Yes, that was James's father Charles Blount in the video. He was dying from kidney failure (not cancer) at the time of the video, because no matching donor could be found. He only had one kidney because he had already given one for another man. As a result of this video, a distant relative in Australia also named Charles Blount came forward. All James's proceeds from this video went to veterans' groups, as both were British Army officers. When one or the other was deployed, they would say some version of "I'm not your son, you're not my father, we're just two grown men saying goodbye" to each other. The new kidney has Charles doing well, although I am sure with a transplant he has to be extra careful about germ exposure.

Youre right , it does take long for us to get to know our father's. You're absolutely right. It's because of the very things that's addressed in the song imo. Father's and sons will both adopt a role when the child is born ..the son plays the roll of the son and his father the role of the father. James says we can drop the act now. Time is up. His father had played his part successfully and James, if you know about these two guys and their relationship through the military will know that he did as well. But now the time is gone. Let us know introduce ourselves. After all these years we finally meet.and it turn out that when these characters
