Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department responds to a 2 story house fire that started in the garage.

JFRD responds to a twp-story house fire that started in the garage. There are reports of people inside, more specifically children inside. There is not a lot of flame footage to this video, but plenty of audio as crews made an agressive attach, along with a quick search of this residence...no one was found inside and no one was injured.
Look and listen to this fire as it unfolds and how crews work around the fire ground.

exactly people don't seem to understand that the cross lay and supply hoses aren't gonna fold themself up and it must be done a certain way so you can grab it and go without it getting all twisted and bunched up and decon and cleaning is a major role you want all your equipment always at the ready to perform as intended and if you don't clean it and decon it then what good is it

This department is unparalleled, command, water, process, training with this team should be used in training videos across the country. One of the very few videos on RU-vid where a structure is actually saved and not fully involved.

We save a bunch...sometimes it is hard to get there fast enough and the video isn't as exciting to watch sadly.

Most people don't understand the amount of clean-up that comes after the fire. I always said, a house fire was 30 minutes of excitement and 4 hours of misery.

Only issue I see here is some guys not wearing smoke hoods. If they get a piece of falling debris on their neck or side of their head, they’re going to be severely burned. I know in places like Florida where it’s hot enough to boil an egg on concrete the last thing you wanna have is a smoke hood, but even though it’s a little uncomfortable, it may save a life. Take a look at what happened in LA Boyd street fire. If they’d not been wearing all proper ppe, the outcome could’ve been very different. Other than that, excellent job!

Great job, but any crew member working the fire scene hose line or not should be in turn out for their own safety.

I lived in Jacksonville for two years and grew up in South Georgia. You put on full gear in the Summer and work. If you don’t pass out or die from heat exhaustion, we will talk again!!

i love how well you guys all work as a team (many hands make light work) sadly my old dept some guys had the attitude of make the probie or rookie do all the cleaning work even though we were no where near as busy as you guys are (small town rural dept) main call volume was medical in summer when alot of the seasonal people were up from out of state. Winter was mostly tree on wires burning calls in bad snow storms and i hated those calls because there is not much we can do but baby sit it till either it trips the breaker at transformer or power company shows up and deals with it

@@thejfrd2490but their in the front of the garage in the hot zone in toxic smoke without SCBA'S on. If you're going to have a practice of cleaning gear on a fire scene you should have a practice of making sure people are using proper PPE if they're going to be in the hot zone.

@@thejfrd2490 lol JFRD, these guys are all arm chair QBs from very small most likely volunteer depts. I love these videos and I work at busiest dept in the state of GA. best to probably mute comments and keep doing your thing!

@@Fvtfvt I understand...I love their perspective, I am not sure what in that video shows any fire ground tactics that could be considered "sloppy"...crews attacked the garage from inside the house and stopped it from running the attic destroying the whole house, great job in my opinion, what was sloppy??

@@thejfrd2490 Ok I will. You shouldn't take it personally. The video is the proof. 2:34 of the video you have 3 ffs at the front door. 1 ff is all geared up and appears to be pulling the ceiling over the front door. There is 2 other ffs there with him, no turnout coats, no SCBA and one isnt wearing his helmet. That is sloppy.
