Jackson Browne THE LONG WAY AROUND (11/5/19). Incredible song, as well as his insight and humor!

That's just about when I starled loving him. Was hitchiking across the states and I ended up in San Diego, on the beach, some kids were playing his music and they ended putting me up for the night. That's when I first heard of Jackson Browne and I loved him ever since that time in the 70's.

Love the look of admiration on Steve Earle's face. At least that's what I imagine he's thinking.

squeakeththewheel heavyeditorial.files.wordpress.com/2019/11/gettyimages-489231134.jpg?quality=65&strip=all&w=1024&h=716 Earle was scheduled to perform with his band in Washington D.C. on November 5, the day after Looney’s tragic death. In a 2014 interview, Earle said that he would stop playing if he ever lost Looney as a bass player. Earle went on to say that he felt as though Looney was the glue that held his band together.

squeakeththewheel I think it was a look of admiration. I was amazed Steve Earle was able to perform for the benefit. He had just lost his best friend and bass player the night before.

Yep. This has been discussed in the thread. I was given my last warning to stop filming. I slid the camera in my sleeve and was shooting blind. It was a fantastic night! My last concert before Covid.

@@blythespirit4077 Was this New York? I went to the Lantern Tour in DC, everyone on that stage was fantastic. First time I had seen Emmy Lou live, so I was as excited about that as seeing Jackson again. The only thing that impresses me more than his music is the scope of his charitable and activist work. He was on best behavior in DC, Steve Earle was the feisty one!
@blythespirit4077

Cindy Schneider I was also in DC. Unfortunately, I had a great seat, but no camera’s allowed, so I filmed under my coat. I’ll send you the video of EmmyLou. Steve Earle seemed preoccupied. I later learned that Steve’s close friend, and bass player, Kelley Looney, had sadly died the day before.

Michael McGill I really wish they had allowed video taping. If my camera was within view, I would be asked to leave. I was told by an usher that if I could film without my camera (phone) being visible it would be ok. So I had my camera inside the sleeve of my jacket and I was basically filming blind. At least the acoustics turned out better than I thought they would. It was a lovely concert.

I agree, Darlene. It had been discussed earlier in the thread. I was told that if my phone was seen one more time, I would have to leave the concert. So I pulled the camera up the sleeve of my jacket and filmed it blind.
