A friend of mine have a jabuticaba tree at his back yard that his parents planted some 50 years ago. It's about two story tall and gives grapes by the buckets by the middle of the year

I am from Brazil and jabuticaba needs a lot of water all the time. If you do that you are going to have more fruits.

It is cold and wet here from April to October, so I don't water. In summer I water almost everyday as it doesn't rain much. Thanks for sharing.

I love the shape of your tree. It is very beautiful. I have three small plants in pots. Can't wait until they are big enough to start bearing.

@@RealLifeFruitopia I have a hybrid that supposed to only take about half the time to fruit , 3-4 yrs. We'll see. I don't mind waiting. Trees are worth the time.

I really enjoy freezing our jabuticaba in ziplock bags and eating them frozen with the skin, spitting out most of the seeds. Awesome, wholesome and excellent in our warm Hawaiian climate.

But the point is the pH of the soil. Jaboticabas live in acidic soil in Brazil, 5-6 where those nutrients are more availble. If the plant is with a deficiency probably the pH is too hight.

"Are you guys familiar with star apple" I have never seen an apple hanging up there in the sky with stars. I am currently trying to get dragon fruit cutting to grow cause in my country we're not familiar with any of these fruits but I love gardening and want to grow some of them although never taste any.

Star apple is in my top 10 for favourite fruit. I am growing a young star apple in a pot. It tastes like sweetened milk pudding. YUM!

I'm a savage with my trees. when they don't give me fruit after about 3 years, i spike a rusty nail in the center of the trunk. It stresses her out and hermis,- ive done this with Avocado , mango, trees. I live in south Florida.
