@@spoza72you just don’t like mr.morale because he wasn’t sticking to the traditional rules of what constitutes as good hip hop…he stepped out & made an experimental album…i don’t like every song on mr morale but the themes & concepts on that album are deeper than anything cole has ever made…..it’s apples & oranges because this cole project is just focused on rapping well…which is him at his best IMO…his concept albums are weak…FYEO & KOD have good songs on them but overall it falls flat in terms of concept & themes when it comes to the execution..good bars & good flows…nice storytelling those are cole’s strengths while kendrick was trying something different with mr morale something that will divide because it hasn’t been done in mainstream hip hop…the beats are unorthodox….& his lyrcism isn’t focused on good lines (punchlines,similes etc) like traditional hip hop is…he’s doing a mix of storytelling & exploration of themes by doing an exploration of his experiences & how they forged his character, his views on the world , his actions & his impact on the world….pretty deep stuff…you might not like the production…which i don’t like on every track either…& i don’t necessarily like his lyrics on every track in terms of the execution of what he was trying to accomplish with this album but to say cole’s loosies are better…i don’t get it cause mr morale is not a project i would put in my rotation…i listened to it once & i don’t plan on going back to it because it’s not really everyday type of music but that doesn’t mean it’s bad

As far as Cole, I feel like they be picking and choosing when to like and not like his projects because this project is definitely up there with his earlier mixtapes, Forest Hills Drive, KOD & The Off Season. It’s just unfortunate that this project in particular got overshadowed by the diss track which I believe is another reason why Cole decided to delete the song off of the album from streaming platforms, because everybody seemed to be talking about that more than the project itself. Like I said, the album is definitely one of his best. Songs like Pricey, Crocodile Tearz, Ready 24’, Stickz N Stonez, Pi, 3001 & Trae The Truth In Ibiza are definitely highlights from the project and shows Cole in his bag frfr💯.

Cole was rapping at a top tier level on this project and the production was crazy so I don’t understand where the hate is coming from. This is up there with Cole’s earlier mixtapes, 2014 Forest Hills Drive, KOD & The Off Season. I believe had he left the diss track off of the project and just released it separately then this project wouldn’t have gotten overshadowed by that, but since he did put it on there some people were ignorant enough to just listen to the diss track and criticize it and called the rest of the album trash. Honestly, I liked “7 Minute Drill”, I feel like he could’ve came harder than what he did but he still had some bars on there that made me rewind back a few times and the production was crazy, especially the beat switch with the conductor beat. People just hate on Cole just to hate on Cole without any valid reason and it’s pathetic. Dude puts out great music and is a humbled individual and I honestly prefer his music over Kendrick’s. And I’m not dissing Kendrick because I’m a fan of him as well, but I can just relate to Cole’s music much more and I prefer his style of rap more.

Critics/publications view Kendrick as some sort of god, so naturally the whole 7min Drill debacle has their panties in a bunch.

genuine question, do you feel it matches up with what he’s given us over the past 2 so years with the Offseason, both Dreamville tapes and all his features? I ask because i do agree he was still rapping well on this, i actually think it’s a cool little appetizer before the real album. However i agree with them on it just not meeting my own expectations i’ve come to have for Cole. It’s cool but like B pointed out it’s some really amateur lines on here as well, which makes sense why these didn’t make the final cut for The Fall Off

I do feel like it matches with what he's, gave us in previous years especially off season. I didn't go into MDL with any expectations, so maybe that's why it's so dope to me. And I don't agree with.
