If by a miracle of fate you read this Jack I wanted to thank you for making spirit's tangible. Today April 20, is, was, would have been my Mother's birthday but I lost her on the 4th of July. She..Stephanie loved your music and because of her I sang Apple Blossom to my daughter as a lullaby, in time that has flashed by 14yrs ago. I'm listening to your voice while reading her letters she sent to her Mother, the truth behind infamous acts, sent after pulling just paid tuition, sent on the road states away, and headed west. Going with a man who begged her to marry in a corvette with her cat. She wrote I feel there are many things that I have never done and people I never met and I decided not to pass up this opportunity because I might not get another chance. The corvette was traded in New Orleans for a Cadillac hearse with better leg room. Only later to be stuck on the edge of Montana for weeks waiting for parts from Detroit. I will bake a cake and listen to your music knowing sometimes a you get both a Mother and a friend. I will listen loud and seek out memories of smiles. I will play your music while I look for the opportunity to escape this state she once fled. To take my daughter out west to where I was born. First of all, so called "Jack White" is not his real name. There is nothing wrong with his actual birth name, John Anthony Gillis. He obviously "sold out" his birth name because of the shallowness of the entertainment industry?! Most likely the change was made as the result of a greedy Business Manager or Studio, with perceived notions of greater recognition accompanied with monetary gains? Secondly and in reality, it's also shows blatant disrespect for one's parents & their family heritage, just to possibly obtain (not necessarily earn) a greater buck?!
