only get pdf patterns with the ebook. It's why I probably won't purchase because I like to hold books in my hands.....but I'd rather have the pdf's. Maybe if enough people ask, they will do it.
Beautiful dress. Do instructions and pattern call for a lining? Does official pattern line the bottom as well or was this your choice? Looking forward to this series. 💗
I was so excited about this book as I love Kennis's designs but I'm really disappointed. I'm not sure if it's her decision re the lack of details and shaping - presumably to simplify and pare down the patterns so they have no zips, buttons etc or whether it's the shapelessness of many of the designs that permits the lack of cup sizes but none of them appeal. Feeling a little meh...and sad 😥 😥
I think her aim was to make this beginner friendly (hence no closures) and I think the cup sizes were cost prohibitive for the printed book. However, I have been so pleasantly surprised with all the shaping she was able to get into these patterns without the cup sizes and closures.
Whitney, I am so sorry I purchased the hard copy of this book. All the patterns are printed on top of each other, so consequently it's been too frustrating to even try to trace off a pattern. Live and learn...........
Where can I find video of instructions for this dress. I have the book and fount tracing all patterns very tedious as they are all printed on top of each other. If you were new to sewing the instructions are not really good. Thanks
I do agree that tracing patterns can be very tedious. I actually purchased the ebook of this one so I could print the pdfs. I don't believe there are complete sew along videos for the patterns.
