Jaguars All-25: #1 Tony Boselli Shutdown Hall of Fame Defensive Ends 

A lot of people don’t know this but Tony Boselli is the only player in the history of the NFL to be drafted twice in the first round. He was the 2nd overall pick in 1995 and he was the FIRST overall pick in 2002 by the Texans in the expansion draft. He tore his labrum in both shoulders and it cost him his career. I won’t ever forget he chased down a player that intercepted Brunell up in Cincy. He tackled him on the 5 yard line. The Jags defense held the Bengals on 4 plays and took possession back. Boselli was fired up. He used to run down the sideline when we got an interception on defense. He was Tim Tebow before Tim Tebow. He was that guy that got in peoples face when they needed it. And he always protected Brunell even when he got sacked. Boselli only gave up 5 career sacks! Think about that. Only 5 bro.

So INCREDIBLY happy that he's in!! I had the pleasure of watching that Bruce Smith game, and man, he SHUT. HIM. DOWN! Best game I have ever seen Boselli play. I was blessed to be born in 1984 and remember when the Jaguars were a force to be reckoned with. Congratulations Tony! I am so freaking excited!!

My lasting memory of Boselli was how many times he was able to take a pass rusher out of the play by pushing him with one hand on a shoulder. He's the only O-lineman I've ever seen who could do that regularly, often against Pro Bowlers.

4:20, Bruce Smith's famous spin move... Tony Boselli handled him and made it look effortless, if it wasn't for all those injuries Tony B would certainly have been in the hall of fame by now.

when they say built different they were talking about athletes like Tony. Most tackles were not built like him, he looked like he might be able to play TE. Jags have had a handful of excellent players people forget about from the 90s and early 00's

I get it. It's not a sexy pick to have a tackle as our best player ever but when multiple GMs, owners, scouts, and players have said he's the absolute best during his time, that makes him the best player in jags history. The closest chance that we get a player in the HoF. Love the pick. Go jags!

I was blessed to play against him in highschool. Everyone knew he was going to the pros one day. It doesn't shock me that # 71 made it to the HOF! Much love from Colorado PS. I didn't get sack because of this giant of a man.

No disrespect to #28 because Taylor was the clearly the most *electric* Jags player but Boselli's importance to the success of this franchise is why he is #1 on this list. When look at his body of work you'll see a guy who truly was a gamechanger that allowed others around him to flourish. His game tape against Smith should be require viewing for all prospective OL players.

Freddy T is number one in my book, Tony is great hands down, but I don't think the Jags are who they are without Fred, Mark being a lefty, makes the LT as not the key focal point as it would normally be

For Tony Boseli to not be in the hall is damn near a tragedy! What did he ever do to anyone. He should of made it by now. Now I want to be there to induct him in. Tony Boseli is one of several integral heros in my life. I look like him and I'm hoping I move and play like him. I played the game that way in Junior High as parents started complaining I was hurting there children Lol As A result I was dismissed as a result of what I believe to be early parenting politics in a nasty manner. Shame on them people!!!

1995 & Tony was hurt as the season started. I remember when he first entered a game & the offensive became better immediately!

It seemed that every time a key play came up, sometimes a game winning play, the penalty flag would be dropped for holding by Tony Boselli. It was frustrating as hell.

I love Fred Taylor as much or more than any Jaguars fan but Fred made the pro bowl once Tony Boselli went to 5 straight that's a big difference

If only the Jags could have waited just a little bit longer before he finally made it to the H.O.F.
