Looking forward to testing mine out. Purchased at the International Scale Model event at Telford a few years ago. It was packed away and forgotten about. It will be put to good use on my Meng 1/48 tank build.
I got an Iwata Eclipse HP-CS for painting RC model car bodies. It was a personal recommendation for another painter, and I also watched OPN's earlier beginner airbrush videos prior to purchase which helped reinforce my choice.
Convinced me. I went ahead and bought the HP-CS. Then perhaps a CM-C Plus when i get good at this model. a 0.3mm needle is all I am needing for tank modeling.
Love your reviews and tutorials. Question for you, I plan on painting Gundam model kits, so the paint area would be no bigger or smaller than what you showed in this review toward the end. Would you recommend the Iwata Eclipse HP-CS, the HP-C+, or this HP-CH as the best of the three for this kind of painting?
So with the MAC valve you can alter the pressure for various types of paint coverage, but what about the compressor being used? Does the pressure need to be adjusted accordingly or not? I tend to work with 20psi. Just wondering mate as I've never used an airbrush with said MAC valve. Nice review! :)
Simonize41 Yes that is correct. The MAC valve let's you adjust the pressure on the fly by turning the little valve at the front of the brush. I set my compressor to 30psi then I can adjust it down super quick with the mac valve. so I can have it fully open for using heavy priming paint or turn the mac valve to spray finer detail work close up.
If you already have an Infinity and if you actually like it, just buy a 0.4mm nozzle set. 1/48 aircraft can be huge. A lot of airbrush reviews are about "feel". Feel is not scientific, 100% subjective. What feels good for some does not feel as good for others. Some reviwers claim that the H&S is the best airbrush, others Iwata. Most claim to have decades of experience with every brand and model of airbrush but that is like my grandmother claiming to have more driving experience than young F1 car drivers, dont mean she is better than them or she is right when she claims that her trusty Honda is the best car in the universe and if anyone disagrees, they are either lying or they are not driving the Honda right. 😜
Around three I Waters right now and I love them man I wish I hadn't have sold my custom micron I might have to buy another one but they they're the best hair brush in the world as far as I'm concerned I've been there brushing for 22 23 years and I love them I've had them for a long long time I've got a the ones I've got right now probably had for maybe 15 years and they work as good as they did the day I got them the only time I've ever had to do anything to him as if I've been to needle accidentally and I had to replace that and they are the most fine detail brush made I don't care who says what about any other ones I can guarantee you that this will be the most fine detail but they are not starter airbrushes for people that's just learned airbrush because they're too sensitive for someone who doesn't have any experience at all I learned that when I was very young at it and I try to use a fine detail brush and it just was too hard for me until I got the time in and the practice so I could use one I tell you man I wouldn't get anything in the world if I hadn't sold my micron but my friend needed a detailed brush really bad and she had the money to get a brand new one so I sold her mine and so she can keep working cuz she uses her in her work and her but she does and matter fact she's one of my students and that's kind of how I got my first micron was it I got it from a teacher who does everything on the computer now and he showed me his micron and it was the greatest airbrush I ever owned and I'm glad I still have some nice Waters and like I said I'm going to get me another Mike run when I can we're not going to afford it they're rather expensive but well worth the money in the end I'm sorry I read alone for a while but I thank the Lord Jesus Christ for what he's done for me and help me get where I'm at today and he can do the same for anybody I couldn't go without mentioning Christ because I tell you I wouldn't be where I'm at and I've been for him thank you Lord and may you bless you on your endeavor to help people understand airbrushing thank you for your
Wow ... this makes you sound like a sellout. Can't argue much with the points you're making on it, or your reasoning on the warranty(I'm across the pond so it means diddly for me, but it says volumes for the product provided they honor it properly), but you're really pushing that sell....
I really believe in the quality and performance you get from Iwata airbrushes. I can assure you every point I made is the truth and speaking from many years of experience with many different airbrushes.
