The latest video in my Jaguar XF Portfolio series.
In this video we have replaced the front brake discs, pads and brake wear sensor. The front discs on my model are 326mm and has one brake wear sensor on the nearside.
The final torque settings for the brake caliper slide bolts are 58Nm and the carrier 115Nm. These figures have been taken from Jaginfo.org so I cannot guarantee the accuracy, so please do your own research.

I just did this job on mine last week on all corners and used this vid for reference, I went with slotted and drilled rotors, more for the look than anything. Turning the wheel to get the angle for the breaker bar can help and normally there's metal clips on the studs holding the rotors on, the rear pistons need to be spun back in so a universal caliper tool kit needed for that, it's easy to reset the parking brake. With the state of those breaks I'm starting to see why you got the car so cheap!😅 Fair play for taking it on though, defo a car worth saving!

Hi buddy, thanks for getting in touch. I'm glad you managed to get all of yours sorted with no real problems. I must admit that having the slotted & drilled discs does look at smarter than a stock flat rotor. Mine were the worst I have ever seen, completely unbelievable that someone would drive a car in that condition! Cheers again buddy, Simon.

More great work Simon. The poor car must have been owned by an absolute animal. I'm so glad to see it's getting some TLC now.

Hi Simon, another great video. How on earth the previous owner could drive with metal on metal is scary. Good luck with the sping.

Hi Ray, I know, it's crazy isn't it! I genuinely have never seen anything like this before. I had a go at the spring yesterday, but I only had a 1/4 drive T60 torx, which just sheered off my breaker bar when trying to remove the bottom bolt of the shock 😲

Part 3 and really enjoying these videos. It really is disgusting the way some people treat their cars.

Just a heads up, I would recommend you change the Jaguar wheel nuts. As you probably know they are prone to breaking off. The locking wheel nut looks very corroded. As for the brake pads.....well, dumb struck, they must of been screaming there heads off when he pressed the brake pedal. At 10:50 it sounds like the Crow was sheocked too when it saw the pad. Ha ha. Great video. Just one thing.....I didnt see you clean the disc with brake cleaner before you fitted it ??. As for the cut out missing on the brake pad...Not good manufacturing. Stay away from that make.

Hi Kenneth, the rear brakes were done just before I bought the car I'm afraid buddy, so I haven't done those myself. Sorry I can't be any more help with them at this stage buddy. Thanks for getting in touch though 👍

Hi dirk, do you mean the torque settings? If so I don't mention them on purpose as I don't want to get it wrong in any way, so I leave it up to you guys to find that out. My videos are just for my entertainment and i am just showing you how I did the work 👍 Thanks again. Simon.
