I'm a little late but I just bought a 2016 2.5t portfolio. The motor in mine and that xe in the video is a Ford Ecoboost, the ingenium came out later. I haven't noticed the wiring loom however I will take a look and I do have insulation on the bonnet. Nice car when you are just driving yourself and a friend around. As I've found out it's a sports car pretending to be a sedan. I have dark walnut in mine so it seems there were a range of wood to choose from.
You are right. They are sports cars in sedan drag. Very fast because of the light weight. Not much legroom at the back but to be honest, having owned the bigger XF 2016 model, the XE is the better one because of its size. It's XF condensed into a tiny dynamite package.
Deborah Saddler Hey Debbs, thanks 😁. I didn't buy another Jag, but very tempted. My XF is in for some TLC so they have it for a few days. Hopefully I get it back tomorrow 😉
Hilton, I had a small panic attack, I thought you purchased the XE. 😟 Your FX review was a key factor in my decision to purchas my XF last month. Thank you for putting these videos together, they are very informative. Now I have my sights set on an XJ L...🤗
I just bought one of these in petrol format. Not taken delivery of it yet. It's a 2017 model all wheel drive version. Beautiful two tone red and black leather seats. Black wheels, mirrors and side vent covers. Heated seats and windscreen which will be useful in Scottish winters! :-) I'll be sorry to see my 3l diesel XF go as it's been a wonderful car especially after I had it remapped to 300BHP. It is now 10 years old though so there comes a time to part company! Hope you are well.
The gas door unlocks as soon as the driver's is unlocked. I like this setting because is not redundant. The Dealership gave you a base model, you would've loved the higher-end seats. Nice video.
This wasn't a base model, it was the top spec 25T with the additional power pack. It had the full leather interior and 360 degree camera system as well. Jaguar never put remote gas release buttons in their cars - you literally have to get out and push the flap to open it. Gas attendants often struggle with the flap as they don't understand how it works. Its irritating to have to climb out the car and open it for them.
Those wiring looms in the front honestly look really shoddy, it's like someone DIY'd them in their garage. Or a pre production installation. Definitely will cause issues like you said especially in harsh weather conditions. What was JLR thinking putting that in a production car 😬
