We had a look at one a couple of weeks ago by chance when we were car shopping (South Africa). Looks great (didn't test drive) but do wonder how well they will sell at their price points (and another unknown sub-brand which people probably won't research the origins). I suspect many people might pass on the luxury and slot into a mid spec Japanese competitor. Chery has done phenomenally here so they might surprise again if they market correctly.

I think as always it's a price vs quality question and only time will tell how they'll hold up in long term. Plus of course, everyone is anxiously anticipating the local AU price reveal as it could make it or break it for them.

In case you didn’t know, they actually make the Land Rover Evoque for Land Rover for the Chinese market. So I am not surprised at all if some design element is borrowed.

This “JAECOO J7” looks cool 😎 By the way, I have never seen you review any car from the Chinese brands “Geely” and “Hongqi”, I assume they are not exported to Australia.. If true, I think you are missing some cool cars like “Geely Preface” and “Hongqi HS5”..

You haven't because we don't have them here, and while I translate reviews from overseas - I generally stick to the brands that are either bringing stuff to AU (confirmed) or have high likelihood to emerge (such as Jetour)

I usually go for those that are likely to come to Australia, to stick with the theme of the channel. But I'll keep an eye out and see if it's interesting for any particular reason

Like Subaru? or Hyundai? or Mitsubishi? or Daewoo?. My point....once a name is established, you get used to it........Toshiba,Samsung,Ssangyong,Yamaha (fading out while continuing to name names)
