I drive the XE P250 facelift since January. It is really fun to drive but infotainment and assistance systems are definately not on the same level as in a BMW or Audi. But you see a 3'series or an A4 at every corner in Germany and it is really nice to drive something little bit special. 😉

Such a great looking car, still after 5 years. So many cars in this class try to look distinctive and end up being just ugly. New BMW 4 I’m looking at you. This car has such pure lines and a beautiful shape. That’s why getting in the back is so hard! Can’t understand the comments from others about the wheels. There are so many choices offered. There must be some you like!

@@sergamespl Leather isn't just a by-product of the meat industry. There surely are industries that try to make use of most animal parts but there also are industries where most of the animal is simply wasted because most parts of the animal aren't worth it to be processed further. It's just less effort to take an animal, kill it, sell the expensive stuff and get rid of the rest to make room for the next animal and continue with the good stuff.

@@Skare147 I don't expect any part the animal is wasted. There is always dog food.
@honzanemec1547
@honzanemec1547 4 года назад
@@earthstick Yes but dog food is a byproduct. It doesn't create the demand for cows to be killed. It's only there because of human consumption. So it's important that we don't create a demand for it. Watch the penis bit in Game Changers on Netflix, you'll never eat meat again. Gelatin is also a byproduct. It's like food made by an evil disney villain. The skinless skulls, and cartilage and sinew are cooked into a slime called gelatin, and then colored and turned into candy for children, but of course nobody tells them what they are really eating, because they would be horrified.
@wolvoman1

Animals are not just killed for their skins, and the carcass dumped, the whole of the animal is put to good use, leather interiors in Jaguars has always been part of its styling.We all have different opinions regarding the use of animal skin on furniture, its not a cruel process, and as i already said, we dont just kill the animal for its skin, its put to good use.Its a bit like saying making tyres from rubber obtained from tree's is going to ruin the planet, the process is a lot more involved

Thank you very much for your interest in this topic. As a start, please tune in to what the animal leather industry tried to do here with our channel: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nP_CvLlaFlI.html In general, depending on the animal skin grade, the animals are specifically raised for this matter. However even if meat would be the reason no.1 in other cases, the hide remains one of the most profitable body parts. That means: If manufacturers put animal leather in a car and you accept it as a customer, you give your money to an industry that earns money by oppressing humans, animals and destroys the environment, you make them more profitable. Also, if you turn the argument around "meat is the waste of the leather industry" you realize how biased the argument is. After all, would you care for which body part you would murdered? Or imagine someone robs you on the street and beats you to death - would it matter to you if it was for your Smartphone or for your purse? The animal agriculture industry occupies 2/3 of all farm land on this planet which cannot be used for direct human nutrition then. That is extremely inefficient. The no.1 cause for deforestation is the animal industry. It is also one of the biggest contributor to climate change. The amount of land, resources, energy and water being used is beyond imagination. For the alternative, you can either use artificial fabrics which can be made from recyclables (we have already shown a lot of vehicles that use great fabric seats from PET-bottles etc.) or more and more also from plant-based materials (like Pinatex). And even if you would create a seat completely with petroleum without a recycling share, the amount of oil being used for that is nothing in comparing just to once fueling up your car. In practical reasons, fabric or microfibre seats are just more useful. You do not sweat in summer and it is not cold in winter. Not using animal skin on seats is a major issue of animal rights, human rights - and after all just of common sense what is better both for the environment and just more practical and more luxurious for the customer. We cannot change what we have bought in the past (that also counts for ourselves of course!), but with more information and compassion we can change how we decide in the future.

I think the animal would disagree that it's being put to good use. The animal would like to keep living. It's a sad that we treat living individuals as property and resources. A cow is just a big dog, watch them play on youtube with a ball.

