Goodby My Lover..James on the Voice Germany last year..how can this man have so many best live performances? Always gives 100%..thoughtful, generous, poet extraordinaire, soo much talent.
First of all, the whole "Back to Bedlam" album is a masterpiece. I only know a few albums, where I like every single song and this album is of them. I like the studio version of this particular song, if you can call it that, because it was recorded in Carrie Fisher's bathroom of all places. It's very light, with only a few other instruments besides the piano that was for some reason also in this bathroom. That being said, this version here is even purer. You have this dry environment of an old university, that old C. Bechstein piano and his unique voice. No production, no effects, no autotune. It doesn't get any purer than this and then he sings his song in such a way, appearing very vulnerable and emotional. Even though I have known this song for years, that version shocked me when I heard it for the first time. I just had share it I'm glad you liked it and I hope other people will like it as well.
What a sensitive performance. I love the emotion he puts in the performances of his songs. Some people don't like his voice. I'm not one of them. I like his special voice, it's different, beautiful and full of energy, emotion.
He looks so handsome in his royal household cavalry uniform with his gun, he looks so sexy. I could be his grandma, but I love the soul he puts into his music. And he is handsome such beautiful blue eyes.
My brother spent 22 years and more in the British army, including Kosovo and Iraq and Afghanistan, not to mention Northern Ireland. He retired a couple of years ago. However, every British soldier loved James Blunt, He may have been a posh Officer, but all soldiers love and like love stories and feelings. It's why soldiers love James Blunt
An old man has been living alone for 30 years after her wife passed from cancer. This song and the lyrics broke him once more. It’s so relatable to him.
He recorded the official song, high as a kite at the home of Carrie Fisher, on a piano in her bathroom. He passed out on the last note, look it up, he is very witty and honest in his emotion. Top dude.
This song (all the songs from the album Back to Bedlam) take me back to 2006/2007 when i got to know James" music, i listened to it to silence my mind, to try to find a way out of a abusive marriage, i saw James live with my best friend, it was great.... He has such a touching voice. I still listen to this album, more then 15 years later......... a ton of memories, good ones and bad ones, but also a ton of lessons learned in that time..... Goodbye my lover..... goodbye my friend.............. Thanx Mr H, for this reaction, thanx for this channel also, for so many good memories, for so much love and fun.
He is one of the very few artists who sound better live than the record version. James Blunt IS my favorite artist. If I could offer a suggestion or three it would be "Same Mistake", "Love Under Pressure" (Which is accompanied by a funny video) and "1973". I love your reactions!!!
I believe he wrote this song after travelling on the underground in London and saw his ex with another man , they saw each other but he never reacted out of deference
james blunt saved the world from ww3 during his time in the British army he was deployed to somewhere in Yugoslavia or something and was ordered by an American General to take an airport occupied by the Russians and he refused without direct order from his British superior who fortunately understood what could have happened if did continue and told him to stand down
Carry you home and cry are awesome ,carry you home is about his friend who was killed in Kosovo ,and cry is about the effects of war on soldiers ...And all proceeds from both went to help for heroes for wounded veterans ...
Yet like I’ve said again you very respectvil listener love your reactions. You only talk when appropriate and I feel like I’m listening to songs for first time like you. You are amazing
How sad to see the supposedly intellectual elite feeling the need to concentrate on holding a phone rather than not just feeling the moment. How far we have fallen.
If you want another great emotional James Blunt song to react to then do "Monsters" (Original video).) I promise you won't keep it dry. It's a song he wrote for his dad who suffered from a failing kidney and was dying.
