Glad the man is still with us. At 81, my father-in-law would say, "You're just a kid." Jack would take it with grace.

I've never stepped foot on a golf course. But, I love the history of the game. I love to hear the great stories, how classy the men were, how unclassy some were, and they played with genuine love for the game. Since Jack Nicklaus I don't read about players like that today.

The difference between Jack and Tiger is that Jack, between family and businesses, always had something to clear his mind. There wasn’t anything that was going to crush him. Tiger was singularly focused and it all came tumbling down

the thing most people don't realise with jack's era was not that he was exceptionally good but his competition was very lackluster not to mention the lack of minority competition that was far and few between for reasons already documented.

No, that is just not true. The minority 's were not there, it is true, but 'lackluster' competition? There was plenty of good golfers then, as there were during Tiger's 82 plus victory years. you don't know your golf history...
