JFRD responded to a late night/early morning house fire that started in the garage as a result of a golf cart charging. The homeowner attempted to extinguish the fire themselves to no avail...there were also two children inside that reached safety. The homeowner suffered minor injuries and refused transport to the hospital.
The fire was too far advanced upon arrival (first engine was on scene within 4 minutes) to mount an offensive attack. Ladder pipe, deck gun, and exterior hose lines were deployed to knock this fire down. The house to the Bravo side was damaged due to proximity to extreme heat, but crews were able to prevent its ignition as well.
No crews were injured fighting this fire, and an under control time of under 40 minutes was accomplished.
Solid work by command, crews, and dispatch.
