It’s due to the USA having treaties on return of prisoners to countries all over the world. This slimy prosecution team willingly lied to the govt of Rome that he would not seek the death penalty & would charge for 2nd degree murder. When she got back to the USA after more than 2 years being held in Italy, he then charged her with 1st degree murder, violating the treaty with Rome & putting the USA in danger of never having extradition proceedings from that country ever again.

It's referred to as "Jack in the box" because her husband Roberto Caraballo’s burned remains were found in 2002 inside a metal footlocker in Ottawa County, but investigators could not give a positive identification until 2015.

Her husband’s nickname was “Jack”. After he was killed, the defendant and her children put his charred remains into a metal box and left him in a blueberry patch.

Yep. She was on the run living in Pakistan then tried to moved to Italy in 2020 when she was finally caught. It also took them until 2015 to identify her husband’s charred remains.

The country would not dare return a prisoner to a country that has the death penalty. He tried to renig on the charges & then got caught lying. She was arrested in Italy & Italy would not return her to the USA. This SA needs to have his law license removed for lying to the USA & then to Italy Rome to get her returned.

Yes, he needs to now be reprimanded as if the Judge allowed him to file 1st degree. It could take the hundred years of treaties and throw them right in the trash.

Imagine if she just stood up in the middle of the court while everyone was arguing and just admitted her guilt to speed things up and make everything easier. They would be like: That's nice and all, but we have to figure this out first before we can even charge you properly, and we don't even know if this is the right court to try you in.

A good faith agreement should be honored. But, I would love to see the actual text and wording of the extradition agreement and the State Department's concessions to Italy.

My question is would Italy agree to extradition if the charge was 1st degree murder charge? If the answer is yes then why did they not ask for it then? Also the daughter was convicted of 2nd degree and her boyfriend convicted of 1st degree so how were those charges made and on what evidence for the charges to be different?

That’s what I was wondering about her daughter and her boyfriend. If this woman was the one who actually killed and they had nothing to do with that part of it and just with hiding the body wouldn’t the charges be tampering with evidence, hiding a corpse, disposal of a body, hiding a murder, lying to law enforcement which I’m sure they did at some point, etc. and not actual 1st & 2nd degree murder.

Just stumbled into this video, and I'm glad I did! I think I'm going to like it here!! I have suffered childhood, and repeated, trauma, and am just getting around to finding a therapist at 56.🙄 I absolutely LOVE psychological thrillers, but horror is a no. Violence is only implied, and not seen! 😮

Body found in 2015 in a blueberry path in woods in a footlocker burned Ottawa County Sheriff's Office dubbed him "Jack in the box" when investigators couldn't ID the body and had exhausted all leads in 2015

How old was the convicted daughter at the time of the crime and didn’t her mother say to the guy that helped they were abused by the child’s father ? Was the daughter conned by her mother ? Was the daughter scared of not joining in this murder ? No info as just seen this today

Her late husband of whom she's charged with killing went by the nickname of "Jack", and his dismembered, charred remains were discovered in 2002, hidden inside of a metal box, hence the "Jack in the box" moniker, and eft buried on a daisy patch in their rear garden that took until 2015 for the charred remains to finally be identified. Hope that helps lol.

Prosecutor needs to be held accountable for lying to Italy Rome & have his law license suspended. Lying to the govt of another country to have any prisoner returned makes the country look like it’s not trustworthy & other countries will stop returning prisoners to the USA due to scum attys like this man.

No. Second degree murder carries a sentence of up to life; it is just not a mandatory life sentence.
