Recently, I came up with a challenge where you can only collect power cells, orbs, and scout flies from one area at a time, all the way up to 100% completion. This video ensures my challenge is do-able at least up to Volcanic Crater.
@@HopkinsTheMovie You might be able to do it. If I'm not mistaken the requirement to get to Snowy is trigger the red sage hut cutscene and then collect 2 cells somewhere. You could try and collect everything in spider cave first. If I remember right the only cell and orbs that you're supposed to need the blocked yellow eco vents for are the ones in the egg cave in the room with the robot. If you're quick enough with your roll jumps you might be able to get enough eco from the robot scaffolding to collect the cell and the orbs.
@@HopkinsTheMovie It is actually possible. Look up the video "Jak and Daxter 100% Speedrun in 1:35:28!!! (WR)" by outrageousjosh and skip to about an hour and 10 min. He 100%'s spider cave before going to snowy. He gets the crates you're thinking of in exactly the way I suggested.
There are actually a couple other quicker ways of doing this. The first is running from the end of mountain pass to the cell, using an boosted extended uppercut to pass a gap, coming up to where you can see the cell in the cave, then crouch jumping and spinning at a specific spot to land up top. The second involved coming out of the cave on the zoomer with blue eco and jumping on the trees in between the cave entrance and the boulder. You can actually do it this way while racing against the lurkers if you're fast enough.
@@quintennobbe Well yeah obviously, that's the intended way. But the video and my comment are about how to do it BEFORE unlocking the yellow eco vents in snowy mountain, which is pretty useful to speedrunners.
