Thank you soooo much!! You have no idea how much you helped me! I fractured my ankle bone and the crutches have just been a nightmare. I saw this on Amazon and the price kind of made me hesitate so I looked on RU-vid for a possible video and found your tutorial. Its was sooo helpful in assisting me with making the decision to purchase it since I will be off my foot for at least 8 weeks and the price is worth the peace of mind. I get it in 2 more days and I'm so excited to be able to have my hands free and be more mobile! I appreciate you taking the time to help me out and give advise and helpful tips!!! Stay blessed and be well! Hugs from Baltimore!

I live on the 2nd floor, no elevator. I had my surgery a month ago, live alone, family lives in another city, friends help me from time to time when needed, but not always available. Taking the stairs has been a struggle for me, I just ordered mine and hopefully this will make my life a lot easier, thanks for a great review.

Thanks for the honest video. I tore the Plantar Fascia on my right foot yesterday and can't walk. Been using crutches but they are annoying and rub my sides. Just ordered this knee crutch based off of your HONEST review. Nothing is going to be perfect but this sounds like the best option. Appreciate it.

I was 9 weeks non weight bearing for a cuboid and talus fracture. The iWalk 2.0 was massively helpful. I don't have the upper body strength to use underarm crutches and my armpits were bruised in no time. As well, having access to both of my hands made all the difference in the world for my independence. I've loaned my iWalk out a few times since I needed it to friends needing it. Everyone loves it and you're right, I got SO many comments and people would be really curious about it.

Thanks so much for the review - and all the tips about fixing the squeaking! Been on mine a week and especially in my quiet office the squeaking is driving me batty! Going to pull it apart tonight and put some tape on. This changed my outlook on the next 3 months of my life as I just had left foot surgery which will be followed by right foot surgery each with a recovery time of 4-6 weeks. My arms and hands wouldn't have made it that long.

I've been using my 3.0 version almost 3 months now. It's been a drag. Fractured my left calcanious in Jan. it's been godseld for sure. Life is alot easier vs crutches which are lets face it. Worthless. Except for striding longer distances. But yea lots of compliments. A few folks snapping pics of it to show to others ect..I'm jazzed tho. The real healing has begun. PT in 2 more weeks . Partial weight bearing now and later I'll work on getting off this thing finally. cheers

Great review. Thank you for getting me to look closer at why it was squeaking. I'm only 115 pounds and after 10 days the squeak started. In this instance, it turned out to be the gray buckle hinge for the strap that goes tightly behind the knee. The plastic joint next to the spring was rubbing itself in one spot. Able to reproduce it by just bending that hinge fully back and forth. For now, a teensy whiff of olive oil from my finger to the spot, stopped it. Open to anyone having better ideas.

Knee walker works well too and if you're younger you can use lofstrand crutches as well. The first few weeks post surgery I would get a transport chair and be very careful! If you lose you're balance you sure as heck will put your back foot done.

Thanks for the review. I just started tearing apart a crutch few hours ago because I'm going to make one of these. I currently have more time than money so it works out. Being a machinist is a big help too. ;-) I have pseudo-gout and for whatever reasons, I've been having constant flare-ups since July, to the point where the longest I've gone without crutches since then is 2 weeks. Keeping a job with that going on is essentially impossible so this is going to be a huge help, I hope. p.s. Anyone who feels like commenting on gout remedies (I get that every time I mention pseudo-gout), gout & pseudo-gout have separate causes. So, while the end result is the same, one has nothing to do with the other. I appreciate the concern but you'd be wasting your time.

I was looking for like a tips and tricks originally. Story I broke my ankle. All google research pointed to a knee scooter so I got a used one for cheap before surgery. After surgery I see a guy coming in for follow up on the knee crutch. I was like "that's guy is totally walking" so I looked up on Amazon and I thought $150 was too expensive and a week later I was saying something to my wife about it and she thought mobility was worth it and got it with free overnight shipping. Today is day 1 on it and it's better than crutches or the scooter. I wish when researching your video or anything at all about it would have came up. I would have definitely preferred to have this from day one rather than from a week and a half after the surgery. nonetheless I'm in the cast for another four more weeks and then who knows how long before I can do any weight bearing so it will come in very useful. Your video has some good tips and tricks on using it better and that's helpful too so thank you. You probably won't actually see this since the video so old compared to now but whatever it was useful so I wanted to say thanks and that I wish this video came up and just looking for good ways to get around after surgery

Just had my own surgery a few weeks ago and I was fairly excited when I saw this product, but then I looked a bit more into it. I'm a big guy, almost 6'7 and I weigh about 340. The Iwalk is only advised for people under 275, so keep that in mind if you are looking to buy. I was really looking forward to a product like this as I don't relish my residual limb growing weaker over the months before I can even consider a prosthesis. Here's to hoping perhaps they create a more reinforced option down the line.

I'm 2 weeks after ankle surgery and currently have a resin leg cast which goes just under my knee, I'm finding my knee doesn't fit snug and my chin is sore from the pressure of the cast against my leg on the leg rest of this crutch?

