I live in Jacksonville Florida. One thing I hate about going to jaguars games is the sun. A roof is definitely needed. I'm looking forward to jaguars new renovated stadium. It'll be nice for Jacksonville
ONLY issue i have with it is they sare moving away from natural grass. i cant even begin to explain how much i hate that. but as a duval resident, im super pumped. look into the details, its actually a really good deal for the city. COJ owns the stadium, so we will beneifit greatly from the project outside of the jags, and is paying 625m out of an already existing city improvment fund. no new taxes will be implemented for the tax payer. great video bro
This place is going to be beautiful when it finally opens up as it's going to cover a lot of big events with roof over it. The best quality that it's going to have is that the interior will look the same as the EverBank Field right now unlike the other roof stadiums that have this cookie-cutter interior design. I wish the other teams would just throw the roof of their current stadiums like I think that's what the Bears need to just go on ahead and do in Chicago.
The tarp in the back of the rendering is for the expansion capabilities for the FL/GA game. The overall capacity is being reduced but the stadium will have the ability to expand to host larger crowds.

Bro do some research..The seats coverd reduces the capacity to 64000 from 72,000 for FL/GA and our capacity is still amoung the average of the league..We've never had a problem bringing in 66,000 just not the 75000 it was originally built for. Yall need to do research before you call yourself blasting us..Shad is stayong for a reason and he couldve left if he felt the way you guys did..
Dude attendance not the best is a lie. I'm a ST holder and The Jags ranked 11th in total attendance last year so please do some homework before you say thing that are not true.
@@ac2670 It's factual but the way it's used is as a criticism. The reality is that 31 of 32 teams are "not the best" when it comes to attendance. Relatively speaking, Jags home attendance is on par with other teams.
While I agree with you, don’t take those rankings too seriously. I’m a Panthers fan and we apparently ranked top 10 in attendance this season but that obviously wasn’t accurate lol
They need larger capacity to support the annual Florida-Georgia game, Gator Bowl game, and other special events. Standard capacity for the Jags should be 70k max. Hope the new USL club plays there to maximize ROI.

It’s a 55/45 split. City pays $625 million for renovation + $150 million in deferred maintenance starting February 2025 to prepare for the major renovation work starting in 2026 and the Jags will pay $625 million for renovation + cost overruns. They will remove some seats and no, there won’t be a curtain. The capacity will be reduced to between 62k-63k and expanded to 71,500 for concerts, college football games, etc. As a Jags fan, we really needed a roof cause it’s hot as hell and I’m glad this is happening. Can’t wait for it when it’s complete!

School districts are funded by the state, not the city. Bad argument. Plus the city benefits for other events and the economic impact of a growing list of events that the facility can now be used for. So it should not fall 100% to an owner. Although I agree most of it should

Jacksonville jaguars should play their games temporarily at Florida State or the University of Florida stadiums. They could bus the fans from Jacksonville so that they won't have to worry about parking.
The problem with Jacksonville hosting a Super Bowl is not the stadium, it’s the lack of hotel rooms in the downtown area to support it. Last time Jacksonville hosted a Super Bowl, they had to bring in cruise ships downtown to supplement the hotel room capacity. The new 4 Seasons being built across the street will help, but there’s still not enough hotels in the area.
The hotels don't all have to be in the downtown area. It has to be a certain number of hotel rooms with a particular level of quality within something like 75 miles. If I recall, at the time of the last Superbowl that number was 25,000 rooms and Jacksonville only had 19,000 thus the cruise ships. But that was a long time ago too, so Jacksonville may qualify now. I dunno.

I don’t think bleacher seating would be a problem since lambeau field is primarily bleachers except for the one side on one of the end zones. But yet it again it’s only temporary.
University of Kansas in College Football is currently getting a stadium upgrade. They play their home games between arrowhead stadium and sporting Kansas city's stadium this year.

Looks like they've slightly toned down the renovation. That 360° videoboard looks like its gone but honestly it lowkey looks better with the big screens at each end
The video board is going to be done in a second phase of the project, a year or 2 after the 2028 reopening. There’s also a bunch of exterior/landscaping projects happening in the second phase as well
I heard that also. Lol. I think he might have meant it's bigger than EverBank, which it's not either. EverBank holds 67,000 and is expandable to 80s. Camping World holds 65,000.
all the ppl I know from there don't agree with this. if they want to build stadiums they need to pay for them on their own no need to tax the people. stop pushing the community out and adding stuff the city natives don't want
You really shouldn’t believe everything you hear. They aren’t making people pay higher taxes to pay for this stadium - they’re using money from The Better Jacksonville plan - which is still in progress until 2030 - to pay for this. Before anyone even says something, no, you can’t take money from this plan and use it for funding schools or the like because when the plan began in the early 90’s, it had to be used on infrastructure (which the stadium does fall under because it is owned by the CITY). That also why the deal was slightly altered by the city council because the Jags and Mayor Dana Deegan wanted to use some of the funds to help the surrounding community (which is going to be discussed at a later date apparently).

The only thing that looks similar is the see- through part of the roof because there isn’t really many options when it comes to that. Every thing else about the design of the renovated stadium looks nothing like any other stadium in the league or in the country for that matter
