Haven't played in a couple years now and when I see stuff like this, it reminds me why I quit in the first place. It makes me sad, because RS will always have a special place in my heart. I'm glad that the community has Protoxx. You are currently the best part of this game.

As someone who still has so much content to explore and is currently enjoying the game quite a lot, it's so sad to see the way the game is being treated by Jagex right now.

After 12 years of playing RS3, I recently maxed my account. I've loved the game for a long time, but as of late, I've noticed some real shady shit coming from what is supposed to be a reputable company. From allowing scam advertisers through the "Earn Keys" feature, to clear money grab "promotions" on the Treasure Hunter, it seems like Jagex is doing what the kids call "gettin' a bag". They no longer care about the community they've spent years building. So with that being said, I'm not going to spend an single penny more with this company. I'll be selling my account & ridding it from my life for good. Nobody actually gives a fuck lmfao, just thought I'd slot my 2 cents in the hate machine. GL & GG Scamex.

In Discord voice last week where Mod Doom interviewed designers, we had a chance to ask him questions and I respect that he answered all of them. What annoyed me though is when he said he wants more community engagement, more videos and so on but "Oh I am just the small guy at the bottom, I need to convince those at the top of these things we need more of!" The CM team should be the most engaged knowing what the community wants and needs and the people at the top should be listening to them without even quesitoning it!

Back in 2020 (around November) it was possible to get between 200m and 2B from a promotion called Dwarven Discovery. The promotion had a 2x prize multiplier that went all the way up to 10x and you could both pick which modifier you could select as well as see what prizes you would get.

I am currently developing (with friends) a pirate themed survival RPG with an in depth skill system akin to the runescape system a lot of us know and love, with meaningful quests that aren’t just “kill this” and “fetch this”. We are currently near the end of stages of our engine, assets are getting done every week, the “main campaign” is almost finished, many quests are already fleshed out with most characters fully written up. At the moment, the skills that are confirmed to make it into the game on launch in 2027: Mining, blacksmithing, sailing, fishing, cooking, crafting (all non smithed items fall under crafting), worship (prayer ;) ), vitality, strength, archery, alchemy (converting mats/items into other mats/items) and physique (defense). Not sure if we should include magic, as it’s a pirate themed survival rpg. Imagine Conan or Ark but with a quest menu, meaningful quests, skill trees with relevant unlocks, quest specific unlocks, mastery and true mastery titles that come with skill specific buffs that are completely unique to the titles at level 100 (mastery) and level 200 (true mastery). We also have multiple ways to train most skills, having active and afk methods. More input = more xp, less input = less xp. Sailing and crafting allow you to create your own custom ships with a varying sized crew based on ship size. Think of the ports in rs3, but you get to be the captain. Fuck jagex, they ruined something that could’ve been so much more amazing than it was. RiP RS3, hello *untitled* 2027 pirate themed survival rpg.

i literally only log in daily for my dailies and phoenix hunt, i have no other goals in the game right now so im logging in, doing what i need to do and log out to log back into osrs right now, which is amazing. it just blows my mind that both games are made by the same studio

At this point i really dont think its jagex that decide whats to be added to the game or not. I think that it is short term shareholders or whatever its called that are in the jagex leadership for the short run where quick money is the key is what we are seeing, they have no responsibility long term so this is what we get. I wish the devs would get full control of the game and make the dontent that the game so desperately needs.

I stopped playing this game like 12 years ago (maybe I log in once a year), but I still hope that the game lives on to be as great as it can be, and get curious about how it’s going, so I appreciate the vids.

I've literally had the longest playing streak ever since necromancy up until like 2 weeks ago, In the last 2 weeks i have cancelled my premier renewal and not even logged in for daily streak, which i never wanted to neglect.

I stopped playing about a year and a half ago or two. It was a good decision. I still follow you though haha

I’ll be a 20 year veteran of the game in June, and I haven’t even bothered getting my comp cape back after they added the little owl quest and the wildy wyrm flash event. Maybe an hour of time but cba anymore. Been taking a break with other games so I have some content to come back to, which at this point might not be until next year.

This is perhaps my favourite video that you have made so far. So often content creators do not call Jagex out on their bullcrap, because why would they bite the hand that feeds them..... but it needs to be said. The funniest part, is this video reminded me to use my 3 daily keys before reset happens, and I ended up getting a diamond chest from it..... do i have the 25 keys needed to open it? No. Will I buy keys to get it? No. 3 days left, and I can get 18 keys, and I would have to do 4 more quests in order to get the chest.... I doubt it is going to happen. And there is no way Im going to buy any keys... Nor will I earn any from the predatory scam they offer....

I was playing rs3 everyday for several hours, since I returned 3 years ago. I haven’t logged into rs3 for over a month as i ended up giving osrs a go and loving it.

