I'm a Jamaican, born, grow & live here, and I approve this video! Yes, please don't walk around in your bathing suit in the town, you wouldn't do that in your own home town... its weird. Yes, there are shady areas that even us as citizens try to avoid in the nights. But overall, tourism is a big earner for us as a country and we are a loving people so we go out of our way to be nice to our visitors. But please, nobody actually says 'ya mon', its actually 'yeh man'. It's not rounded like how foreign actors pretending to be Jamaican in Holywood movies mispronounce it. But thumbs up on the video overall. Hope you visit again!

I'm another Jamaican that would like to give a thumbs up. Touching on the transportation - If you are going to use a taxi, make sure you use a Red plate taxi. Red plates are licenses and regulated while the other Yellow plates are not regulated. However, the absolute best option is to hire a driver :)

Yep, you nailed it, I live on the North Coast.We go to the beach every Sunday.I would not trade living here for the world.I have visited the States several times and other countries but there is no place in the world like Jamaica.The culture, the food, the people, beaches, mointains, waterfalls.You can never be bored.

My husband and I went to Jamaica for an anniversary trip. The island is beautiful, but the people were what made our trip so wonderful that we are returning with our kids. Can't wait!

I just like to say thank you for the accurate representation of my home. I thing to note, most visitor tend to gravitate towards the north coast, but there is something to be said about the south coast, particularly southern St. Elizabeth, its a totally different experience. The resorts are smaller with better rates, no crowds, no noise, just a relaxing atmosphere and great hospitality. I think on your next trip to Jamaica you should spend a few days in Treasure Beach

Wow, a foreigner reporting on Jamaica and not doing a hit piece on it or going out of his way to find the most poor, depressive, crime riddled, rundown places to represent Jamaica in the worst light possible. I’m from England, my parents are Jamaican and I spend at least 4 months of the year in Jamaica. I can’t tell you the amount of times I have seen Jamaica portrayed on the tv in England and have felt like smashing the tv due to the bs they spew. Great report presented by a guy who doesn’t have an agenda.

I have a great time in Jamaica when I go. The best part is the people! I like their outlook on life in general. My favorite place is Montego Bay. I know that I sound like a typical tourist, but I actually like Red Stripe with my Jerk Chicken. Don't let someone scare you into not going, they probably haven't been there themselves!

lol moving to America I would overtake people and there would be all the room in the world in the other lane but the person coming towards me would still drive off the road in to a bush even though I will be back in my lane with like 300m to spare. Once when I overtook someone on dotted lines they called the police... the police said people aren't used to that and maybe you shouldn't overtake!!! Incredible country!!! I laughed so hard when your describing Jamaican overtaking Americans are really weird drivers.

One thing some people might want to know if they are flying into Montego Bay is to not freak out if you're sitting on the left side of the plane. The airport is literally on the edge of the water. You will be like 2000 feet above the water, and there will be no land in sight. It will literally look like you're crash landing. Then when you get to around 500 feet, the runway seems to appear out of nowhere.

If someone on the beach or in a boat tries to sell you a Conch shell, it’s usually filled with weed. So if you plan on bringing any souvenirs back, make sure there’s nothing illegal inside!

My sister swears by Herbivore Botanicals after sun spray. She doesn’t tan like me, she burns! But when she liberally uses this spray on her red or pink spots, she doesn’t burn at all! I couldn’t believe it. I tried it myself on my trouble areas and it really did work. Maybe it might work for you, too! Thank you for another awesome, informative video!
