Prince got what was called male blouses from Jimi Hendrix, they were both good dresses and I was definitely jealous of the boots Prince wore and would have loved to borrow a pair or two back in the day.

He is THE GODFATHER OF SOUL and The Hardest Working Man in Show Business. He done sweated out his perm (back than men got perms. It was hard for the older musicians to adapted to natural hair. Back then (?) we were all brainwashed on want was "Good Hair" Notorious for working his band hard. But he had a hard life growing

James was a once in a lifetime gift from the gods. I was a early teens little white boy listening to James, and he simply amazed me. My dad came home one day to me singing this with that 45 on his prized console stereo. All he said was "Be gentle with the needle, they're expensive as hell". Every time I hear this song, I hear my dad say this in my head. Crazy what sticks all these years later.

That’s a relaxer or back then may have been a known as a conk (chemical straightener) It takes more than a brush and dryer to get that lasting effect.

His live performance of this song in France is my personal favorite. At any rate, it's James Brown! Hardest workin man in showbiz! Whole country was rioting, burning down hoods in frustration, and concerts were being canceled outta fear. James Brown said he gotta show to do. Gotta make that coin! And he performed as scheduled and brought people together. Only one Godfather of Soul.

There's a Italy performance 69 I think. Its one of the greatest performances I've ever seen. Bootsie on bass as a teen, had two drummers and a bad ass black women dancing.