Honestly for me it’s a few questions 1 how many devs compared to old school (if it’s more than x2/3 more then wtf are they doing) 2 what big project are happening (new skillls, 120s, new bosses) 3 are you working on anything so many promises yet we are still waiting e.g. my favourite is corp which was promised 6 years ago 4 as much as I hate them quests wtf Jagex you have x3 the staff yet 10 years ago it was 10/20 quests per year now it’s 2-3 5 new game modes (seasonal leagues, darkscape, new start worlds ((but longer)), new things) Final point people will play this game for completion but as a ra3 player for 20 years am seriously debating going osrs (I’ve created an osrs Ironman for this reason)

Honestly took a long break from rs3 to play final fantasy 14 online, just the love the devs have for the game at square vs jagex is crazy.... I was going to hop back on to rs3 to recomp since im wating for the new Dawntrail expansion on FF14 in 2 months but the mtx is no joke, bonds over 100m is crazy too. Very frustrating thinking if i should renew my membership or let it finally expire at the end of this month after many many years.

Jagex stopped caring when from the trim comp cape they removed the castle wars requirement which took over 1000 hours to complete, and all they gave in return was a nickname title.

I really have been trying to stay motivated to play RS3, but it's tough. I started playing RSC again, and i'm actully enjoying Runescape again.

Necro was a great update for new players to experience more difficult content, but all updates just seemed to stop after Vorkath, I can't see the game lasting much longer at this rate

The TH part in the video: i suppose we complained a lot about it being too expensive for that low rate chance of (purple) drop, so instead of making the chance higher, they increased the drop value instead /facepalm.

Been really thinking about selling my band on RS3 and swap it over to OSRS for a while now and with every ''update'' it makes me wanna do it more and more. Are there any people that took that decision and swapped have some tips or something for me?

Look on the bright side guys. I mean right now there isn't one, but if it eventually appears we should probably look on it.

Back in February, I did something that I never thought i would do. I downloaded FF14 just to give another mmo a try. It's been absolutely eye opening so far. It actually feels good to be a new player there. There's a clear path that has to be taken as opposed to Rs3's double edged sword of being able to take literally any path you want and not know which one you actually need to take. The community is very welcoming to new players as well. People don't care if you screw up, cause a wipe, or just aren't "good" in general. They're there to pick you up and help you along. The toxicity is pretty much only present at the very very end game if at all. Every new expansion sees insane amounts of new content as well. Around 150 new quests that all have cutscenes with actual animation and voice acting. 7 or 8 new dungeons (think the elite dungeons). 3 new alliance raids (24 man raids that are basically large scale dungeons). 5 or 6 new trials that are essentialy 8 man fights equivalent to a lot of bosses we have on runescape. Additionally, theres a few new savage and ultimate raids that are the pinnacle of combat for anyone that wants to play more hardcore. The story, music, and visuals are absolutely stunning. Every ability makes you feel powerful because of how it looks. I keep most sounds off in Rs3 because they just aren't great most of the time but FF14's sounds are all amazing. If you've ever seen a powerful show like Attack on Titan or Game of thrones, that's what FF14's story is. I could go on and on about my experience so far. I used to be someone who would never consider the idea of trying another mmo out. I'm very happy that I did give this one a chance though. I'll still be on standby if things change in Rs3, but I have something to take up my time until then

I really don't understand Necromancy in the game, so was very happy when the embargo for lamps and stars was lifted. :)

Hey man, It's been a real pleasure following along on your rs3 journey/update vids. I think you know as well as we do that this is the end of the road in rs3. The game will die in a slow drawn out way even worse than what's gone on for the last 10 years. Every new owner pushed the limit just a little bit more than the last, and there's clearly not enough backbone to withstand the MTX push. Runescape aside I want to see you succeed as a person; so I honestly would love to see you transition into whatever you find most interesting. Just because the game dies doesn't mean the channel has to. Maybe OSRS for this channel could work if you enjoy that, or another game, or just say fuck it and start uploading your passion outside of gaming. I hope everything works out with school and you find a job you enjoy!! I'll watch either way because I think someone as talented as you are at commentating and editing will find their niche. I want to see what you create!

The fact I think they were planning on hero pass, I mean mtx pass to be some great update. That they are acambling to find something that I an update as this year would be seasons of mtx pass

Plenty of 1B drops come into existence from PVM and this TH promo is a drop in the ocean. And it's a hell of a lot cheaper for someone to get 1B from bonds since you need at least two diamond chests (the first guarantees the cape).

Some games are best to leave behind to preserve the memories of when it was still good, Runescape is one of such games

i would be interested in seeing a data analysis accross the years of different kinds of updates that happend each week. i fear once such a sheet is available we would all get sad about the current reality. mostly because it will proof how little content we recieve now.

I feel you Protoxx, it's weird, because they have such beautiful little content drops (like the Benchsitting skill) that are charming and seem to show the devs really care, then you get stuff like this. I guess it's just the fingerprints of different types of people at Jagex, the people who care about the game and the people who care about the money.

left last year just after doing max cape. more i could do but it was my goal when i started in a new account in 2015 after being hacked and banned. enjoyed necromancy getting to 99 but couldnt deal with grind to go for 120 in all. did one(fishing afk at work) over a couple months but no willing to do it again.