Great Review Thomas. At 1:34 I said left - wrong this time! I quite like the JLR rear view mirror camera system. I wonder when, or if manufacturers will regularly fit proper built-in dashcams using their existing high quality cameras (I know some performance cars have this for track use, and Citroen has a basic system in some cars). Also dashcams are illegal in Austria I believe. Many thanks Autogefuhl.

@@autogefuehl - Tesla now have a system called Sentinel where the on-board cameras can record. I think the system can also work as a dash cam recorder when the car is in motion. There are some that argue if all vehicles were fitted with video recording then drivers would behave more sensibly because the courts could easily determine who caused the crash from numerous video cameras, instead of the police always having to "appeal for witnesses"...!

I'm a little late to the party seeing this was uploaded 3 years ago, but comparing this to my 2017 jaguar xe s, the "riva hoop" element has seemed to disappear in this new facelift? As in there is no longer any trim such as wood, piano black, etc that is on the curve along the riva hoop. Did you ever find out why they decided to stop this as it is very strange since Jaguar had seemed so proud of this design element when the Jaguar xe was first released. is it due to cutting costs? Great video again, im bingeing all your videos at the moment.

Being premium means quality, and offering customers options. If a customer wants non leather products, create a high quality alternative! Jags always end up costing more money than BMWs or Audis here in Canada, so you really have to love the design over it's competitors. I like it, but it doesn't wow me. In the end, I've always been scared away from JLR because of their quality issues. A R dynamic P300 AWD is 56k here. A Audi S3 is 48.4k. S4 is 60k. Hummm

My Dad just collected a new BMW330i and having been in his car, I'm drawn to this Jag (I currently have a 1Series) You can see the mega resources a company like BMW have thrown into it, but the Jag has a bit more character and for sure in my area, scarcity (not exclusivity as plenty could afford but opt German) If a Jag dealer was to price conscious of the stiff competition (and depreciation, depreciation, depreciation) and offer 3 year unlimited warranty and free servicing, the value would have me overlooking the compromises. Wild card would be a top spec Mazda3 saloon - yes not same segment but again - value

A problem for JLR cars is that not all models share the same infotainment systems. Defender and 2021 iPace use their new Pivi Pro system which has better performance whilst older models still use InControl Touch Pro. They also seem to ship slow processors. I think their digital dash is better designed than the new Mercedes system. JLR make some baffling design decisions. The rear seat release mechanism is a joke.

We need to change this idea that sitting on a dead animal's flesh is luxurious. It's rather barbaric don't you think? What if you sat on a dead dog's skin? Everyone would be outraged, because in dogs we recognise that it's awful to kill them. A cow is no different. They are just big dogs, but we normalized that their killing. This must change.

I guess you recommend the P250 more than the P300 because of the RWD. My question is where do you see the future of Jaguar saloons? The XJ is gone. And there are also new leatherette materials available which are superior in every aspect: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-u94YXJ72UTA.html Using animal skin on seats is a major issue of animal rights, human rights - and after all just of common sense what is better both for the environment and just more practical and more luxurious for the customer. We cannot change what we have bought in the past (that also counts for ourselves of course!), but with more information and compassion we can change how we decide in the future.

