Here's a funny story. I remember my grandparents used to rent VHS tapes whenever I visited and around the holidays Michael Keaton's Jack Frost film was a favorite of mine to get. But one year when we re-rented, an employee at the rental spot had accidentally put the killer Jack Frost tape into the other's case. Let's just say I was horrified that christmas lol

Jack Frost is the gift we don't deserve.

My parents accidentally rented this Jack Frost from Blockbuster along with a couple of other movies for us kids to watch while they went Christmas shopping. This Jack Frost had been placed behind the kinder Jack Frost with Michael Keaton. Whether or not it was on purpose, we don't know. Anyway, our parents left and we chose Jack Frost to watch first and uh, ho boy, were we (pleasantly) surprised. We had a great time. When our parents got home, long after finishing the movie, we told our parents that we were pretty sure they rented the wrong movie. They watched some of it and were so embarrassed and mad. It's one of our favorite Christmas-time memories we bring up every year.

They made a Jack Frost 2 where he is still alive and still a snowman but killing people in the Bahamas 😂 The director wanted to make a third entry where this time Jack was going to grow 70ft tall and terrorize a city during Christmas. The name of the movie was going to be called Jackzilla 🤣

I remember watching this as a kid with my family and us kids got mad at our parents for laughing throughout most of it to the point we chose to hate watch it a second time without them.

I always get this Jack Frost movie with the other Jack Frost movie with Michael Keaton mixed up. I'm sure that *_DEFINITELY_* didn't confuse kids back in the late 90's.

That absurd reveal that the kid used anti freeze in that oatmeal took me out! 😆

I remember flipping through channels before cable and saw the sequel to this film it's absolutely bananas

This was one of my favorites back in high school (along with the sequel which takes place when he goes to a tropical island). I’ll never forget the anti-freeze food. Time to make some pasta and sit down to see your take on this masterpiece!

It's not that you come back as a snowman, it's just that you become some kind of entity that exists as all forms of water, and Jack Frost chose to make himself look like a snowman. For various reasons, his name, he's a psycho killer, why not choose a gimmick? and because it's christmas.

Never in a million years would I be glad to have people finally talk about this movie and bring it back to the public consciousness.. mostly cause after the internet 2010's era where they shove the lame Jack Frost from Rise of the Guardians into our throats with the stupid Elsa crossover ship that was everywhere, the Snowman killer movie isn't so bad.

The guitar in this movie is still pretty damn tasty. Especially when the end credits start. It's literally just an electric guitar going wild. Most of the music during the entire climax is.

My family are a bunch of Horror geeks so I got into these type of movies at a Young Age and this was one of my favorites to watch. It was soo stupid & silly but had me laughing hysterically & I loved sneaking it and showing it to friends. I remember even being that kid who would switch out the Jack Keaton one with this one & its Sequel. Good times. The idea of a killer snowman has always been one of my favorite concepts so I’ve always wanted like a Mainstream Remake of this. Also Still so Quotable xDD

I was a kid when this came out. All I remember is him killing a girl in the bathtub. He froze around her and kept banging her against the tile. Yo, I watched this movie for the first time when I had the flu in 2011. Was home with my parents during the summer from college, and we had the chiller channel. I loved the shit out of it. There's some weird charm that bad movies have; ESPECIALLY the horror ones. This was a weird twist of cheap horror fun and I ate it up. I'd laugh, then have major coughing fits and didn't care. Loved it.

Renting this from blockbuster as a kid for group hangout nights was something special. For sure so bad it’s good.

Definitely remember this one! Me and my girlfriend at the time used to go to Blockbuster all the time and rent movies like this for fun. It's crazy that this beat the Michael Keaton movie by a year since you'd think the horror movie was some kind of ripoff. Just one of those weird coincidences where two films happened to do the same concept. Y'all need to check out another one called Monsturd from 2003 if you haven't. In that one an escaped criminal falls into radioactive sewerage and literally becomes a homicidal 💩 monster. He is destroyed at the end by a swarm of flies

Although I feel bad for any children that were shown this by accident, I do find it amusing that this low budget horror movie which could have possibly faded into obscurity like most of the straight to video horror trash from the 90's ended up garnering infamy to this very day because of the common occurrence of video store employees mixing this up with a family movie by the same name that was released around the time making it not only a cult classic but also something of a national legend😆

As for playing a rape scene for laughs, I don't believe that there's anything that can't be funny. The problem is that the more severe the subject, the more work needs to be done to make it funny, and they didn't do the work. It's easier when the scenario is ridiculous to begin with, so it's a real indication of how little they tried that it was so dull.

Rented this movie as a kid. Even as a kid I knew this movie was garbage.The employees had to make sure parents weren't renting the wrong Jack Frost. 🤣 Best thing about this movie was the holographic VHS cover that showed the nice Jack and the evil Jack at different angles.

Been playing High on Life and in the game, they have a living room tv where they play random obscure and bad movies like Tammy and Trex, Vampire Hookers, Demon Wind, and this really weird movie you guys should talk about called Blood Harvest. The main girl has a weird clown brother and a town that acts so casual to the most suspicious shit.