Thank you so very much! One of the best reviews I've ever seen. I haven't been able to use my knee cruiser because it makes my knee hurt and swell. Does this product cause a lot of knee pressure when you step? Please, please let me know your thoughts or experience with knee pressure. Crutches for 6 weeks now and not healing well and I'm worn out from crutches everyday. Looking at possible foot surgery. My wife and family would certainly appreciate me on this product if my knee can take it, as they've helped me continuously with my hands occupied with crutches. I'm hopeful and looking forward to doing things with my son that I can't right now or in the foreseeable future due to crutches. Thanks so much!
@STARSHADOWWOODWORKS

Unfortunately you will have knee pressure using this but no more than using the scooter, infact if tighten all straps down will distribute the weight between thigh and lower leg. If they have told you can use knee scooter then I would think this 2ould work for you just need to become accustomed to. Good luck on your recovery.

Hi Dave, What a great video! Thanks so much. I fractured my left fibula two weeks ago, simple twisted ankle and fall on the ice while carrying hay to the horses. I am a single mum with one 20 yr old son and two young men in their 20's as tenants here on our farm. I have six horses, a dog and two cats, oh, and eleven chickens. The boys have been great at looking after the outside animals - but inside? Let's just say "Not so much!" Being non weight bearing for at least the next two weeks, I am at screaming point with my crutches! My dog is afraid to be near me because the crutches keep falling when I prop them up! Trying to push things around the kitchen on a chair, from fridge to counter, from sink to cupboard gets so frustrating as it catches on the floorboards... When washing dishes and preparing meals I rest my bad knee said kitchen chair with a cushion on. My arms are aching, my hands are aching and my right leg screams in agony when I stand on it for too long. I looked at a few reviews on the iWalk 2.0 and ordered one yesterday, it should arrive tomorrow. You don't state where you are but I'm assuming you're in the USA and are referring to US $ when you mention the price? The cheapest I could fine was $175 Canadian. Your review is amazing! Thanks so much for your clear instructions. I now feel prepared for my new device! After I'm done with the device I'm going to offer it out to friends who may need it in the future... along with a waterproof cover for showering (after soaking my cast in the shower when the plastic bag leaked, I don't want anyone to have to go through having a soggy foot for a day and a night)! Thank you again!

This is not a well known and in the hospital, they did not offer this option and it cost more than crutches. I think if my hospital offered this, I would have purchased this right away. I still use my crutches to get the the washroom quickly. I also do not see the frail and elderly using this, you need to be somewhat athletic.

Good review, I just ordered one after breaking my angle. Hope it works better than crutches to get around the house, cook meals, clean and get up/down stairs. Surprised that doctors never carry or mention it is it because of the higher cost than crutches?
@STARSHADOWWOODWORKS

Good luck on your recovery, it's lot of better than crutches. Up and down stairs is pretty easy, for me down I had to do backwards only because my leg so long my foot hit stairs lol but I have short stairs. As far as why Dr's don't carry I 5hink because don't know or don't care lol they know crutches and walkers.

Thanks for the review. I pulled it more into my crotch and tightened it. BUT i guess the biggest problem bro is when i take a step it feels that it is not stable--it rocks too much. I think at this point its the foot. If I lean too far forward i could fall over. it like i have to hit the foot right in the middle. I'm afraid to use it. I've been trying it a few times a day. But i almost fall each time. Those steps are tricky. Any thoughts or suggestions? I also seem to get fatigued fast.

I got this as I'm having surgery on my calcaneus so will be non-weight bearing. The instructions that come in the package are excellent so I thought I wouldn't learn much from this review. But you are clearly a natural teacher and I picked up lots of pearls. So thanks very much. First steps were pretty tentative, but within a few minutes I was able to look up and start to stride pretty well. I'm over 60 and the staff at the medical supply store were saying "this is not for a lady like you." a.k.a. you're too old! I think I will prove them wrong. PS my husband popped it on and without even adjusting it or tightening the straps he was walking like he was a Pirate in a past life. He says it's because he telemark skis and it's a very similar weight transfer and motion. He wishes that he had used this for his various leg injuries over the years. Arrrrr!

I don't want to even go near crutches and I was looking at buying a scooter but we have 2 steps to go down and we also live in the woods so lots of rough terrain. They gave you a walker? Like one of those 4 wheel thing you hold on and push along the floor? Dang. Has it already been 8 weeks since you got into the accident? Time sure does fly by sometimes. I'm glad you're almost fully better. I can't imagine how much of an annoyance it's been for you to get used to walking around with these. But you're soon going to not need this so I guess that's something you're looking forward to. Feel better and take it easy for just a little bit more.

HI, My name is Dan, and for over 10 years, I've been working the foam industry. I've had multiple customers that have complained about the foam in the IWALK, saying its either too hard, or not hard enough, or not thick enough, and the IWALK ends up causing more pain than comfort, to a point where they’ve considered even returning the product. I have helped them all find foam solutions. If you need a solution, let me know, and I'd be glad to help. Thank you for your time!
