Thanks for sharing this information. I know the video is 4 years old, but I just found out that I have this setup. I knew I had the jackery... but found the rockpals behind the driver seat! New to me van. Thanks again.
I have both the Jackery and solar panel that you have. I just got it so I'm going to test it this weekend. It raining here. The Jackery panel that goes with the solar power station was way too expensive so I'm glad this panel was a good option. Very informative video.
danncork1967 I thought the Jackery solar panel was to expensive also. This combo as been working great for me. Let me know how it works for you. Thanks for watching
Finally had a partially sunny day to test the solar panel. I was very impressed. I got 45watts intake. Being on the east coast I was expecting only about 25watts.
Not exactly true. I'm pulling in 71w from the Rockpal SP02 100w panel. It started off pretty low at 8 in the morning. It increases as the sun was rising higher up. For awhile it was stuck at 59w. I unplugged it and then replugged it in and it shot up to 71w. Now it's rolling along at 70w to my new 500w Jackery with the MPPT controller
Hey Mike, thanks for the video! I was curious if you noticed any difference in power generation when using the original cables and 8mm adapter 9ver the third party one you had or if you had any other devices you've tested with.
Why didn't you demonstrate the A/C? Does it support pass through charging to the A/C port? Do I have to shut off my 110 volt fridge while solar panels charge the Jackery?
You can charge the jackery with a solar panel and run a fridge with the A/C port at the same time. Just note that you can only get a max of a 100w to the jackery so it’ll take a long time to charge depending on how many watts the fridge pulls. Thanks for watching
@@huntingeverythingwithmikem3458 Excellent. I guess it would seem obvious, but it's good to have it confirmed before buying. I'm still trying to get a handle on this business of pass through charging. I bought a Zoombros 330 which appears to be a rebranded Rockpals 330 which at least one other distributor is also selling under their own label. Wow, this turned out to be a really powerful and fast charging unit that got punished in the market because it didn't "support pass through charging". The manufacturer's 4 page instluction manual only said you would not have A/C available while recharging. Most smaller RV's, conversions and campers use 12 volt power. So, I plugged in my 14 year old Black & Decker 12 volt fridge/freezer, switched her on and everything worked great. The manufacturer's label said it drew 60 watts, but in reality it only drew 42-43 watts according to the battery's outgoing power display! The 330 easily outpaced the fridge and after 12 hours you could drive a nail with the stick of butter I used as a test! All the while charging the battery too. Not pass through? Then I connected the fridge to the newer 300's D/C. Even with the charger plugged in it couldn't keep up with the fridge and red lights went on and the B&D shut down giving a low battery warning after about two and a half hours! Yet the 300 supports pass through charging! The display doesn't show the power draw in watts like the 330w did so I'll have to meter it. (Video coming soon) In the end I'm keeping them both. I got such a good deal on each I now have 630 watts for half of what it would've cost for a 500!
Jeff Karrow Good deal. You might want to watch a guy on RU-vid named hobotech he has a lot of good video on the jackery and more. He was the guy I watched before I bought mine.
