The best advice I was ever given about welding was to get myself in a comfortable position, preferably seated, where I could control my arms and hands easily without stress. So, try getting a workshop stool and sitting at the bench over the workpieces. Overall, your progress with a brand new welder is terrific - well done!

Congratulations. The irony of your new welder is that you will start with a welder cart, to keep your cylinder and welder together, which you will do with a arc welder. But as you gain confidence and skill, the arc welder will soon be left at the back, under the workbench. 😊 by the way, the downside of the foot pedal is that it is best to sit and weld, so that you can manipulate the pedal with control. Some people have modified their Tig with a thumb control as they find the foot pedal unwieldy... personally, I find that sitting and welding does give you more control. (Wear an apron , otherwise your pants will burn).
Thank you! It's funny you should mention that but I was actually thinking of making a cart as a learning experience. The gun actually does have a button trigger that one can use instead of the foot pedal, I was just not sure what the right way is to use the tig. But I'll definitely give it a go. Think it might work better for me.
Make use of the foot pedal, it works much better to control the arc. Make sure the gas is compatible with aluminium. But sofar, not bad for a beginner. well done bud