Thank you very much for your interest in this topic. I also bought cars with animal skin leather seats before I did my research and got to know the industry. The most important thing is: With today's modern materials, you have nothing to lose, just to gain. You achieve the same kind of luxury and comfort or even better while having the same or better durability with less impact on humans, animals and the environment. You can use fabric/cloth, microfibre or leatherette. The classic approach is using oil/plastic as source material. Overall, a vehicle contains about 300 kg plastic. A car seat needs about 5 kg plastic. So the overall plastic share for the seats is very low and it is at this moment the most efficient way to produce a car seat. A couple of litres of fuel equals a car seat basically. So if you want to save oil/plastic, rather look at consumption for energy, fuel and heating and to other car parts than the seat. Note that animal skin leather also always contains a plastic coating for durability. However, long-term we should of course find raw oil alternatives. So going further, seats can be made from recyclables (e.g. from PET-bottles or old fishing nets) or even increased share of plant-based materials (like pine oil, canola oil or start-up materials like Pinatex from pineapple leaves or Desertex from cactus fibre or the mixed-plant-based Mirum, so be seen at ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-S1aNZeoatmE.html). On a calculation base, by ditching animal skin leather from car interiors, the amount of emissions (CO2e) is reduced by 85 (!) % (www.press.bmwgroup.com/africa-dom-easteurope/article/detail/T0403389EN/on-the-market-from-2023:-bmw-and-mini-models-with-vegan-interiors?language=en) - and that is a very conservative calculation. So it is at this moment the most important thing you can do to make car interiors more sustainable. A good example for high-end luxury with ventilated animal free seats is the BMW X7 with Sensafin: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1pRNkW9nrrw.html And the Kia EV9 with plant-based oil share: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6vXePQi_MAk.html New leatherette materials can be superior in every aspect, even for cleaning: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-u94YXJ72UTA.html More and more natural materials are rising: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nRSsXEnwHDo.html Also check out what the animal skin leather industry tried to with our channel: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nP_CvLlaFlI.html For seeing how the animals are being treated and transported in the global leather industry, watch this footage: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tkjCAmq1_8E.html Note that the footage is genuine and was recorded by a highly decorated investigative journalist in Germany I know myself personally. In a high animal skin grade, the animals are specifically raised for this matter. However even if meat is the "first" misuse case, the hide remains a profitable body part. That means: If manufacturers put animal leather in a car and you demand it as a customer, you give your money to an industry that earns money by oppressing humans, animals and harms the environment, you make them more profitable. Alternatively, you could support industries with your wallet which try to improve the sustainability of materials. Also, if you turn the argument around to "meat is the waste of the leather industry" you realize that it doesn't make sense (and is ethically doubtful) to discuss the primary use of individual body parts of mammals. Mind experiment: You are getting slain down on the street; would it matter to you if it was for your smartphone or for your purse? We cannot change what we have bought in the past, but with more information and compassion we can change how we decide in the future.

The problem I see with Tata Jaguar is that it stands on ceremony and its corporate cheapness is reflected in its slower response to customer needs and complaints than its competitors. Even Italy’s FCA Entities and China Geely Volvo regularly give their cars and interior tech updates more frequently than this company. The current economic stagnation/ Carpocalypse will further set apart winners from losers. Though I do understand an xe class , similar to 1/2 series BMW and A/cla/c class are for the aspirational classes of cars to get up and coming drivers hooked on a company’s products so power and performance aren’ t always the first considerations.

@@autogefuehl I LOVE the channel, I was here before a 100K, but this argument is also biased and I think you shouldn't promote your own views on the channel. You statement (the moral part) only makes sense if you promote veganism also, however it would be VERY unethical and autocratic to force that lifestyle on any given person. A meat eating person probably thinks that killing a cow and killing a human being is a VASTLY different act morally - and I think also that we could make very convincing arguments to ground that (even our legal system is built on such premise). So please don't ever compare killing a cow to killing a human being and how it would be similar - this is just a trigger for many people and also a very questionable statement from a philosophical perspective. From an environmentalist perspective your statement on this issue makes a lot more sense, so I would keep the discussion in that valley.

At 11:13 is reported that it Jaguar XE has 15.5 cubic feet or 440 liters of trunk space. This is the typical FAKE GOURMET sedan, the one that comes ready to be swallowed by an SUV. In the ranking of decent sedans with a trunk capacity above 500 liters or 17.6 cubic feet (SEDANS TOP 500) it does not enter. The trunk of this car is similar than the trunk of the Renault Megane, a HATCHBACK sold in Australia which has a trunk of 434 liters or 15.3 cubic feet of capacity. The best of Jaguar is the XF with 540 liters of trunk capacity which makes it a SEDAN TOP 500.
