you can feel the pain through his voice, through his tearful eyes, and he was a soldier there. Imagine the families he depicts in such painful words, imagine yourself there for one second..just imagine..
jurid, I feel with every word he sings, with his soul and with all people who were and are in war, for I've been in war myself. war , if you survive it, leaves scars on your body and soul, for a lifetime...
I think this is the best song of James ,very profound and u can see it in his eyes...this song makes me cry.how sad is our reality passing tru many wars leaving deep traces in our hearts.going to war and not knowing the true cause is no bravery at all.thank you!
"Brothers lie in shallow graves, fathers lost without a trace. A nation blind to their disgrace says 'he has been here'....All men kneel to accept their fate, wives and daughters cut and raped, a generation drenched in hate says 'he has been here' ." - Deep and painful. Reminds me of the Congo next door and of course Gaza, Libya and all other places where 'he' has been.
Bowing my head to this man. To make it lyrics and songs after having been there. Instaed of simply going insane from the horror he must have beeing facing.
Magnifique... Quel plaisir de réécouter cette chanson si longtemps après sa sortie... Toujours le même effet provoqué, ce mec a vraiment la voix et les paroles pleines d'émotions..!
I'm 14 years old. I live in france and my teacher learn us this song and i'm proud of it I saw after the clip... It is very impressive thank you James blunt
+War Pictures Entertainment it will always be up to date, sadly, as our countries still sell war goods and weapons and as people still fight for reasons I cannot understand....
Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it. The lessons we should have learned from the Balkan wars were not learnt. And we are seeing the same shit again in Syria and Iraq now.
one of the most powerfull war song ever. There is crazyness and despair in his eyes when he sings that... because he's been there... He has been there.
War leaves visible and invisible injuries on lands and the bodies and souls of the people, for generations. This video makes me cry every time I watch it, for ya can see that James Blunt has been in it....and so have I been, and so many people I know....
The passion and intensity in this song is incredible. Watch his eyes as he sings. You can tell that he has seen and experienced some horrible sights. What an awesome song. I listen to it over and over. I also think, "You're Beautiful" is an awesome song too. He has a lot of great songs.
very powerful song from a man that has been there the scars of a soldier thinking he was doing the right by order to protect the innocent but he seen something else the horror of war and did not agree
Certains disent que James Blunt n'est qu'un pleurnichard, ruminant le passé.. Moi je dis que c'est artiste accompli, qui sait de quoi il parle. Et qui me fait encore et toujours pleurer..
I love his emotion ! And I'm a Kosovo-Albanian so I can feel with him. I'm proud to say, that I'm a Kosovo-Albanian and it's sad to know he has been there in such a tragic time and not just to visit the beautiful country! Love him for the reason he didn't forget about all the pain.
I'm stunned and the hair on my back stand up listening to this, I can't imagine what it must be like for him to have the images to go with those lyrics embedded in his memory. But truly brilliant performance.
So touching, from soul and heart to the heart. He feels so much what he writes and sings. I have lived in civil war situation in a guerrilla zone in Peru, have lived in own flesh how it is, how terrible war is. My heart is with all who are still in that hell or who survived it and got injured and marked forever on their bodies and souls.
@escapefromsociety ABSOLUTELY agree with you man...infact i would say that 'Back To Bedlam' is the BEST album i ever heard in my life...really...cuz every SINGLE song from that album is very good...and what can i say about his live performance...just absolutely touching.jst love him
What happened in Kosovo and what happens in any war zone leaves injuries on the land, the people, on their lives and souls, for ages and generations.....
My granny, who still lives with age of 96 saw war. My mother as little child too. She saw woman raped, children with smashed heads, humans burning. In Eastprussia. Why do humans fall into such big hatress? No animals act like human beeings hating. It starts invisible in their minds. Let´s do everything to prevent war. The small ones, the big ones. First off all the ones in our hearts.
There are children standing here Arms outstretched and to the sky Tears drying on their face He has been here Brothers lie in shallow graves Fathers lost without a trace A nation blind to their disgrace Since he's been here And I see no bravery No bravery In your eyes anymore only sadness And I see no bravery No bravery In your eyes anymore only sadness Only sadness Houses burnt beyond repair The smell of death is in the air A woman weeping in despair says He has been here Tracer lighting up the skyIt's another family's turn to die A child afraid to even cry out says He has been here And I see no bravery No bravery In your eyes anymore only sadness And I see no bravery No bravery In your eyes anymore only sadness Only sadness There are children standing here Arms outstretched and to the sky But no one asks the question why He has been here Old men kneel to except their fate Wives and daughters cut and raped A generation drenched in hate says he has been here And I see no bravery No bravery In your eyes anymore only sadness And I see no bravery No bravery In your eyes anymore Anymore, anymore, anymore And I see no bravery No bravery In your eyes anymore only sadness And I see no bravery No bravery In your eyes anymore only sadness Only sadness
Has anyone watched the footage of the war that James himself took, set to this song? You can get a glikpse of what he saw, and then seeing his face in this video showing inside his head ....i keep watching it.
At 22 seconds there is a reflection of a woman,s face on the piano. I've seen it on another clip from this show. Does anyone know who it might be or it's significance?
