I remember the Miner's Strike well growing up... it seemed to go on forever!

When I was at primary school a kid got told off for saying he hated Mrs thatcher!

The miner's dispute was most likely not covered in this one because the only part of TVS' region with a large mining community would be Kent, who received the South East programme. Surprised to see TVS still using a mechanical clock by this point!

I like the fact he felt the need to straighten the papers twice at the end, as if they weren't straight enough the first time.

I remember Milk Mate as I used to pour the strawberry flavour over vanilla ice cream when we had it after dinner - our local Co-op sold it, although I remember that it was around 1986-1987-ish. I think that it disappeared from the shops by the late 1980s. I don't remember it being advertised on television (in the Central region at least). I thought that it was a Cadbury's Fudge advert at first when skimmed through it and saw that schoolboy in the advert. Probably the same actor?