I'm glad you covered this topic. What annoys me most is Jagex have a roadmap/future plans for treasure hunter promotions, but nothing for the main game. I didn't realise RS3 had essentially become a gambling site.

I logged in and instantly out when dailies were yeeted during heropass. Funny enough on saturday i tried to buy memb to kind of checkout the new combat changes but the website wouldnt work and take my money.

Does anything think it's at all feasible for a large part of the player base to just cancel subscriptions/stop playing altogether for a period of time to show Jagex that we're fed up with the antics?

I felt sad when i migrated back to osrs during the area expansion but now im feeling a little smug. There has been nothing since i have left to motivate me to even log in to check it out. I hope the rs3 team ups their gane but until then I cant see anything that'll motivate me to come back.

THe game is fully over @ 4:04 that "man" was the same "man" i gave my ex before i had to let her down slowly because i caught her, but that besides the point. what i was trying to explain is that it sounds like a brake up you hear the sigh the sadness and upsetness from that "man". I know the pain brother this game I love but it's going to die at this rate.

i been playing a different game for the last month and been enjoying it been thinking about checking our rs again recently but i never end up clicking the program. Could very well not log in the rest of the year if no new updates occur.

I'm going to be honest , I'm happy they are getting alot of slack . I said this would happen but people had this crazy thing called "hope"

I have a 1.2B xp maxed ironman, a 1.5B xp maxed main, as well as a few other smaller accs, and I haven't logged into the game (even tho I have membs) in probably 2 months... I watch youtube vids of RS to keep up, but I just don't see any reason to even play anymore, jagex hasn't been doing things to keep us here for a while and IDK why anyone even plays full time anymore...

Just got back at the game after about 3~6 months, they reworked combat and some other stuff, nice... but the bonds are up almost 50% on GE from when I stopped :o I would hate not having a way to get gold because of low skills... Initial thought for that 1 billion coins prize: "Lots of membership days without worry if I get lucky". I could pay my premium playing a little and "getting lucky" with membership before, now I don't feel it's worth it, I have "only" 90s in combat after all. And luckly I saved a bond from the past, I wonder how much time I would put on the drain to get a bond f2p. Most activities have bots and are low profit or way to high intensity for "ok-ish" profit at f2p (some still have bots anyway). With 1 day (4 hours) of membership you should be able to get the same result as 30 days (2 to 4 hours everyday) of f2p moneymaking... There is some exceptions, and I would love to know some good ones, because picking logs from tree 1 by 1 is terrible, leather uses a lot of clicks and is full of bots too... I play because there's nothing really "better" to just "skill a little and watch the number go up without thinking" after a long day of work. But also, I still have lots of quests to do, and some of them are really nice. I don't have any left on f2p and I hate paying monthly for a game I don't even have the time to play 1 hour/day or 8 hours/week. Membership is not cheap when you don't enjoy it enough.

At this rate just create a whole new runescape lol

I'm with you, can't even log in anymore when I used to spend 10+ hours a day loving rs3, making videos and having a good time. Every update they've put out in the last few years has pushed me farther and farther away and I know I'm not alone.

I played for 18 years and I finally quit in October when a friend convinced me to get out of my bubble and try out FFXIV Online. I can't begin to describe how it feels to play a game that actually cares about the players, a game where you can actually feel the passion of the devs in the gameplay. Looking back at all my years playing RS I almost feel like a victim of Stockholm syndrome, I feel like these last 18 years of my life have just been wasted. There's so many things about RS I never knew I had issues with until moving onto something better, it has been a really eye opening experience. I truly hope things will change in RS for those still holding on because I know how much this game means to all of you.

totally agree with everything here. I came back right before necromancy, I won't reveal my ingame name but I had the #1-3 most xp gained over dxpw if I remember correctly depending on which tracker used. gained basically 1.5b xp in a month, combat, slayer etc. when they released necro they made a lot of bosses fun again - but the constant meta changes, mixed with the 2% ge tax, made every item crash and it sucks to be playing more for less rewards. when the hero pass came out, it just seemed like they respect players' time absolutely zero and they expect people to treat the game like a full time job. lure people in with necro just to release hero pass. until Jagex respects players' time and money, I have no interest in returning to RS3.

I had just came back to RS a few months ago for the 100th time before the new Stardew Valley update dropped. I was just thinking about taking a break from that and maybe logging in today when I see this video and more rehashed RS3 vs OSRS fights and I really just don't have the desire to log in anymore. I know Stardew Valley and RS3 are fundamentally different games. But the level of care Stardew Valley get in comparison let's me know which game should get more of my limited time. So I guess see you next year Jagex. If RS3 survives that long...

I cancelled my membership a few days ago and wiped my hands , and i've never felt so liberated. It looks more disastrous day by day, so sad to see.

took a short break since just after the Christmas event until today, got burned out a little because I got a ton of free keys and was trying to get santa hats (ended up with 4 purples, no blacks) but as a side effect from TH and the Christmas presents I got a ton of lamps which got me 99 div. Feel like I cheated. been playing for over 14 years, took 10 before I got my first 99. Honestly I was planning to take a longer break but my premier membership auto renewed :)))
